Examined the characteristics of the students who entered Duksung Women's University in 2004. The total number of 1163(out of 1290) undergraduates completed an autobiographical questionnaire which inquires about demographic variables, family environment, satisfaction with the university, expectancies of a campus life, value system, self-concept, and lecture subject Results show that a majority of the students were graduated from high schools located in Seoul or its vicinity. Both of their parents are alive, in the middle or higher socioeconomic groups and of high educational accomplishment(at the lowest, high school graduates). One of the replicated findings is that students are highly interested in career development. A great proportion of the students reported that they entered the college for the purpose of career preparation. The results also indicate that many students have chosen our university solely based on their grades. And many students report that they are satisfied with their choice, which is very encouraging. Other results such as the characteristics unique to each college are also summarized and several suggestions are presented in the discussion section.

2005학년도 덕성여자대학교 신입생 및 그 가정의 제반특성을 파악하기 위하여 인적사항, 가정환경, 입학 만족도, 대학생활, 가치관, 자신에 대한 지각, 강의주제 등에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 신입생 1,290명 중 응답자 1138명의 자료를 분석하여 각 문항 별로 신입생 전체는 물론 각 학부의 응답 빈도 및 비율을 제시하였다. 되풀이 확인된 결과로는 우선, 대다수의 학생들이 수도권지역의 고등학교를 졸업하였으며 중산층 이상의 가정 출신이라는 점이다. 대부분 부모가 모두 생존해 계시고 고졸이상의 학력을 가지고 있다. 두 번째, 학생들은 취업에 큰 관심을 가지고 있으며 장래 취업을 준비하기 위해 대학에 진학했다고 답한 경우가 많았다. 이외에도 대학별 특징 등 중요한 결과들을 논의에서 요약하였다. 그리고 그 결과들이 시사하는 바를 제안하였다. 환봉샤프트와 드리프트 핀을 이용한 모멘트저항 접합부의 개발

Recently, there is a movement to look at the possibilities of making "green" wooden structures viable in Korea. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of using mechanical fasteners to design a pre-cut timber structure using fast growing "Sugi" mass produced glulam and moment resisting joints designed via a CAD/CAM system. We proposed a structure design based on using pre-stressed joints that consist of a threaded steel shaft and drift pin. We conducted cyclic loading tests on two types of joints, T -beam-column joint- and I -column base joint- to investigate the mechanical characteristics properties of these two joint forms. Our tests yielded conclusive evidence that incipient slip and statistical dispersion is improved by press-in dowel and pre-stress torque. By modeling the spring elements relating to the moment transfer; we derived a calculation formula in the rotation rigidity and the yield moment of the joint. When compared with the averages of experimental results, the numerical results obtained by the calculation formula ranged from 74 percent to 108 percent.

A new type of connection by threaded steel shaft and drift pin has been developed. In this paper, the cyclic loading tests were conducted on moment-resisting timber frames with the connection detail. And a simplified analysis model was developed to present the test results. In this analysis model, it was assumed that the length of timber frame members, except for the plastic hinge zone, is elastic. A tri-linear model for beam-column connection and column-base connection was derived from previous component test results. Rotational rigidity values defined by tri-linear model were applied to the end of timber frame members. Comparing the results obtained from the cyclic loading tests and the results calculated by the analysis model, the validity of the modeling was confirmed. However, the breaking point of timber frame cannot be found by this model.
