The primary purpose of this study is to investigate punching shear strength of flat plate slab which the length of the column perimeter was held constant and the aspect ratio varied. In this study, six flat plate slab specimens connected to normal and high strength concrete column having aspect ratio between 2.0 and 4.5 have been made and tested. As increased column aspect ratios, the punching shear strengths are decreased but the reducing values were not much than KCI and ACI Code's prediction in the column aspect ratio over 3.5.

In this thesis I classified the interests in the world of the 1910`s important pieces of novel, and the motifs of it. And I understood the contents of each text as the combination of produced motifs, and the selection and combination of motifs as the contents formation of the novels, and I saw the viewpoint of author in it. Yi Haejo, one of the most diligent author of early 1910`s, regarded the making of ``home`` most important, and his texts` ending showed ``marriage-success motif`` or ``life-success motif. In 1912~1916, the text including ``free-love motif`` first appeared, and good pieces in which individual`s desire oppose with the worth of ``home`` such as ``first-love-failure motif``, ``men`s love competition motif``, ``married woman`s corruption motif``. Especially 「Janghanmong(長恨夢)」realized the idea and by-products of free love combining ``men`s-love-competition motif`` and ``woman`s mind-change motif``. In 1917~1919, the interest on the individual most increased, and the texts in this time described not only the outer accidents resulted from the desire of each person, but also the inner side of individual. For example, Yi Gwang-su`s 「Mujeong(無情)」 is the combined form of broken-engagement motif and man`s mind-change motif. And it showed that the engagement-medieval institution-couldn`t break the will of individual, and for this reason it described the inner side of each person very wordily. And Hyun, Sang-yun`s 「persecution」 and Yang Geon-sik`s 「Sorrowful contradiction」 tried ``intellect-frustration motif``, and they pioneered the method of combining description with the society-cognition to prevent it fall to confession on self or apology.

The purpose of this study is twofold: I want to investigate the circumstance of making Korean and Japanese writing of Kim So-woon and understand the world of life-long texts produced by him consistently. Kim was perfect Korean, but he went into Japan in very early age, so acquired Japanese language thoroughly in Japanese dirt. He never doubted his identity as a Korean, but he raised himself under the Japanese influence because of circumstance factors. Kim, like almost every Korean modern writer, received the influence of Japanized western literature before having perceived the native cultural tradition sufficiently. Moreover, the intensity of influence he received by Japan was far more powerful than others because of his early visit to and settlement in Japan. Especially Kim had become cultured about the knowledge on modern poetry by reading many Japanized western anthology particularly during the late Meiji and early Taish? period. Individually Kim was conscious that he was neutral between Korea and Japan, however, he was adapted too far to the Japanese intellectual society. So he should have found the equilibrium between the past and the present; the past that his own root is inevitably in Korea, and the present that his life environment is actually nearer to Japan than to Korea. Such being the case, Kim`s own choice was translating, not Japanese culture into Korean, but Korean into Japanese, so introducing it to Japanese readers. Kim collected Korean folk songs extensively to compile them in the shape of 1933`s Collection of Joseon Folks Songs by Korean Alphabet, some parts of which were translated and then published Collection of Joseon Children`s Songs(1933) and Collection of Joseon Folk Songs(1933) respectively. He succeeded, to some extent, in delivering relatively simple Korean folk songs in the form acceptable to Japanese readers. But Kim So-woon had big difficulty in translating Korean modern poetry of full-scale composed under the overwhelming impact of Japanese and western literature, both because the aspects of modern Korean poetry in a creational stage varied and because it was originally impossible to fully represent the phonetic features of Korean language which is the essence of modern Korean poetry through Japanese language. Kim confessed an unsatisfied feeling that he couldn`t translate the soft resonance of Korean language into Japanese in his famous Japanized anthology of Korean poetry, Chosun sijip(1943). Indeed, what he made in Chosun sijip was a bundle of Japanized poems indited originally in Korean, so his task of translation reached the limit.

In Korea, the 20th century was not only politically critical period but also the starting point of the modern public language education. As the model of western linguistics was introduced, a new grammatic unit was formed. Moreover, Korean written language was admitted as the effective method of public communication in the first time in Korean history. But Korean written language was situated in the difficulty of not having the official position because of the characteristic of korean lingustic history. So it needed a new model at the three point as follows; the concept of language, the formation of word, the organization of sentence. Korean language education was endeavoring to be capable of carry out this problem on its own power. First of all, Korean Language(國語) or ‘Chosun language(朝鮮語)’ was established as the independent curriculum. And the contents of Korean language(國語) was formed as students could learn the words and sentences step by step on the assumption of the modern lingustic knowledge. As a result, the style of Chinese writing(漢文體) was deconstructed by the appearance of the style of half-Korean-half-Chinese writing(國漢文體). And the necessity of new sentence model designed on the phonography arose according to this trend.

This thesis aims to analyze the characteristics of the Chinese character which was the instrument of the lingual life of the traditional Korea. The meaning of Chinese character indicates the real things by the empirical situation. And this characteristic is considered here similar to the painting which is a direct representation of the things that are included there. As a result two meaningful phenomena are induced as follows * (a) one character corresponds to several meanings (一字多義)(b) one meaning corresponds to several characters(一義多字). The phenomenon (a) is accomplished by the heaving of the meaning, what is called ‘Insin(引伸)’. This results from the situational similarity which the Chinese character designates by its form On the contrary, the phenomenon (b) is the reflection of the quality of the semi-painting on the range of the formation of the new character. This thesis has the significance not only because it clarified the characteristics of the Chinese character, but also because it standed out the semantic quality of the Korean vocabulary which was compared to the classical Chinese vocabulary.
