      • Fabrication and Application of Lipid Coated Core/Shell Nanoparticles

        Bioengineering strategies to enhance the natural targeting function of nanocarriers would magnify their therapeutic application. Here, we designed and developed the bioengineered nanocarriers to increase their retention time and achieve robust targeting by coating the surface of nanoparticles with different types of lipids. The lipid coating did not only increase the retention time of drugs and growth factors, but it also enhanced their circulation time in the body. Several types of lipids including cell membranes were tested for various applications. The reported strategy opens the door for the creation of biocompatible and custom-tailored biomimetic nanoparticles with varying hybrid functionalities, which may be used to overcome the limitations of current nanoparticle-based therapeutic and imaging platforms.

        PNIPAM 형성이 금 나노 입자 담지 나노 젤의 제작에 미치는 영향

        금 나노 입자(AuNPs)는 바이오센서와 유전자 또는 단백질의 전달 등 많은 생물의학적 응용분야에 적용이 다양하게 연구되고 있으며 최근에 기능성 부여하고 안정성을 증가시키기 위해 고분자 복합체 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 이 연구에서, 우리는 다양한 공량체를 기반으로 하는 poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM) 기반의 나노 젤을 제작하고 AuNPs는 상이한 pH 값 조건 하에서 HAuCl4의 환원에 의해 나노 젤에 담지 하였으며 공단량체에 따른 PNIPAM의 형성이 AuNPs 담지 나노 젤의 제작에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. AuNPs 담지 나노 젤은 주사전자현미경(TEM)을 통해 그 형태를 관찰하였고, 동적광산란법(DLS), 자외-가시광분광법(UV-Vis)으로 크기 및 흡수강도를 측정하였다. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have been investigated for various biomedical applications such as biosensors and genes or proteins delivery. Recently, they were modified with peptides or incorporated with polymers to increase cell penetration, specificity to targets, and stability in aqueous medium. In this study, we prepared poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) based nanogels systems containing AuNPs and examined the effect of PNIPAM formulation on the formation of AuNPs encapsulated in nanogels by using different comonomers. AuNPs were embedded into nanogels through the reduction of HAuCl4 at different pHs after PNIPAM-based nanogels were formed by a conventional radical polymerization. The morphology characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirmed multiple non-aggregated AuNPs in PNIPAM based nanogels. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) showed the size of nanogels containing AuNPs changed with temperature and pH. UV-Vis measurements exhibited different intensity depending on PNIPAM formulations, since different amounts of gold nanoparticles were embedded in nanogels.

      • 철도 노반用 합성고무계 개질아스팔트의 기초적 연구

        본 연구에서는 개질아스팔트를 철도 노반用 재료로 적용하여 유지보수의 편의성 증진과 기능성(低진동/소음,장기공용성)탑재를 목표로 하였다. 이는, 기존 철도 노반궤도 (자갈, 슬래브)가 오래된 시공 역사를 기반으로 재료, 구조 및 공법적인 최적화 기술을 구현하였으나 재료와 공법에서 일부 한계점이 노출되고 있기 때문이다. 또한, 아스팔트에 新기능성을 접목한 본 연구의 Concept 및 기초적인 실험 결과는 관련 분야 기술의 先手/先占 측면에서도 중요한 의미가 있다고 판단된다. 따라서, 개질아스팔트의 공용성 등급 PG76-22를 기준으로 저온균열 및 고온 소성변형 저항성 개선을 위해 SBS계 합성고무를 첨가하여 기본물성과 공용성 실험을 수행하여 최적 배합을 도출하였다. 그 결과 도로用 개질제로써 성능이 매우 우수한 KTR101 대비 신도, DSR 및 BBR등의 실험에서 목표 수준 이상의 성능 개선 효과를 관찰할 수 있었다. 이에, 추후 장기공영성 개선을 목표로 아스팔트 혼합물 평가 및 시공 검증을 진행할 계획이다. This study performed the development of asphalt modifier for railroad bend, applied to various track(Ballasted/ Concrete/ direct fastened track) in semi-high speed region(200~300km/h).. Various laboratory tests including PG test are performed for several modified binders. PG 76-22 binder using SBS is selected based on the binder testing results. Test results indicate that the overall performance characteristic of selected modifier is better than general asphalt modifier. (thermal cracking and the resistance of high temperature). We are planning to research for yielding the optimal mix design and evaluate the performance of modified asphalt mixtures.

        Human body contains diverse microbes. Different microbes are identified at different organs. Urine was thought as sterile, but according to progression in important technologies like 16S rRNA gene sequencing and expanded quantitative urine culture, it is known that diverse microbes exist in genitourinary tract. Microbiome contains the microbes and surrounding microenvironments. In addition to urologic difficulties like interstitial cystitis or chronic prostatitis, malignancies are thought to be related to microbiomes. In this review, we summarized several studies in urologic malignancies, especially prostate cancer and kidney cancer.

        In a high speed spindle system, it is very important to monitor the state of rotating rotor. Particularly in active control spindle system, the position sensor must provide feedback to the control system on the exact position of the rotor. In order to monitor the state of a high speed spindle exactly, high accuracy and wide frequency bandwidth of sensors are important. The focus in this paper is to make a fiber optic sensor for monitoring rotor of magnetic bearing, to design the circuit for detecting optical signal, and to evaluation static and dynamic characteristics of fiber optic sensor.

        만곡 근관 형성시 화일의 응력 및 근관 전이 양상에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of materials and sizes of files on canal transportation in a curved canal. The stress and the strain energy of files of two kinds of materials (stainless steel and NiTi) and five sizes (No. 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40) in a curved canal were analyzed by a finite element program, NASTRAN, Curved canals in transparent resin blocks were instrumented with the 10 kinds of files, and the degree of canal transportation obtained by double exposure technique of photography was compared with the analysis by the finite element method. The results were as follows: 1. The stress of a file in a curved canal increased from the file body to the file tip. 2. The stress of a stainless steel file was about 2.5 times greater than that of a same-sized NiTi file. 3. The stress distributions of files of an identical material were the same, and the strain energies of files of an identical material increased as the size of files increased. 4. The strain energy of a No. 35 NiTi file was about the same as that of a No. 20 stainless steel file. 5. The degree of canal transportation by a stainless steel file was greater than that by a same-sized NiTi file. The degree of canal transportation generally increased as the size of a file increased. 6. The degree of canal transportation of a No. 35 NiTi file was about the same as that of a No. 20 stainless steel file.

      • 단양지역 음용수 중의 석회 성분 조사 연구

        Total hardness of tap water, ground water and river water at Tanyang area was measured by EDTA method every month. Tanyang area was divided into tree regions, Sintanyang, Gutanyang, and Maepo. Average total hardness of river water was the highest as Maepe(364.12ppm), and those of tap water adn ground water were relatively high at winter. Concentrations of Ca(at 393.37nm) and Mg(at 279.55nm) were determined in N₂O-C₂H₂flame by Atomic absorption spectroscopy. Ca concentration of river water was the hightest at Maepo(217.50ppm), and Mg concentration of ground water was the highest at Maepo(152.50ppm). From these results, it was found that the total hardness of water at Tanyangt area was higher than the average of the other places in Korea.
