본 연구는 청소년의 대인환경과 대인성향이 청소년의 인터넷 몰입에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구대상은 전라남도에 위치한 중소도시와 농어촌지역의 중․고등학교에 재학중인 남녀 청소년 287명이었다. 조사에는 ‘인구사회학적 배경’, ‘대인환경’, ‘대인성향’, ‘인터넷몰입’을 알아보기 위한 척도와 문항이 사용되었다. 조사를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구사회학적 배경변인중 청소년의 인터넷몰입은 응답자의 성과 유의한 관련성을 가진 반면, 학교급, 부모의 교육수준, 가정의 경제적 수준, 학교성적과는 유의한 관련성을 가지지 않았다. 둘째, 대인환경변인중 부-모간의 관계만이 청소년의 인터넷 몰입과 의의있는 관련성을 가졌으며, 형제자매 관계, 부모-자녀관계, 친구관계는 의의있는 관련성을 갖지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대인관계의 성격적 특성에 해당하는 청소년의 대인기피 성향은 인터넷몰입과 유의한 정적상관을 나타냈다. 넷째, 청소년의 인터넷 몰입에 대한 대인환경변인과 대인성향변인의 고유설명량을 비교한 결과 대인환경이 대인성향보다 더 큰 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 본 연구결과들이 갖는 시사점 및 제한점이 논의되었다. This study aimed to test and compare the effects of interpersonal environments and disposition of adolescents' internet-immersions. The study assumed that adolescents' environmental and dispositional difficulties in interpersonal settings might cause them to be absorbed in using inter-net. 287 middle and high school students responded to the questionnaires asking about their demographic information, perceptions of significant others as interpersonal environments, interpersonal dispositions, and their using inter-net. Adolescents' using inter-net has significant relationships with their sexes, mother-father relationships, interpersonal dispositions, but not with sibling, child-parent, peer relationships, and other demographic variables such as grades, SES, etc. Males use inter-net significantly more than females. The more negatively adolescents perceived mother-father relations, the more they were absorbed in inter-net. And adolescents' personal difficulties in interpersonal relationships were positively related to their internet-immersions. A series of hierarchical multiple regression analyses were performed, controlling for demographic variables, to compare the effects of environmental variable group and dispositional variable of interpersonal setting on their internet-immersions. Both groups of variables showed significant effects to explain the dependent variable. But interpersonal disposition variable could be stronger in explaining internet-absorption than the counterpart. All these findings were discussed for policy makers, practitioners, and researchers.
