Therapeutic Effects of Multimodal Biophysical Stimulation on Muscle Atrophy in a Mouse Model

Muscle atrophy is defined as the decrease in the size and number of muscle fibers, and is associated with injury to muscle structures. Recently, biophysical therapies using laser, ultrasound, and vibration has been widely used to improve muscle atrophy. However, although the effects of these stimuli seem to be similar, the mechanisms by which they stimulate biological tissue may be different. From this point of view, we expected that it would be possible to produce synergetic effects through combining these three different types of biophysical stimuli on biological tissues, based on the therapeutic benefit of each stimulus. For this, 35 males, 12-week old, C57BL/ 6 mice (21 ± 1.2 g), were randomly assigned to five groups: a) a sciatic nerve neurectomized “control” group (C, n = 7), b) a MILNS (Minimally Invasive Laser Needle System) therapy after sciatic nerve neurectomized group (L, n = 7), c) a LIPUS (Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound) therapy after sciatic nerve neurectomized group (U, n = 7), e) a PVS (Partial Vibration Stimulation) therapy after sciatic nerve neurectomized group (V, n = 7), and e) a multimodal biophysical stimulation after sciatic nerve neurectomized group (MS, n = 7).

Various devices for diagnosing arrester soundness are suggested, and most of them simply measure magnitude of leakage current. However, such kind of devices do not provide detailed information needed for the diagnosis. In this study, we designed and fabricated a new arrester analyzer by means of measuring the magnitude, the phase vs. wave height and the harmonics of total leakage currents. The analyzer is composed of a current detector, an optical linker, and a main device operated by a microprocessor. The main device is connected with leakage current detector optically not to be influenced by electromagnetic interference. The analyzer developed measures only total leakage currents, but analyzes most parameters needed for the arrester diagnostics.
저압용 전열수구에서 방전 신호의 발생과 검출에 관한 연구

The objectives of this paper are to provide information on the characteristics of the discharge signals in a low-voltage indoor outlet. Most of electrical fires are caused by short circuits, overheating of wires, deterioration and incomplete connection of wiring devices. The last two cases are predictable before the occurrence of fire because of its slow progress. We have simulated the discharge signals caused by the deterioration and incomplete connection of wiring devices using aged outlets. From the experimental data, we could characterize the frequency spectrums of the discharge signals depending on the cases. The higher frequency components of the signal are attenuated by the capacitance and inductance of power lines as the measuring point is getting away from the discharges. Main frequency components of the discharge signal are existent at 600kHz - 1.5MHz in incomplete connections and at 210kHz - 8MHz in deteriorations of the outlet.

본 논문은 변전소내 정보기기에 나타나는 서지전압 전류의 측정 결과에 대해 기술하였다. 서지전압 전류 관측을 위한 전력분석기는 전력용 변압기와 개폐기 주변의 신호선에 설치하였으며, 전력분석기의 시간분해능은 4 MS/s이다. 측정된 서지전압.전류의 크기는 각각 500~1,300v와 500~3,100k 이었으며, 측정기간 동안 평균 5~10회/일 이상의 서지가 기록되었다. 따라서 고전압 전력설비 주변에 설치되는 정보기기는 설치환경에 나타나는 서지의 크기를 고려하여 설계되어야 할 것이다. This paper deals with the analysis results of surge voltage and current measured on information devices installed in a power substation. The power recorder to measure surge voltage and current was connected to signal lines near power transformers and switches, and the time resolution of the power recorder is 4 MS/s. Peak value of the measured surge voltage and current were ranges of 500~1,300v and 500~3,100k, respectively. During the period of measurement, over 5~10 events per day were recorded. Consequently, information devices installed in around high voltage power facilities should be designed considering the surge voltage and current caused in the condition.

In this paper, we dealt with a partial discharge(PD) measurement method that has been accepted as an effective and non-destructive technique to estimate insulation performance of low-voltage electric and electronic devices. The PD measurement system Is composed of a coupling network, a low noise amplifier, and associated electronics. h shielded box Is adopted to make a better measurement environment against around noise. A low cut-off frequency of the coupling network estimated by a sinusoidal wave input was 125 kHz (-3 dB). Calibration tests on laboratory set-up have shown that the PD measurement system has a stable sensitivity of 10 mV/pC. In an application test oil a low-voltage three phase Induction motor (5 HP), we could detect 0.53 pC level of partial discharge at the applied voltage of AC 650 $V_{peak}$.

This paper describes the measurement result of leakage current flowing arresters connected in feeder lines to propose an optimal management method. Twenty seven arresters set in seven areas were analyzed on a regular basis for 4 months. The results showed that the RMS and the peak value of the total leakage currents for soundness arresters were a range of ... respectively. During the period of measurement, the magnitude of the leakage current didn"t show conspicious changes and there were impossible places to analyze arrester"s status due to including high THD rate in a feeder line. From the study, leakage current measurement has to be performed at a condition without running an electric train in the line, and the allowable RMS value of soundness arrester is bellow 600uA.
