Localized Fibrosing Mediastinitis Causing Pulmonary Infarction: A Case Report

A 44-year-old female patient visited our emergency room for hemoptysis and refractory chest wall pain of 2 months duration. She had no history of smoking or other medical conditions. Chest CT scan showed homogenously enhancing soft tissue mass without calcification at the left pulmonary hilum. Encasing and compression of the left lower pulmonary artery by the mass had resulted in pulmonary infarction in the left lower lobe. Laboratory tests for tuberculosis, fungus, and vasculitis were all negative. The patient underwent surgical biopsy and resection of infarcted left lower lobe that was histopathologically confirmed as fibrosing mediastinitis. Herein, we reported a rare case of surgically confirmed and treated localized fibrosing mediastinitis causing pulmonary infarction.
알루미늄으로 제작된 심해 장비의 부식 저항 능력 향상 방법 및 측정 방법 조사

본 연구에서는 알루미늄으로 제작된 심해 장비의 부식 저항 능력 향상시키기 위해 알루미늄 부식 방지 방법과 측정방법을 조사하였다. 조사된 부식 방지 방법은 Cathodic Protection(음극화 보호), Conversion Coating, Anodizing, 및 Organic Coating이었다. 그리고 간단하게 조사된 측정 방법은 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Glow discharge optical emission spectrum spectroscopy (GD-OES), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Vibrating Electrode Technique (SVET), Contact Angle(접촉각), Interfacial Tension (경계면 장력)이었다. 알루미늄 부식을 방지하기 위해 널리 사용되는 방법은 Anodizing과 Organic Coating이었으며, 부식 측정을 위해서는 여러 방법들이 골고루 사용되었다. 그 중 많이 사용되는 방법은 표면의 구조를 관찰하 위한 SEM과 부식 저항 능력을 측정하기 위한 접촉각 측정이었다. This study investigated the methodologies to enhance the corrosion resistance and the ways to measure for subsea equipment made of aluminum. The methodologies for the anticorrosion were cathodic protection, conversion coating, anodizing and organic coating. The simply analyzed ways to measure the corrosion resistance were Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Glow discharge optical emission spectrum spectroscopy (GD-OES), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Vibrating Electrode Technique (SVET), contact angle and interfacial tension. The most widely used tools for increasing the corrosion resistance were the anodizing and the organic coating. Many ways were evenly used to measure corrosion. The methods more frequently utilized were SEM for the surface investigation and the contact angle to evaluate the corrosion resistance.
Side Effects Associated with Liraglutide Treatment for Obesity as Well as Diabetes

Liraglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist used as a treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus, which has been expanded for use at a higher dose in weight control. Therefore, it is necessary to consider adverse reactions of the drug at high doses as well as at lower doses after the indication has been expanded. Body mass index criteria for patients prescribed the drug in the real world tend to be applied less rigorously, which may increase the number of adverse reactions due to over-prescription. Liraglutide treatment was found effective and safe in some studies, while others have warned about its risks. Therefore, this review summarizes the current data available on side effects associated with liraglutide.
대학의 취업지원 프로그램 참여자와 비참여자간 구직효능감과 성격5요인의 차이: 경북지역 D대학을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to identify differences in job-seeking efficacy and personality five factors between participantsin the college’s job support program and non-participants. The survey was conducted on 382 undergraduate studentsfrom D University in North Gyeongsang Province. Also, the difference between participants and non-participants in the jobsupport program was verified. The principal results were as follows. First, the results showed that job-seeking efficacy ofparticipants in job support programs was higher than that of non-participants. Second, difference between participants and non-participants in the job support program. In other words, extroversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness among thefive personality traits showed that participants in the job support program were higher than non-participants, while neurologyand openness were not significant. The findings of this study indicated that personality traits may affect that participants caninfluence whether or not they participate in job support programs, indicating the need to come up with measures to encouragenon-participating groups in the job support program to participate. 본 연구의 목적은 대학의 취업지원 프로그램 참여자와 비참여자 간에 구직효능감과 성격 5요인에 차이가 있는지를 규명하는 데있다. 이를 위해 경북지역에 소재한 D대학교 재학생 382명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였으며, 취업지원 프로그램 참여자와 비참여자 간에 차이를 검증하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 취업지원 프로그램 참여자의 구직효능감이 비참여자에 비해 더 높은것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 취업지원 프로그램 참여자와 비참여자 간 성격 5요인에 따른 차이가 발견되었다. 성격 5요인 중 외향성, 친화성, 성실성은 취업지원 프로그램 참여자가 비참여자에 비해 높게 나타났던 반면, 신경증과 개방성에 따른 차이는 유의하지 않은것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 성격적 특성이 취업지원 프로그램 참여 여부에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사함으로써 취업지원 프로그램 미 참여 집단이 취업지원 프로그램에 참여하도록 독려하기 위한 방안 마련이 필요함을 보여 주였다.
A Rare Case of Empyema Developed after Transarterial Chemoembolization for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

A 60-year-old male patient who previously underwent transarterial chemoembolization for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma three months ago presented to the emergency department with pleural effusion and hemoptysis. On serial review of plain radiographs and chest CT, transdiaphragmatic migration of Lipiodol from the treated area of the liver into the ipsilateral pleural cavity was demonstrated. The patient consequently developed empyema in the right thorax. Therefore, percutaneous drainage was performed. Empyema and pleural effusion regressed after 10 days of medical treatment and drainage. After that, the patient was transferred back to the local clinic upon full symptomatic recovery. Herein, we describe a rare complication of transarterial chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma manifesting as an empyema secondary to the migration of the ethiodized oil content from the liver into the ipsilateral pleural cavity.
