특발성 저신장 아동의 야간 성장호르몬 분비와 수면양상

목 적 : 본 연구는 저신장 소아 중 성장호르몬 약물자극검사에서는 정상반응을 나타낸 특발성 저신장 소아들을 대상으로 야간의 수면 양상과 성장호르몬 분비가 정상 신장의 아동과 차이가 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 성장호르몬 약물자극검사에서 정상반응을 보인 신장이 3 백분위수 이하인 특발성 저신장 아동 12명과 정상 신장 아동 9명을 대상으로 30분 간격으로 야간수면 동안의 자발적 성장호르몬 분비를 측정하고 동시에 polysomnography로 수면양상을 비교 분석하였다. 결 과 : 1) 야간 수면 중 분비된 성장호르몬의 평균농도는 저신장 아동군이 정상 아동군에 비해 유의하게 낮았으며($2.8{\pm}0.2 ng/mL$ vs $4.7{\pm}0.6 ng/mL$), 특히 수면개시 후 서파 수면과 동반되는 성장호르몬 최대 분비치가 저신장 아동군이 낮았다. 2) 수면 중 성장호르몬 농도가 5 ng/mL 이상인 성장호르몬 분비 최대치의 횟수는 각각 $4.1{\pm}0.5$회, $5.8{\pm}0.6$회로 저신장군이 유의하게 적었다. 3) 전체 수면 시간에 대한 서파 수면 시간의 백분율도 저신장 아동군이 정상 아동군에 비해 감소되어 있었다($16.4{\pm}1.3%$ vs $20.8{\pm}1.2%$). 결 론 : 야간 수면 동안의 자발적인 성장호르몬 분비 검사가 약물자극검사에서 정상반응을 보이는 특발성 저신장 아동의 추가적인 진단에 도움을 줄 수 있으며 이들 저신장 아동에서 보이는 야간 성장호르몬 분비 감소는 수면구조의 차이와 일부 관련이 있는 것으로 생각된다. Purpose : Pharmacologic provocation test of growth hormone(GH) is a non-physiologic method and has several limitations for diagnosing growth hormone(GH) deficiency. Spontaneous GH release studies could be important in understanding the pathophysiology of children with poor growth but normal responses to GH provocation tests. Also, the relationship between nocturnal GH secretions and sleep patterns in short stature children is poorly understood. The aim of this study is to determine whether there are differences in sleep patterns and nocturnal GH secretory profiles between idiopathic short stature children and a normal stature group. Methods : Spontaneous nocturnal GH secretions and sleep patterns were evaluated in 12 prepubertal idiopathic short stature children with normal responses to provocation tests and 9 normal stature controls. Blood samples were taken every 30 minutes from 22:00-06:30 and sleep patterns were analyzed by polysomnography. Results : The mean GH level during sleep was significantly lower in short stature children than in controls. The peak GH level after sleep, coincident with the first slow wave sleep, was lower in the short stature group. The slow wave sleep times of short stature children were decreased compared with those of normal subjects. Conclusion : These results suggest that overnight serial GH sampling is helpful to identify short stature children with subnormal GH secretions, and sleep structure differences may be associated with decreased overnight GH secretions in short stature children.

나리 LSV 제거를 위한 약제 및 열처리 효과

LSV 제거 효과를 조사하기 위하여 LSV에 감염된 나리 Casa Blanca를 재료로 기내 배양 중에 화학약제 및 열처리를 단독 또는 병형처리하였다. 단독처리시 ribavirin 20 mg/L과 열처리 35$^{\circ}C$/$25^{\circ}C$ (주간/야간)에서 식물의 생육 및 LSV 제거율(각각 86%, 80%)이 ekfs 처리보다 좋았다. 이 두 처리를 병행하였을 경우, 열처리 기간이 길수록 LSV 제거율은 증가하는 경향이었으며, 열처리 16주의 모든 처리에서 ribavirin 농도와 관계없이 100%의 LSV 제거 효과를 보였다. 토양 정식 후 LSV 무병화 정도는 ribavirin 20 mg/L 농도와 열처리 8주 병행처리에서 12개체 중 8개체가 무병화를 보여 가장 효과적이었으며, 전체 조사 수를 기준으로 했을 때 약 21% 정도의 무병화가 유지되었고, 나머지는 토양의 자연 조건에서 다시 바이러스의 복제, 증식이 되는 것으로 보인다. Effect of chemo- and thermotherapy on LSV elimination was investigated in Lilium Oriental Hybrid cv. Casa Blanca which was infected by LSV. Either 20 mg/L ribavirin or the treatment of 35$^{\circ}C$/$25^{\circ}C$ (day/night) thermotherapy resulted in the desired growth rate and high percentage (86%, 80% respectively) of LSV elimination. When we combinated those application, the rate of LSV elimination was increased with the time of heat treatment, and was 100% by all heat treatment of 16 weeks. After all of the LSV-free plants transferred into the soil, the number of LSV-free plants was 8 plants out of 12 plants and the efficiency of LSV elimination was best in the combination of 20 mg/L ribavirin and 8 weeks of heat treatment. About 21 % of plants kept LSV-free after transferred all of the LSV-free plants into the soil, the others became LSV-infected again.

