        한국어 글쓰기를 위한 동서양 작문사의 비교연구

        이 글은 한국어의 언어존재론적 문제를 기반으로 하여 작문의 역사를 살펴보고, 서양문화와 접촉하는 가운데서 바르게 한국어로 글쓰는 문제를 다룬 원론적 연구다. 한국어는 본래 어휘부의 상당 부분을 한자어로 구성하고 있는데다가 서양문화와 접촉한 이후 상당수의 개념어휘들이 서양고전어에 뿌리를 두게 되었고, 이로 인해 한자로 표기되어야 하지만 근원은 서양어이고, 실제로는 한글로 적는 상당한 국적불명의 어휘를 보유하게 되었다. 필자는 이러한 문제가 주요 개념어의 어원사전을 새롭게 씀으로써 해결될 수 있다고 보고, 한국어학자와 서양고전문헌학자들의 협력이 필요함을 밝혔다. 또한 아리스토텔레스의 전승과 번역사를 중심으로 서유럽 작문사의 발달 과정을 살펴본 뒤, 한국의 작문사와 비교함으로써 한국에 특수한 사정을 밝혔다. 한국은 중세 내내 중국문화의 막강한 영향 하에서 훈고주석학의 발달에 따른 엄밀한 문헌전통을 갖고 있었으나, 동시에 자국어에 대한 존중의식이 부족했다. 오늘날 한국어 글쓰기가 제대로 이루어지기 위해서는 서양어의 자국어 번역이 엄밀한 기준에 입각해 이루어져야 하고, 이를 지원하기 위해 개념 번역사에 대한 합당한 이해를 바탕으로 자연스러운 우리말 어휘가 확충돼야 한다고 보았다. In this thesis I tried to study the history of writing in Korea in respect of the lingual-ontological problem in Korea, and to make clear how to write in Korean righteously in contact with western culture. To say nothing of the fact that a considerable part of Korean language consists of Chinese characters, large portion of Korean terminologies has become rooted in western classical language: Greek and Latin. So Korean have come to maintain a great number of unclear words which must be transcribed in Chinese character, but whose origin is Greek or Latin, and written in Korean alphabet. I suggest we can overcome this problem by newly composing etymology dictionary of primary concept terms, in cooperation of Korean language scholars and western classical philologists. And I make bright Korean special case of writing history, comparing it with the western one focusing on the transmission and translation of Aristotle. Chinese culture had been dominant in medieval Korea, so Korea has had a strict literature tradition resulting from the development of exegetical studies, but it lacked the esteem in national oral language and its alphabet. To make today`s Korean writing properly, we must translate western literature into Korean according to a distinct and rigid standard. To support this, fluent Korean vocabulary must be increased using appropriate understanding of translation history of academical terms.

        일반논문 : 김소운의 글쓰기 환경과 번역 작업에 대한 고찰

        The purpose of this study is twofold: I want to investigate the circumstance of making Korean and Japanese writing of Kim So-woon and understand the world of life-long texts produced by him consistently. Kim was perfect Korean, but he went into Japan in very early age, so acquired Japanese language thoroughly in Japanese dirt. He never doubted his identity as a Korean, but he raised himself under the Japanese influence because of circumstance factors. Kim, like almost every Korean modern writer, received the influence of Japanized western literature before having perceived the native cultural tradition sufficiently. Moreover, the intensity of influence he received by Japan was far more powerful than others because of his early visit to and settlement in Japan. Especially Kim had become cultured about the knowledge on modern poetry by reading many Japanized western anthology particularly during the late Meiji and early Taish? period. Individually Kim was conscious that he was neutral between Korea and Japan, however, he was adapted too far to the Japanese intellectual society. So he should have found the equilibrium between the past and the present; the past that his own root is inevitably in Korea, and the present that his life environment is actually nearer to Japan than to Korea. Such being the case, Kim`s own choice was translating, not Japanese culture into Korean, but Korean into Japanese, so introducing it to Japanese readers. Kim collected Korean folk songs extensively to compile them in the shape of 1933`s Collection of Joseon Folks Songs by Korean Alphabet, some parts of which were translated and then published Collection of Joseon Children`s Songs(1933) and Collection of Joseon Folk Songs(1933) respectively. He succeeded, to some extent, in delivering relatively simple Korean folk songs in the form acceptable to Japanese readers. But Kim So-woon had big difficulty in translating Korean modern poetry of full-scale composed under the overwhelming impact of Japanese and western literature, both because the aspects of modern Korean poetry in a creational stage varied and because it was originally impossible to fully represent the phonetic features of Korean language which is the essence of modern Korean poetry through Japanese language. Kim confessed an unsatisfied feeling that he couldn`t translate the soft resonance of Korean language into Japanese in his famous Japanized anthology of Korean poetry, Chosun sijip(1943). Indeed, what he made in Chosun sijip was a bundle of Japanized poems indited originally in Korean, so his task of translation reached the limit.

