조형예술에서 일상 오브제(objet)의 표현에 관한 분석

본 연구는 조형예술 작품 속에서 사용된 일상의 오브제(objet)의 표현에 관한 사례 분석이다. 조형예술 작품 속 오브제들은 작가의 표현 의도와 그들의 삶 속 이야기가 담긴 내러티브(narrative)를 통해 그 의미와 형태가 다양한 시각에서 발전 되었다. 매튜 바니(Matthew Barney)와 한나 윌크(Hannah Wilk)가 사용한 오브제인 `하이힐(high heels)`을 같이 분석함으로서 남성이 투사하는 성적 욕망을 표현하는 경우와 이 표현을 거부하는 여성의 작품을 비교함으로서 조형예술 안에서 성적 욕망에 관한 하나의 담론을 이끌어 낼 수 있었다. 또한, 아네트 메사저(Annette Messager)의 작품 속 오브제인 `원피스`는 개인의 내러티브와 작가의 의도가 담긴 연출 방법을 통해 누군가의 내면을 읽을 수 있는 하나의 은유적인 `자화상`으로서 그 의미를 확장해 볼 수 있었다. 더불어, 여성 작가인 발리 엑스포트(Valie Export)와 사라 루카스(Sarah Lucas)의 자화상에 쓰인 오브제인 `담배`가 여성 작가의 자화상에서 작가의 메시지를 강조하는 효과적인 표현 도구인지에 대해서도 알아보았다. 이러한 사소한 일상의 오브제들은 조형 작품 속에서 작가의 설치 의도와 함께 감성을 드러낼 수 있는 은유적인 표현 도구로서 가치 있음을 펠릭스 곤잘레스-토레스(Felix Gonzales-Torres)의 물건들과 함께 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. 이러한 조형예술 작품 속 오브제의 표현의 사례와 함께 일상의 오브제들이, 이 오브제를 사용하는 주체인 예술가를 통해 의미 전달을 위한 `조형언어`로 가치를 지닐 수 있는지에 대해 프랑스의 사회학자 장 보드리야르(Jean Baudrillard)의 사물(objet)에 대한 해석과 더불어 조명하였고, 따라서, 조형예술 작품 속의 오브제가 기존에 가지고 있는 사용의 기능을 넘어 창의적인 조형 `언어`로 탐구될 수 있는 영역임을 제시함과 함께, 이러한 표현 사례에 관한 연구는 일상 속에서 예술가를 통해 창의적인 발견을 통한 예술의 `역할`에 대해서도 생각하는 계기를 제시 하였다. This study is a case study to express objet in daily routine that is used for plastic art. Objets in plastic arts have been advanced in terms of their various meanings and types via artists` expression intention and narrative where their life is contained. In case of `High heels` that is an objet used by Matthew Barney and Hannah Wilk, this study analyzed how usage of objets in plastic art could be different by comparing women`s views rejecting expression of sexual desire to men`s view projecting it on this objet although they are same objets and then analysed its difference. In addition, `One piece` in the art work of Annette Messager, although there isn`t a shape of character, could be extended into a metaphoric `Self-portrait` reading someone`s internal world through personal narrative and the artist`s intended expression. In addition, for `Tobacco` that is used for self-portraits of two women artists Valie Export and Sarah Lucas, this study interpreted it as a value of expression tool containing artist`s personal message toward society and its roles. This study made it possible to understand these objets in daily routine as a metaphoric tool exposing sensitivity along with artist`s installation intention and together with objects of Felix Gonzales-Torres. In terms of expression cases for objets in plastic art, this study also illuminated how these objects in daily routine could be evaluated as `Formative language` to transfer their meaning through artists who are main users for such objets along with a France socialist Jean Baudrillard`s interpretation of object, and it further analyzed that objets in plastic art could be an area to be explored by creative formative `Language` beyond their conventional usage. This study, especially such expression cases in plastic art suggested an opportunity to closely look into `Role` of art as a mediator of `Thinking` which makes it possible to find new meaning of objets in daily routine via artist`s view.

소피 칼(Sophie Calle)의 작품을 통해 본 내러티브(narrative)의 조형적 효과에 관한 분석

본 연구는 조형예술 작품에서 발전된 텍스트의 활용범위에서 이야기를 담고 있는 서술의 기능인 내러티브가 조형작품 안에 쓰였을 때의 조형적 교과와 기능에 관한 분석이다. 이를 위해, 프랑스의 조형예술가 소피 칼 (Sophie Calle)의 작품을 통해 그 활요의 예를 이해하고, 더불어 1972년 부터 나나나기 시작하여 미술사조(-ism)가 아닌 하나의 움직임(mouvement)으로 평가되엇던 ``내러티브 아트(narrative art)``를 프랑스 작가 장 르 각(Jean Le Gac)과 크리스티앙 블탕스키(Christian Boltanski)의 작품을 통해 넥스트와 이미지가 작품 안에서 현실과 상상을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 조형매체로써의 조형적 효과를 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 소피 칼의 작품과 ``내러티브 아트(narrative art)``에서 주요하게 그려내고 있는 일상 속 개인의 이야기가 어떠한 의미론적인 가치를 가질 수 있는지를 ``개인의 신화(Mythologie individuelle)``의 개념과 함께 오늘을 살고 있는 우리의 모습이 그려낼 수 있는 개인을 통한 ``신화``의 형상에 관해서도 반추해 보는 계기가 될 수 있도록 제시하였다. This research is an analysis on narrative, a descriptive method covering the story of a text developed from a plastic artwork within the scope of practical use of the text, in terms of its plastic effects and functions when used in a plastic artwork. For the research, I examined French plastic artist Sophie Calle’s artworks to understand examples of plastic art and also attempted to understand plastic effects of ‘narrative art’, which emerged in 1972 and once was regarded as a movement rather than an artistic trend (-ism), as a plastic medium that can freely express reality and imagination with texts and images, through work of French artists Jean Le Gac and Christian Boltanski. In addition to this, I would like to suggest that we contemplate what semantic values personal stories in everyday life mainly expressed in narrative art as well as Sophie Calle’s work can have, and then take time to ruminate on the shape of ‘Myth’ in each individual that a normal person living today can depict as well as the concept of ‘Individual Myths (Mythologie individuelle)’.
