Lower-Extremity Plyometric Training Improves Postural Stability in Young Male Athletes

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of plyometric training on the postural stability of collegiate soccer players. The study was performed on 21 collegiate soccer players(in their 20s) for 12 weeks, from April 2010 to June 2010. A one-group pretest-posttest design was used for the study. To compare the pre- and post-training, a paired t-test was performed. The mean ST significantly improved. It is believed that plyometric training can improve the postural stability of soccer players and can be used as a training program for the rehabilitation of injured soccer players.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of (a) a self stretching exercise (SSE) maintained below the level of pain with (b) physical therapy (PT) performed without pain limitation in patients with adhesive capsulitis. Methods: Forty-three subjects with frozen shoulder were recruited. Subjects were randomly assigned to one of two groups ? an experimental group (SSE group, n1=18) and a control group (PT group, n2=25). The duration of each intervention was five weeks. We assessed night pains, range of motion (ROM), and shoulder function. Results: Overall, subjects in both groups improved over five weeks (p<0.05). The change in the PT group was greater (p<0.05). Conclusion: SSE carried out under the pain threshold may be used to treat patients with adhesive capsulitis SSE can be prescribed with PT as part of a home program or of group management.

The purposes of this study were to determine the effects of lower extremity plyometric training on the proprioception and postural stability of collegiate soccer players with postural instability. The study was conducted from April 17, 2009 to September 28, 2009(for a total of 6 weeks). Ten male collegiate soccer players were enrolled into the study, then divided into two groups: the plyometric training group(PMT) and the classical postural stability training group(CPT). Plyometric training on the lower extremities showed statistically significant improvement on proprioception and postural stability(p<.05). Although not all neurophysiologic mechanisms underlying such an effect were revealed, it is proposed that plyometric training can be used as an effective training program to improve functional postural stability in soccer players with preexisting postural instability.

The primary purpose of this study was to compare the hamstring-to-quadriceps strength(H/Q) ratios in collegiate soccer players and normal age-matched healthy students, and the secondary purpose was to investigate the changes in the H/Q ratio according to the degree of knee flexion. Twenty-five subjects volunteered to participate in this study. The study group comprised 12 healthy male collegiate soccer players, and the control group, 13 healthy age-matched male collegiate students. The modified N-K table was used for isometric strength measurement(unit: N). Mann-Whitney tests were performed to determine the differences in the H/Q ratios of soccer players and age-matched students at different knee flexion angles of the dominant leg. The strength of the hamstring muscle in the study group was significantly lower than that observed in the control group at knee flexion angles of 60° (p<.001), 90° (p<.01), and 120° (p<.05). The strength of the quadriceps muscle in the study group was significantly higher than that observed in the control group at flexion angles of 30° (p<.001) and 60° (p<.05). The H/Q ratios in the study and control groups differed significantly at all angles (60°, p<.001 90°, p<.001 and 120°, p<.001).
통화정책 운용방식 전환에 관한 연구-지준부리 통화정책레짐의 도입

Recently, financial innovation and rapid technological progress in the payments system caused the transaction demand for base money(bank reserves and currency) to shrink significantly, and even to disappear completely. Such developments would threaten a central bank's leverage over interest rates in the future. On the other hand, boom-bust cycles of credits and asset bubbles due to the excessive creation of private credits could threaten severely financial stability, even though a general price level is staying low and stable.In order to preserve a central bank's leverage over interest rates in the future, and to effectively pursue financial stability, it should be desirable to adopt the interest-on-reserves regime. By paying and varying interest on reserves, a central bank could fully exert leverage over interest rates, even if the transaction demand for monetary base should shrink further or perhaps disappear completely in the future. Moreover, a central bank could use separate bank reserves and interest rate policies in the interest-on-reserves regime, while bank reserves and the interest rate cannot be targeted independently in the current operating procedures. Thus, bank reserves policy could be utilized to stabilize financial markets, while the interest rate policy could be used to pursue the price stability. 최근 들어 금융혁신과 전자지급결제수단 발달 등으로 본원통화에 대한 수요가 지속적으로 감소함에 따라 중앙은행의 금리조절 능력의 약화가 우려되고 있다. 한편에서는 일반물가가 안정된 가운데 과다한 신용창출에 따른 자산가격 거품의 확산 및 붕괴과정이 금융안정을 심각하게 위협하고 있다.중앙은행이 금리조절 능력을 확보하고 금융불안에 효과적으로 대처하기 위해서는 지준부리 통화정책레짐(interest-on-reserves regime)을 도입하는 것이 바람직하다. 지준부리레짐에서는 앞으로 본원통화 수요가 크게 감소하거나 소멸되더라도 중앙은행은 단기금리 조절능력을 확실하게 확보할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 금리와 지준이 독립적인 정책수단으로 분리될 수 있기 때문에 금리는 물가안정 목적으로, 지준은 금융안정 목적으로 사용할 수 있다.