        국문 글쓰기의 문장 모델 형성 과정 연구 -유교 경서와 성서의 언해 양상을 중심으로-

        In this thesis, I tried to investigate the process of translating Confucian and Christian classics - written in Chinese - into Korean according to the trend of modernization. In Korea, the translation of Classics into Korean corresponded to the destruction of Chinese writing. And I supposed that such destruction resulted in a model of modern Korean writing, In pre-modern age, the translation into Korean had been accomplished in the range of Confucian Classics only. But in this case, the unity of speech and writing couldn't be realized because the Confucian classic contained a variety of contents and many abstract terms. So Korean translation in pre-modern age was in fact not a translation true to the name but a assistant material of the Chinese writing. However, the translation of Bible into Korean was attained mainly in the late 19th century, and the Christians want to have a independent-of-Chinese text because of the democracy of their religious faith. I took notice of the Bible translation done by Yi, soo-jung(1842~1886). He came in contact with the Bible translated in Chinese by Japanese edition, so he knew the Japanese method of translating Chinese writing, Yomikudasi(讀み下だし). He made Korean Bible text by both gugyol(口訣) and Korean translation, but he exerted himself on the latter under the influence of Yomikudasi. And he got a great fruit in the history of forming the model of modern Korean sentence. We can evaluate that his translation approached to the colloquial model of modern Korean sentence independent of the original text.

        쓰기 교육의 기원과 발달에 대한 연구-‘재현(再現)’과 ‘표현(表現)’의 발생을 중심으로-

        This study investigated the formation of communication education which is based on the contemporary language education. Concretely I watched chronologically the proportion of culture element and behavior element, its change, and the contents of writing education. To achieve this, I took the ancient Greek language education as the main materials. The sophists are right if we think only the empirical world, because of the changeability of external world and the relativity of sense. On the other hand, Platon emphasized the ability of abstract thought which is inherent in the human inside. But today's education only emphasizes the 'expression' which came from the Platonic thought. So students fills their devastated inside with arbitrary idea in this history-forgotten social circumstance. It is very beneficial to make subject have some cultural studies and to enhance the sensation on the world through the writing of representation because these can be good to the growth of subject. It is our―not as educator but as a predecessor of human being―duty to set the catalogue of cultural studies of this age and to make students feel the fundamental harmony and the beauty of the world.

        김기수의 『일동기유(日東記游)』에 나타난 대외 공간 인식 연구

        This study investigated the cognition of external space of medieval gentry. Concretely I examined the official record of travel-『Ildonggiyu(日東記游)』, so as to enlighten the change of space cognition. Kim kisu, the author of 『Ildonggiyu(日東記游)』, showed some unique cognition on the negotiation with Japanese. He didn't want to watch the foreign matters, and he didn't have the intention to show his interest or another. He had the strong will to stay in the medieval space cognition. Medieval external space cognition was hierarchic and vertival order. This cognition was void of physical measure about the world so western invasion and their commercial intention which were full of scientific knowledge overwhelmed it. This can be regarded as the limitation of medieval space cognition, and it is based on the natural world-view which saw the expansion and opening desirable. This study pursued the equilibrium of space cognition between medieval and modern.

        고전산문교육 연구의 반성과 전망

        이 글은 최근에 발표된 고전산문교육 연구 논문들을 살펴봄으로써 연구 현황을 개관하고, 모자란 점이나 개선할 점 등을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 필자는 고전산문교육의 연구 결과와 아울러 연구의 방향성에 대한 제안을 담았다. 고전산문교육 연구는 크게 실용적 방향과 본질론적 방향으로 나누어지는데, 실용적 방향의 연구로는 고전산문을 활용한 문학치료학 연구, 고전산문을 현재의 교육 패러다임에 종속시키는 연구, 국어교육과정 내 고전산문 교육의 위상과 방법 연구가 있었다. 본질론적 방향의 연구로는 고전의 가치에 대한 철학적·지식사회학적 탐구, 고전의 이해 지평을 확장하여 현대적으로 변용하는 연구가 있었다. 필자는 실용성 중심의 고전산문교육 연구가 본질론 중심의 고전산문교육 연구로 전환해야 한다는 것을 주장하였으나, 가장 바람직한 것은 본질을 훼손하지 않은 고전산문 교육 자료가 많이 생산되어 그것이 실용성을 띠고, 고전에 익숙하고 문화가 고양된 세계를 만드는 것이라고 보았다. This thesis aims to investigate the theses of the education of Korean classical prose, so survey the outline of contemporary research trend. I intended to the direction of research of the education of Korean classical prose, in addition to the presentation of the results of research. The study on the education of Korean classical prose is divided into two sections. one is the practical, the other is substantial. The practical trend includes: (1) the study of literary therapy using Korean classical prose (2) the study making Korean classical prose as the servant of present education paradigm (3) the study of the situation and method of Korean classical prose. The substantial trend includes: (1) the study on the value of Korean classical prose in the viewpoint of philosophy and sociology of knowledge (2) the study on the transformation of Korean classical prose into the contemporary. I insisted that the trend of the study on Korean classical prose must be directed from the practical to the substantial. But it is most desirable that nice materials of education be presented and those be practical.

