상백피 품종에 따른 ${\gamma}$-Aminnobutyric acid 함량 비교

From mulberry root bark of 13 various varieties, ${\gamma}$-Aminnobutyric acid(GABA) contents were examined on HPLC analyzer. GABA contents in mulberry root bark were affected by genotypes. Average GABA content of the 13 mulberry varieties was 2.19 mg/gDW. GABA content of the varieties ranged from 1.70 to 2.62 mg/gDW. Among the three genotypes, GABA content of the Morus Lhou was higher than the other genotype. In GABA content Hongolppong was the highest with 2.62 mg/gDW on the 13 varieties of mulberry root bark.
Development of Copris tripartitus(Coleoptera:Scarabaeidae)in Two Diffenent Rearing Media

Like many other sub-social insects, Copris tripartitus Waterhouse requires parental care during the development period in the brood balls. Mass-rearing is achieved by using indoor rearing systems and adding more dung after taking away the brood balls containing eggs. Without parental care, larvae are often affected by desiccation, as well as by fungal or sciarid fly intrusion of the brood balls. This study developed a good substitute for brood ball rearing medium. A significantly greater number of progeny survived to adulthood from broods produced by beetles reared on vermiculite medium (90.69±10.98%) than on peat moss medium (44.82±13.92%). Results of the study suggest that to protect the brood balls from desiccation and to produce healthy adults, 15-20% moisture content vermiculite must be used as brood ball rearing medium for most species reared in the laboratory.

Effects of the ultrasonic treatment on plant represents antifeeding activity and chitin synthesis inhibition activity against diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella L.) by a leaf-dipping method at a concentration of 5,000ppm. Methanol extracts of leaves of the ultrasonic treatment on plant was sequentially partitioned with n-hexane, chloroform, ethlyacetate, butanol and water fractions, and bioassayed. Antifeeding activities were observed in n-hexane, chloroform and ethlyacetate fractions. N-hexane fraction has 94.6% of strongest antifeeding activity against P. xylostella. From the n-hexane sequentially partitioned showed H6 and H8 fractions of antifeeding activities against P. xylostella. And chitin synthesis inhibition activity against P. xylostella was obtained the methaol, n-hexane and water fractions.

환경정화곤충 선발을 위해 pitfall trap을 이용하여 5월에서 10월까지 제주도에서 서식하고 있는 5종의 소똥구리류와 소똥풍뎅이류의 조사를 행한 결과, 개체당 우분 처리능력이 우수한 애기뿔소똥구리(Copris tripartitus)와 뿔소똥구리 (Copris ochus)를 대상종으로 선택하였다. 실험실내 조건(23-$25^{\circ}C$, RH 60-70%)에서 산란된 brood ball을 어미로부터 제거하고 새로운 우분을 적기에 공급하는 방법을 적용한 결과 암컷 한 마리당 애기뿔소똥구리는 평균 13개, 뿔소똥구리는 9개의 알을 산란하였으며, 이는 자연상태에서 보다 3-4배 많은 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 인위적 산란유도에 의한 2-3회의 연속된 산란 후에도 암컷의 난소소관에는 성숙된 난모세포가 계속 증식되고 있음이 확인되었다. 상기 실험에서 생산된 애기뿔소똥구리의 brood ball무게는 평균 10.0$\pm$0.46g이었고, 뿔소똥구리의 brood ball무게는 약 40.30$\pm$5.32g로 나타났다. 실내에서 애기뿔소똥구리는 99년 5월 채집후 15일째부터 첫산란이 시작되어 70일 동안, 뿔소똥구리는 60일만에 첫 산란하여 150일 동안 산란하였다. For the selection of insect species with environmental importance, five species of dung beetles were collected by pitfall traps from May to October in Je-Ju Island. Among them, oviposition behaviour of two species, Copris tripartitus and C. ochus was examined by employing several rearing methods. As the broods were removed from the nest at specific times following the formation of the last brood ball, providing the beetle with an added dung on the soil surface, the female was capable of constructing another nest and laying further eggs in laboratory condition (23-$25^{\circ}C$, RH 60-70%). C. tripartitus and C. ochus females were induced to lay eggs continually. The ovary of a female consists of a vitellarium containing sequentially maturing follicles, a single oviduct with the spermatheca attached. Egg Productivity increased 3 to 4 times more than that of normally laid in the field. With this technique, C. tripartitus produced an average of 13 eggs/female and C. ochus 9 eggs/female. The average brood ball weight of C. tripartitus was 10.0$\pm$0.46 g and that of C. ochus 40.30$\pm$5.32 g. After collecting in May 1999, first oviposition of C. tripartitus takes 15days and oviposited for 70days. On the other hand, first oviposition of C. ochus takes 60days and oviposited for 150days in the indoor rearing condition (23-$25^{\circ}C$, RH 60-70%).