김치 유산균을 이용한 감 발효음료 특성

본 연구는 대봉감을 이용한 다양한 가공제품 개발을 목적으로 김치 유산균을 활용하여 발효음료 제조기술을 확립하고, 감의 이용성을 확대하고자 실시하였다. 대봉감과 정제수의 1:3 희석액에 당원으로 쌀엿을 첨가하고, 저온살균한 후 L. buchneri BK-1 유산균으로 발효를 진행하였을 때 총산 생성능이 0.75%로 높고, 유산균 생균수가 $1.9{\times}10^8CFU/mL$ 수준으로 많았다. 쌀엿 첨가량이 많을수록 총산도는 증가하였는데, 신맛이 너무 강하지 않은 $10^{\circ}Brix$ 수준으로 쌀엿을 첨가하는 것이 기호도 향상에 좋은 것으로 조사되었다. 유산균 종류별 발효 결과, L. buchneri BK-1와 P. inopinatus BK-3 두 유산균을 이용하여 발효를 진행함으로써 총산 생성이 0.80~0.83%로 우수하고 유산균 수가 $2.7{\times}10^8{\sim}5.1{\times}10^8CFU/mL$ 수준으로 많은 음료를 제조할 수 있었다. L. buchneri BK-1 유산균을 이용하여 $30^{\circ}C$에서 발효 시 적정 발효기간은 음료의 신맛이 너무 강하지 않은 총산도 0.60% 미만인 약 4~5일이었다. This study was carried out to develop a fermented juice using persimmon (Diospyros kaki Thunb) and lactic acid bacteria isolated from kimchi, Lactobacillus buchneri BK-1, Pediococcus inopinatus BK-3 and Leuconostoc mesenteroides M-17. The total acidity value was 0.75% and viable cell number reached $1.9{\times}10^8CFU/mL$ when the persimmon and water solution was diluted by 1:3 (w/v) added with rice-syrup ($15^{\circ}Brix$) that was fermented by Lactobacillus buchneri BK-1 for 7 days. Additional levels of rice-syrup increased the total acidity of fermented juice, and the overall acceptability was the highest (4.1 point) for fermented persimmon juice added with rice-syrup $10^{\circ}Brix$. L. buchneri BK-1 and Pediococcus inopinatus BK-3 were selected to ferment the persimmon juice because there total acidity values were 0.83% and 0.80%, respectively, and the final cell concentrations, $5.1{\times}10^8$ and $2.7{\times}10^8CFU/mL$, were more than other treatment, respectively. The total acidity value of persimmon at day 3 of fermented broth were significantly higher than that of day 7 of fermented broth, and the number of viable cell declined from $8.2{\times}10^8$ to $4.3{\times}10^8CFU/mL$. In these results, the suitable period for fermentation was 4~5 days owing to the sourness being strong during fermentation.