        『한성순보(漢城旬報)』의 글쓰기 인식에 대한 연구

        In this thesis, I tried to clarify the understanding of the writing in Hansungsunbo(漢城旬報). Hansungsunbo brought outer informations to write article, so it contributed to deconstruct the writing genre of Chinese writing. But those articles usually used the traditional writing genre of Chinese writing, so some confusion appeared. Prominently we can raise the style of nonsul (論說), but this is not a complete writing genre but a temporary form. So it disappeared in a short time, it even took didactic materials for its main contents. The systematical device which the writing of Hansungsunbo takes as its basis was only the translations of foreign newspapers, a few pioneers supported this. so its foundation was very weak. It is also doubtful if the trial of Hansungsunbo to escape medieval writing was voluntary or not. But the groping of Hansungsunbo is itself the precious cultural event to take notice of in the view of the modernization of writing.

      • 19세기 한일 학술 근대화 과정에 대한 비교 연구 -"언어"의 문제를 중심으로-

        19세기부터 본격적으로 이루어졌던 조선과 그 연속인 한국의 학술적 근대화는 일본이라는 매개를 통해 이루어졌다. 본고는 근대화의 수단으로 가장 중요한 것들 가운데 하나였던 언어의 문제를 지식인의 근대적 문필 능력 형성 과정의 측면에서 살펴보았다. 본고는 ``일본을 매개로 한 한국의 근대화``라는 구도를 설명하기 위해 다음 몇 가지 지점을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 첫째, 일본의 학술 근대화 과정에 대한 상대주의적 반성이다. 이것은 일본의 근대화를 일본의 ``근대화``가 아닌 ``일본``의 근대화로 이해하는 것을 의미한다. 근대화가 자본주의적 생산양식의 확립과 국민국가의 형성을 기본 골자로 한다는 점은 부정할 수 없는 것이지만, 이러한 도식적 이해는 근대화의 단위인 국가의 역사, 풍토, 환경, 그밖의 비물질적 요소들이 미치는 독특한 사회 환경에 대한 이해를 가로막을 수 있다고 보았다. 둘째, 한국이 서구의 학술과 근대 문화를 받아들인 과정이다. 서구 학술의 수용이 일본을 통해 이루어졌다는 것은 오늘날의 상식이지만, 그 구체적인 양상에 대한 이론적, 실증적 연구는 풍부하지 않다. 문화의 수용이란 사절단의 파견, 유학, 독서, 연설 등 다양한 인간의 행위 양태를 포괄하는 것일 터이다. 그리고 이는 지식과 태도의 전달이라는 측면에서 파악해야 하는 만큼 교육사, 특히 교육 제도사적 검토를 필요로 한다. 셋째, 한국과 일본의 전근대 언어 상태와 그 근대적 전환을 실증적으로 검토하는 일이다. 일본의 전근대 언어 상태는 한문체와 화문체의 공존이었다는 점에서 한문체와 국문체를 바탕으로 전개된 한국과 유사한 것으로 이해되고 있다. 그러나 일본의 화문체는 국문체에 비해서 시각적으로는 한문에 가깝고 청각적으로는 자국어의 음성적 실체에 근접하는 것이었기때문에 훨씬 근대화에 적응하기 쉬운 언어관을 전제로 하고 있었다. In this thesis, I tried to clarify the procedure of academic modernization of Korea through that of Japan. What is important as a mean of modernizatioh is the language by which the ability of writing of the intellects is realized. I investigated some aspects to explain the frame of Korea``s modernization through that of Japan as follows. First, the relative reflection on the procedure of Japanese academic modernization. That means the Japanese modernization as a specific one. This looking is needed because the schematic understanding on modernization can interrupt the significance of social circumstance such as history, natural features, environment, etc. Second, the specific flow of Korea receiving the Western academism and modern culture. The acceptance of culture includes the personal interchanges, reading books, political speeches, etc. And to grasp it clearly, the history of education and educational institution must be examined, Third, the experimental scrutiny on the change of the state of language and literature in the modern era. The lingual situation of Korea is said to resemble that of Japan in the point of co-existence of Chinese and National sentence structure. But that of Japan is more easy to apply to modernization because of visual resemblance with classical Chinese and auditory neighborhood with phonological substance of national language.
