The antitumor activity of the roots extract of Pueraria thunbergiana was investigated on the basis of cytotoxicity upon the cultured human tumor cell lines, in vitro. The purification of methylene chloride (MC) soluble part and ethylacetate (EA) soluble part of extract by column chromatography furnished seven isoflavonoids, two triterpenoids, one but-2-enolide. The structures of them were established by chemical and spectroscopic means to be lupeol (1), β-sitosterol (2), biochanin A (3), (-)-tuberosin (4), calycosin (5), daidzein (6), puerarin (7), daidzin (8), (+)-puerol-B 2-O-β-glucopyranoside (9), formononetin- 7-O-β-glucopyranoside (10). Each isolates (1~10) were evaluated for inhibitory activities on the proliferation of cultured human tumor cell lines such as A549, SK-OV-3, HCT-15 and SK-MEL-2, respectively.
Vol.43 No.4
With a cloud storage service, data owners can easily access their outsourced data in cloud storage on different devices and at different locations, and can share their data with others. However, as the users no longer physically have possession of their outsourced data and the cloud still facing the existence of internal/external threats, the task of checking the data integrity is formidable. Over recent years, numerous schemes have been proposed to ensure data integrity in an untrusted cloud. However, the existing public auditing schemes use a third-party auditor(TPA) to execute high computation to check data integrity and may still face many security threats. In this paper, we first demonstrate that the scheme proposed by Zhang et al. is not secure against our two threat models, and then we propose a self-certified public auditing scheme to eliminate the security threats and guarantee a constant communication cost. Moreover, we prove the securities of our public auditing scheme under three security models.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the experience of patients undergoing one or more implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) shocks in Korea. Methods: A qualitative research method was adopted for the study. The data were collected from iterative work through in-depth interviews and analyzed using Giorgi’s phenomenological approach. Results: A total of nine patients (average age=51.1 years; males=6) were interviewed. Analysis revealed four common constituents: (a) no choice but to have an ICD implanted, (b) ICD shocks are pain that must be endured, (c) life in a shell, and (d) nevertheless, ICD is a partner in life. The structure of the experience of patients with ICD shocks was “accepting ICD as a partner in life”. Conclusion: The findings suggested that ICD shocks can trigger negative effects in patients both physically and emotionally. Nurses should recognize the need to develop nursing interventions that can support patients who experience ICD shocks to accept ICD positively and cope with changes.

Compounds of isolated from roots extract of Pueraria thunbergiana were tested their inhibitory effects on $\alpha$-glucosidase and $\alpha$-amylase. Inhibitory activity of methylene chloride (MC) fraction and ethyl acetate (EA) fraction against $\alpha$-glucosidase showed more than 60% at a concentration of $500{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. Among the nine compounds tested on $\alpha$-glucosidase, biochanin A, (-)-tuberosin and calycosin from MC fraction and daidzein from EA fraction were stronger inhibitors than acarbose ($IC_{50}=530{\mu}g/m{\ell}$), and their $IC_{50}$ were 9, 144, 328 and $20{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, respectively. Biochanin A and (-)-tuberosin also inhibited $\alpha$-amylase activity as like as acarbose $IC_{50}=20.5{\mu}g/m{\ell}$), and their $IC_{50}$ were 22 and $348{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, respectively. Although daidzein was already known $\alpha$-glucosidase inhibitory effects, it was newly evaluated that biochanin A and (-)-tuberosin inhibited $\alpha$-glucosidase as well as $\alpha$-amylase, and that calycosin did $\alpha$-glucosidase.

Objective : Delayed bleeding and back pain are major concerns in who receive coronary angiography. We investigated the six different post-procedure during recovery from coronary angiography. The six post-procedures were as following: elevation of the head of the bed(flat versus 15-30 degree), application of sandbag on the puncture site(use versus no use) and prolongation of immobilization time(4 versus 8 hours). The primary goal of this study was to promote less post-procedural discomfort and therefore improve clinical outcome of coronary angiography. Design : Experimental, pretest-posttest, random assignment Sample : From July 2000 to January 2001, 102 patients underwent coronary angiography through femoral artery cardiology at Samsung Medical Center. Intervention : 1. The elevation of the head of the bed : control group(n=22) with 0 degree elevation versus the experimental group(n=20) with 15~30 degrees 2. The use of sandbag on the puncture site : control group(n=20) with sandbag versus the study group (n=20) without sandbag. 3. The duration of immobilization after angiography control group with 4 hours immobilization(n=20) versus the experimental group(n=20) with 8 hrs. Intervention 2 & 3 were cross tested. For 24hours after cardiac angiography, the nurse reported the presence of complication on the assessment tool (bleeding, hematoma formation, back pain and uninary retention) Results 1. Hemodynamic and angiographic variables were evenly distributed and the basic characteristics of study groups were similar. 2. The degree of elevation of the head of the bed, there's no significant differences in bleeding complications, low back pain and urinary discomfort in both groups. 3. For the effects of sandbag, there were no significant differences in bleeding complication, low back pain and urinary discomfort in both experimental and control group, and not related with the length of the time for immobilization 4. There was no significant difference between four and eight hour immobilization groups with no sandbag application in bleeding complication. There was significant decrease in incidence of patient's subjective discomfort and low back pain after four hour immobilization. The incidence of bleeding complications was not increased in any study groups. Therefore, we recommend shorter length of immobilization time(4 hours in our study) at patient's convenience in order to decrease patient's discomfort. The application of sandbag and the head elevation of the bed may be optional since it did not decrease immediate complications of angiography.