춘성의 『처녀의 화환』엔 눈물, 탄식, 절망을 안고 이상향을 찾아가는 퇴폐적 낭만주의와 1920년대 식민지 조선의 처녀들에게 바치는 아름다운 사랑의 세레나데가 공존한다. 그리고 춘성의 개성은 단연 ‘사랑의 세레나데’에서 빛을 발한다. 춘성은 특유의 여성적 감수성으로, 부드러운 어조와 신선한 감각의 이미지로 사랑을 노래했다. 우선 춘성은 처녀의 아름다움을 노래했는데, 처녀 ‘춘향이’라는 개인이 아니라 처녀일반 즉 처녀라는 관념에 보편성을 부여했다. 돌려 말하면 처녀 개개인들에는 모두 지고지순의 아름다움이 내재되어 있다는 것이 춘성의 주장이다. 춘성의 시가 당대 소녀들에게 환영을 받았다면 바로 이 지점에서였을 것이다. 즉 소녀들은 춘성의 시를 통해 자신의 안에서 이름 없이 흩어져 있던 ‘지고지순의 아름다운 감정’을 발견했던 것이다. 물론 그것은 ‘없는’ 그러니까 문학이 지어낸 거짓낭만일지도 모른다. 또 근대의 남성중심주의적인 사고가 만들어낸 남성의 지배이데올로기 일지도 모른다. 하지만 한 가지 정확한 것은 한국시에서는 최초로 『처녀의 화환』이 ‘처녀의 아름다움’을 노래했다는 사실이다. 그리고 우리는 지금도 ‘소녀들은 순수하다는 낭만’을 의심 없이 믿고 있다. 또한 춘성은 ‘사랑지상주의’를 주창한 한국 최초의 시인이었다. 이광수의 자유연애가 ‘누구와’ 또는 ‘어떻게’ 연애를 할 것인가를 고민했다면 춘성의 자유연애는 ‘사랑 그 자체’만을 문제 삼는다. 즉 사랑으로 세계는 완성되는 것이다. 낭만주의적 사랑은 현실적으로 많은 거짓을 내포하고 있지만 동시에 무한한 가능성을 열어놓고 있는 것도 사실이다. 춘성은 첫 시집『처녀의 화환』을 통해 그리움의 방식, 고뇌의 방식, 사랑의 방식 그리하여 삶의 방식을 새롭게 조명하고 있다. In the literature of Choonsung, Wreath of Maidens, decadent romanticism that include tears, despair and hope coexist with lovely serenade for maidens from 1920 when Chosun was ruled by Japanese. The distinct character of Choonsung gets revealed in ‘Serenade for love’. The song is made with distinct feminine sensitivity, smooth tone and refreshing images. First, Choonsung sang regards the beauty of maidens and did not focus on ‘Choonhyang’ just an individual, but he wanted to focus on the universal concept of maiden. Namely, Choonsung was saying that every maiden has noble and pure beauty inside. If Choonsung was welcomed by maidens at the time, this part would be the reason for that welcome. Girls found ‘noble and pure beauty’ through poems of Choonsung and it was all scattered around before reading them. The might be false romanticism that literature has made which is not there. Also it might be male dominant ideology made from male centered thoughts in modern times. However, it is true that with Wreath of Maidens, ‘beauty of maidens’ was first covered in Korean poem. And even now we still believe the romanticism that ‘girls are pure’. Also Choonsung was first Korean poet to insist ‘love supremacy’. When Lee Gwangsoo thought about ‘who’ and ‘how’ to love, Choonsung focus only ‘love itself’. Namely, world is completed with love. Romantic love contains many lies but it is true that it involves infinite possibilities. Through Wreath of Maidens, the first poem of Choonsung, way of life is getting the spotlight with ways to miss, ways to agony and ways to love.

재발한 급성 파종성 뇌척수염 1례

Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis is acute central nervous system inflammatory demyelinating disease, severely damaging white matter and leading to marked neurologic dysfunction, may be fatal, produce permanent residual static disability. or be fully reversible. It is now believed that the experimental and the naturally occurring disease are the result of an autoimmune process. There has been a tendency to assume that only a single attack occurs. But recurrent episodes are encountered on rare occasions. We experienced a case of recurrent acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. The patient, an 5 years old girl. was readmitted by fever, headache, and lethargy. She had been diagnosed as acute disseminated encephalomyelitis at 10 months age, and showed complete recovery after steroid therpy. The history, neurologic examination, laboratory and brain MRI findings are all similar with first attack. Follow up brain MRI after 4 weeks demonstrated complete resolution of the lesions, and her clinical symptoms was also disappeared. So, we presented with brief review of the literatures.

미나리 유산균 발효음료의 품질 및 저장특성

This study was carried out to develop a dropwort(Oenanthe javanica) beverage fermented by lactic acid bacteria isolated from Kimchi. One of the lactic acid bacteria, L. inopinatus BK-3 which has high efficiency of fermentation ability, was selected. Lactic fermentation of dropwort extract added white sugar had higher level of total acidity(0.80%) than other sugars. The suitable ratio of bean sprout, optional ingredient, was 25%(w/w) that shown total acidity was 0.71%, lactic acid bacteria was 12.3(log 10 CFU/mL), overall acceptability was 4.2 point and alcoho dehydrogenase(ADH) activity was 81.9%. As the extraction yield increased, the total acidity, number of lactic acid bacteria and content of total polyphenol tended to decrease, but overall acceptability and ADH activity tend to increase. The change in total acidity and number of lactic acid bacteria were higher as the storage period increased, but the content of total polyphenol was lower. So, the suitable storage period was recommended 2 weeks at 4℃. There were no harmful microorganisms in the dropwort fermentation solution stored for 4 weeks at 4℃.
