The parking guidance system can increase driver’s convenience with detailed parking information service in the parking lot. At the same time, parking guidance system consumes non-negligible electrical energy with large amount of sensors, displays and control modules. With the increase in the demand for green and sustainable building design all over the world, it becomes a meaningful issue for parking guidance system to reduce operating power. This paper presents the preliminary design and estimated results of a parking guidance system which is optimized to reduce the power consumption mainly on detectors and displays. The system design is based on pre-developed wireless parking detectors, Park Tile and Park Disk. The system has a number of parking space detectors, vehicle count detectors, information displays, guidance terminals and other control units. We have performed system architecture design, communication network design, parking information service scenario planning, battery life regulation and at last operating power estimation. The estimated operating power was 0.4 watt per parking-slot, which is 17% of traditional systems. The estimated annual maintain cost was 43% of traditional systems.
H-beam 절단용 다관절 로봇의 절단작업영역 설정에 관한 연구

This study aims for determination of cutting work envelope of an articular robot for H-beam cutting. The robot has its own work envelope. The cutting of piece with groove requires the specific position of the torch which contracts the work envelope. This study suggested the new method to determine the cutting work envelope for this case. The method simplified the problem by use of the combination of inverse kinematics and forward kinematics. The method was used for cutting the H-beam with groove. The cutting work envelope was determined easily. The result was verified by 3D simulation system which implements the articular robot with 6 axes and the H-beam in the virtual shop.
조선 탑재용접용 대입열 수직자동용접법의 개발에 관한 연구

Welding work in pre-erection or erection stage of shipbuilding construction to be carried out in flat and vertical upward position mostly and Electrogas welding(EGW) is actively applied especially for vertical butt joint of thicker steel plate recently. In this study considered how to develope and improve mechanical properties of weld metal and HAZ in high heat input welding processes such as EGW and Electroslag welding(ESW) with its welding equipment in order to extend the application range to the longitudinal members and hatch coaming parts of container ship. Some components of welding system and parameters were modified to get the faster travel speed and reduce weld heat input, and also by adding additional filler rods or tubes increase the amount of deposited weld metal. With the test get some good date can apply to actual fabrication work and recommend items to manufacture welding materials make better. Above all things it's a fruition that to prepare the possibility of application of ESW to shipbuilding construction which fill up the gap of stoppage days of more than 20 years.

Metastatic tumours to oral soft tissue are uncommon and accounts for approximately 1% of malignant oral neoplasms. Because of its rarity and clinical appearance of benign nature, the diagnosis of a metastatic lesion in the oral soft tissue may be challenging, both to clinicians and pathologists. We analyzed the clinical data of 9 patients who had metastatic carcinoma to oral soft tissues. The metastatic site to oral soft tissue was the gingiva in all cases. The most common primary site was lung (6 cases) followed by liver (2 cases) and breast (1 case). The clinical appearance resembled gingiva hyperplasia, pyogenic granuloma or gingival swelling. In one case, the metastatic gingiva lesion was found before detection of primary cancer. The mean survival time after diagnosis of metastatic lesion was 3 months. Although this metastatic lesion is rare, oral and maxillofacial surgeon should recognized that benign inflammatory lesion may be the metastatic malignant lesion or the first sign of undiagnosed underlying malignancy.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome (TTS) is an entrapment neuropathy of the posterior tibial nerve or one of its branches within the tarsal tunnel, and is often caused by ganglia, lipoma, accessory muscles, varicosities, neural tumours, trauma and systemic diseases. We have successfully treated a patient with tarsal tunnel syndrome which was associated with os sustentaculi.

The purpose of this study is 3 dimensional modeling of lower part of drilling system in offshore rig and simulation of drilling process. Recently, shipbuilding companies have been focusing on offshore rigs due to their high added-value and the reduced demand of new shipbuilding. In most cases, however, the basic design, installation and management of offshore rig are carried out by foreign companies. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain the knowledge and information of drilling system. In this study drilling devices, BOP(Blowout Preventor) and cementing job and mud circulation related components are included as the main components of offshore rig. The structure and function of them were analyzed from a viewpoint of object-oriented technique. On the basis of this analysis they were modeled in the 3 dimensional structure with 3D software tool such as CATIA and 3DVIA Composer. The drilling process was simulated according to the scenario of drilling operation. This simulation system can be effectively used for an educational tool for students and engineers in ocean plant industries.
유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 조선 소조립 로봇용접공정의 최적화

This research was carried out to improve the productivity in the subassembly process of shipbuilding through optimal work planning for the shortest work time. The work time consist of welding time, moving time of gantry, teaching time of robot and robot motion time. The shortest work time is accomplished by even distribution of work and the shortest welding sequence. Even distribution of work was done by appling the simple algorithm. The shortest work sequence was determined by using GA. The optimal work planning decreased the total work time of the subassembly process by 4.1%. The result showed the effectiveness of the suggested simple algorithm for even distribution of work and GA for the shortest welding sequence.
H-beam 로봇 절단용 3차원 시뮬레이터의 개발과 이를 이용한 절단 최적화에 관한 연구

H-beam used for stiffening the upper structure of ocean plant is cut in the various shapes. The cutting process of the H-beam is done manually and requires a long time and high cost. Therefore, automation of H-beam cutting is an important task. This research aims to develop a 3-D simulator to build the automatic H-beam cutting system and to determine the optimal cutting method. The automatic H-beam cutting system composes of 6 robots including 2 cutting robots hang to a crane and 1 conveyer. The appropriate system layout for covering the various sizes and types of H-beam was tested and determined using the simulator. The H-beam cutting system uses a hybrid type of plasma and gas cutting because of special cutting shapes of H-beam. The cutting area of each cutting method should be properly divided according to the size and shape of H-beam to shorten the total cutting time. Additionally the collision between a robot and a robot or a robot and H-beam should be avoided. The optimal cutting method for the shortest cutting time without the collision could be found for the various cutting conditions by use of the simulator. 2 simulation samples shows the availability of the simulator to find the optimal cutting method.
