        품질정책 : 품(品)과 질(質)의 연원(淵源)을 통해 살펴본 현대품질경영의 의미

        Purpose: In order to use a word as academic terminology, we must first take a look at the meaning of that word as it is commonly used and then consider whether or not the connotation of that word is suitable to be used as academic terminology. Presently, the word Pumjil(品質) is being used as academic terminology occupying an important position in the field of business administration in Korea and is usually translated into English as `quality``. The same is true in Japan. However, as is the case with many Korean words, the meaning that the word implies has a tendency to change gradually over time. This tendency can account for the changes or additions to the meaning a word connotes. Methods: This dissertation aims to escape from such biased ideas and study the meaning of ``Pum-Jil品質`` from the view of humanities and exegetics. Then the natural definition of the word as far as business administration is concerned can be considered. Results: ``Pum-Jil品質`` has been used amid changes in modern times(historic texts in both Korea and China. In Korea particularly, the word was used in the royal court until comparatively modern times.), and now it is also widely used in the field of business administration. In this process of change, a notable point is that ``Pum-Jil品質``, which was originally used to mean ``nature or character of a man``, took on a new meaning, ``a certain quality of a thing or a good``. Conclusion: ``Pum-Jil品質`` should require basic functional ``quality`` of goods or services as a prerequisite. And the functional quality should meet consumers` needs, as the pledge (trust; 信賴) for quality is between suppliers and consumers. Without consumer`s trust for goods, the relationship between suppliers and consumers cannot be maintained. So goods must exchange with trust, not expenses. In conclusion, we believe it is reasonable to understand ``Pum-Jil品質`` based on the meaning of ``evidence or similar rating for pledge (trust)`` from the view of humanities and exegetics.         「사람이 시스템이다」: DYB 교육그룹의 성공요인과 경영철학

        본 연구에서는 ‘사람이 시스템이다’라는 경영철학을 바탕으로 종합교육그룹으로 성장한 DYB 교육의 사례를 조직수명주기모형을 활용하여 분석하였다. DYB 교육은 미취학 아동부터 성인에 이르기까지 다양한 고객층에 특화된 영어교육을 제공하는 교육기업으로, 1993년 설립된 이래 단 한번도 마이너스 성장율을 기록하지 않는 성장을 지속하여 현재 업계에서 차별화된 입지를 가진 교육그룹으로 성장하였다. DYB 교육은 최선어학원으로 시작한 창업 초기부터 교육서비스의 품질에 최선의 가치를 두고 역량을 집중한 결과, 글로벌 교육시장까지 진출할 수 있는 시스템과 교육 역량을 갖추게 되었다. 사례 연구를 통해 DYB 교육의 성공요인을 분석하면 먼저 창업주인 송오현 대표의 전문성과 서번트 리더십을 찾을 수 있다. 송오현 대표는 영어 교육의 전문가로서 20년 이상 개발․축적한 이론과 경험을 바탕으로 ‘서큘라시스템’등의 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 다른 지역의 분원들에서도 동일한 품질의 교육을 받을 수 있도록 하였으며, 서번트 리더십을 통해 교육자의 모범과 경영자로서의 모범을 보임으로써 가치 있는 경영철학 및 교육철학을 실현할 수 있는 조직을 구성하고 이를 통해 기업의 성과를 얻게 된 것이다. 두 번째 성공 요소는 사람을 중시한 송오현 대표의 철학에 따라 투명한 커뮤니케이션과 교육 중심의 조직문화를 구축한 것이다. 여기서 DYB 교육의 핵심역량은 뛰어난 교육기법개발과 우수한 강사(선생님) 인력 확보, 체계화된 관리 시스템에 있다. 즉, 뛰어난 교육역량과 이를 실행하는 우수하고 헌신적인 강사 인재를 유기적이고 일관적으로 관리할 수 있는 교육시스템, 관리시스템, 학습시스템을 체계화하여 양질의 교육을 보장함으로써 지속가능한 성장을 달성할 수 있었다. 셋째는 관련다각화로서 교육 사업에만 집중된 강력한 사업구조를 구축함으로써 경쟁우위를 갖춘 종합교육그룹으로 성장할 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라, 수익성이 높은 학원 프랜차이즈를 과감히 포기하고, 교육품질을 유지할 수 있는 직영 분원제도를 고수함으로써 본원뿐만 아니라 분원을 직접 운영, 관리하여 강사에 대한 관리책임과 학생과 학부모에 대한 교육 책임을 다하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 DYB 교육의 성장과정을 살펴보고, 이를 통해 핵심역량과 성공요인을 파악해봄으로써 리더십과 조직문화를 근간으로 업계 선두 기업으로 성장하고자 하는 기업들을 위한 시사점을 찾아보고자 한다. This study analyzed the case of DYB Education, a comprehensive education group based on the management philosophy, “People are the system”, by utilizing the organizational life cycle model. DYB Education is a company offering specialized English education to a broad range of customers from preschoolers to adults with a focus on middle school students. Founded in 1993, it has recorded steady growth to become an education group with an unrivalled position in the market today. Initially launched as Choisun Language Institute, DYB Education concentrated on providing quality education services since its inception and as a result, it has developed a system and educational capacity to compete in the global education market. The key success factors behind DYB Education are the expertise of its CEO Song Oh-hyun and servant leadership. Song developed the education program for DYB based on experiences he himself accumulated for more than twenty years as an English education expert and ensured that programs of identical quality were provided in its campuses located in different regions. He acted as a model educator and entrepreneur through servant leadership and composed an organization that could realize his value-based management and education philosophies, thereby achieving corporate success. Transparent communication and a corporate culture based on Song’s humancentered philosophy also acted as success factors. The core capacity of DYB lies in its unmatched education program, talented teachers, and a well-established system. DYB Education strives to ensure quality education through its remarkable education capacity and systemized education, management, and learning systems to effectively manage talented and dedicated teachers. It endeavors to fulfill its mandate in education by taking responsibility for its teachers and towards its students and their parents by adhering to a direct management system where not only the main campus but also its numerous campuses are managed comprehensively. This study aims to examine the growth of DYB Education and identify its core capacity and success factors in order to provide an insight to companies striving to grow into leading companies based on strong leadership and corporate culture.

        Purpose: The aim of this study is to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace by examiningthe current situation of three domestic Food Dehydrator companies` products. Food Dehydrators are sortof small domestic appliances(SDA), first introduced by Korean companies. Furthermore, this study suggeststhe improvement plans in the rapidly changing world situation. Methods: Evaluate through comparing three domestic Food Dehydrator companies` products based on thePQI(Premium Quality Index) model, developed by product quality evaluation experts group. Results: At first, we classified evaluation factors into three parts - usability quality, emotional quality - andeach of the factors includes sub factors. Under this condition, the results of this study are as follows; thebrand quality is remaining at a high satisfaction level compare to other two factors but emotional qualityis assessed to be low. This study has shown at customers consider brand and usability quality factors asthe most important factor due to the nature of the product. Conclusion: As the possibility of increasing customer needs such as product design and sensitive quality besides usability quality has risen in a competitive global market, the manufacturing companies in Korea are recommended to put forth the necessary effort to improve their product quality, especially in terms of emotional quality.
