The expression of BCL-2 interacting cell death suppressor (BIS), an antistress or anti-apoptotic protein, has been shown to be regulated at the transcriptional level by heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) upon various stresses. Recently, HSF1 was also shown to bind to BIS, but the significance of these protein-protein interactions on HSF1 activity has not been fully defined. In the present study, we observed that complete depletion of BIS using a CRISPR/Cas9 system in A549 non-small cell lung cancer did not affect the induction of heat shock protein (HSP) 70 and HSP27 mRNAs under various stress conditions such as heat shock, proteotoxic stress, and oxidative stress. The lack of a functional association of BIS with HSF1 activity was also demonstrated by transient downregulation of BIS by siRNA in A549 and U87 glioblastoma cells. Endogenous BIS mRNA levels were significantly suppressed in BIS knockout (KO) A549 cells compared to BIS wild type (WT) A549 cells at the constitutive and inducible levels. The promoter activities of BIS and HSP70 as well as the degradation rate of BIS mRNA were not influenced by depletion of BIS. In addition, the expression levels of the mutant BIS construct, in which 14 bp were deleted as in BIS-KO A549 cells, were not different from those of the WT BIS construct, indicating that mRNA stability was not the mechanism for autoregulation of BIS. Our results suggested that BIS was not required for HSF1 activity, but was required for its own expression, which involved an HSF1-independent pathway.

위드코로나 정책이 온라인 피트니스 콘텐츠의 시청자 참여도에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증 연구

2020년 시작된 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인하여 많은 국가에서 사회적 거리두기 정책을 실시하였고 그로 말미암아 물리적인 제한에 구애 받지 않는 온라인 피트니스 산업이 큰 성장을 하였다. 그러나 사회적 거리두기 정책이 경제에 부정적인 영향을 미친다고 판단한 우리나라 정부는 2021년 11월 1일 위드코로나 정책을 시행하면서 팬데믹 이전의 일상으로의 회복을 선언하였고, 이에 따라 온라인 피트니스 산업의 성장 동력의 손실에 대한 우려가 제기되었다. 본 연구는 위드코로나 정책의 시행이 온라인 피트니스 콘텐츠 소비 및 참여도에 어떠한 변화를 가져왔는지 준실험 설계를 활용하여 파악하였다. YouTube의 온라인 피트니스 콘텐츠를 활용하여 분석한 결과, 위드코로나 정책 시행 감소했을 것이라는 우려와는 달리 온라인 피트니스 콘텐츠의 시청 지표는 오히려 약 21% 증가한 양상이 나타났다. 하지만 이러한 양상은 운동 종목의 기회 비용에 따라 다르게 나타났으며, 부분 집단 분석을 통해서 고비용 집단의 온라인 콘텐츠의 시청 지표만이 약 32%로 저비용 집단에 비해서 더 큰 폭으로 증가한 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 분석 결과를 토대로 온라인 피트니스 콘텐츠의 성격과 강점을 파악하였으며 온라인 피트니스 플랫폼 비즈니스와 콘텐츠 제작자들에게 실무적인 제언을 제공하면서 포스트-코로나 시기의 “뉴노멀”에 적응할 수 있는 새로운 시사점을 제시하였다.

Utilization and Significance of Shared Bicycles in Low-income Neighborhoods Amid Subway Flood Damage

This research explores the critical importance of addressing equity concerns in the application of information technologies, specifically in disaster management. we emphasize the disproportionate impact of disasters on individuals from different socioeconomic backgrounds, focusing on the economic burdens faced by low-income groups. The study highlights the potential role of IT-enabled shared bike share systems, as supplementary transportation options during disasters. This study also raises concerns about the equity issues within these bike-share systems, where they tend to serve higher-income individuals. The research question centers on how low-income individuals utilize bike share systems in the aftermath of public transportation disruptions caused by natural disasters, using the 2021 New York subway flooding from Hurricane Ida as a case study. This study employs a quasi-experimental design to measure the impact and provides insights into the role of IT-enabled shared mobility in disaster recovery, particularly for vulnerable populations.

기업의 아이디어 산실이며 중요 결정이 이루어지는 회의실은 평상시 출입의 보안이나 공동사용의 측면에서 관리가 필요하다. 하지만 대부분의 회의실 예약은 회의실의 수용인원이나 설치된 장비 및 사용자의 인원이나 요구 장비에 크게 상관하지 않는 비효율적인 선점형(FCFS) 방식을 따르고 있으며 예약을 관리부에 가서 예약대장에 직접 작성해야 하는 불편함이 있다. 또한 웹을 이용한 예약시스템은 회의 참여자에 대한 정보 없이 단순히 예약사항만을 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 개선하기 위해서 유비쿼터스 시대에 핵심 기술인 RFID와 편리하게 접근 가능한 웹을 이용하여 효율적이고 편리한 솔루션을 설계 및 구현하였다.
