Care Status of the ALS Patients With Long-Term Use of Tracheostomy Tube

Objective To evaluate the care status of the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients with long-term use of tracheostomy tube by caregivers of ALS patients. Methods A survey was conducted in the form of questionnaires to ALS patients and their caregivers. All measurements were performed by two visiting nurses. For statistical analysis, SPSS ver. 22.0 and Mann-Whitney U test on non-normal distribution were used. Results In total, 19 patients (15 males and 4 females) and their caregivers participated in the survey. In the case of patients, the average duration of care was 5.9±3.7 years, and the mean periods of illness and tracheostomy were 5.3±3.2 years and 3.0±2.6 years, respectively. Replacement intervals were 14 days in 11 patients, 7 days in 4 patients, 28 days in 2 patients, and 21 days in 1 patient. One patient was unable to provide an accurate replacement interval. Eighteen (99%) caregivers had experience of adding volume to a cuff without pressure measure in the following instances: due to patients’ needs in 7 cases, air leakage in 7 cases, and no reason in 4 cases. Mean pressure of tracheostomy cuff was 40±9.4 cmH2O, and air volume of tracheostomy cuff was 6.7±3.2 mL, but real mean volume was 7.0±2.9 mL. The number of suctioning for airway clearance was a mean 27.5 ±18.2 times a day. Conclusion According to this survey, we notice that almost all the patients and caregivers had an erroneous idea about cuff volume and pressure. Moreover, education and long-term professional care of tracheostomy cannot be overemphasized in this manner.

환경은 현대 및 미래사회의 키워드이며 기업에게도 윤리적 의무이자 전략이다. 제품뿐만 아니라 패키지디자인에 도 지속가능성에 대한 연구가 주목받고 있다. 소비자의 환경에의 관심과 목소리가 높아짐에 따라 제도적 노력과 함께 기업의 지속가능한 패키지디자인 방안이 요구되고 있으며 제과류 패키지에서의 친환경 포장 활성화 필요성 또한 커지고 있다. 일부 제과 패키지 디자인은 차별화된 이미지로 높은 호응을 받지만 일회성 및 내용물에 비해 과도한 포장으로 지 적 받기도 한다. 본 논문은 제과류 패키지디자인의 지속가능성에 관한 연구로써 국내외 효율적 재사용 패키지 디 자인 현황 및, 제과 패키지 디자인 실태를 조사 분석, 재사용 가능 제과 패키지 디자인을 제안하는 것이다. 연구범위는 포털사이트(Naver, Daum, Google, Yahoo)를 통한 국내외 8개 재사용 사례, 제안디자인은 2013년 1 분기 각사 감사보고서 매출액 비교순의에 따른 국내 상위 3개 브랜드(롯데, 오리온, 해태) 중 소비자문제 연구소 컨슈머리서치가 2014년 1월 실시한 과자별 빈공간 비율 순위의 1위 제품인 오리온의 ‘마켓오 리얼 브라우니’로 선 정하였다. 연구 방법은 이론적 고찰, 실증 조사는 국내외 재사용 패키지 사례 분석 방식으로 5가지 디자인 속성(창의성, 심 미성, 활용가능성, 경제성, 사용 편의성)으로 평가, 이를 바탕으로 패키지디자인 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 사례 분석 결과, 경제성과 활용 가능성, 편의성은 비슷하지만 국내의 경우 심미성과 창의성 부분이 국외에 비해 낮았다. 또한 참신한 형태의 재사용 패키지 필요성이 나타났다. 재사용 패키지 제안물 연구결과, 리얼 브라우니 기존 그래픽디자인 장점은 유지하고 기본 구조에 양면(뒷면 1도) 인쇄로 잉크 사용 및 추가 공정 비용을 최소화하였다. 간결한 매뉴얼로 사용편의성을 높이고, 점선 타공으로 손쉽 게 분리하여 칠교놀이를 즐길 수 있도록 하였다. 이를 통해 전통놀이의 재현과 아이들의 창의적 도구로의 포장물 재사용 가능성 확대와 브랜드이미지 강화 요소 증대효과도 기대된다. Environment is a keyword of future society and modern and is a moral obligation as well as a strategy to company. Studies on sustainability have attracted attention not only products, but also in the package design. The need for eco package activation in packages of confectionery is growing by consumer’s voice and interest of environment grows. Efforts for Sustainable package design of confectionary has been also required. Orion ‘Market O“ have appeared on the market in quality and image that is differentiated. However, since the package is excessive compared to the contents and high prices, have received indications. In this paper, as a study on the sustainability of the package design of confectionery, proceeded the real brownie’s new package. The purpose of the study is propose a package design applied the possibility of reuse. Range of the study, were selected flagship product Real brownie of Orion is product of brand domestic top brand. Also eight of reusable package design case at home and abroad is selected through the four portal sitesThe research methods, theoretical considerations are by the literature and the preceding paper at home and abroad and in the empirical study, re-package case analysis is evaluated by the five design values (creativity, aesthetics, availability, economy, ease-of-use). Then, I have proposed a design by study of the production and the actual package. Result of the re-analysis package at home and abroad, economic efficiency, availability, ease of use, were generally similar. However, in Korea, creativity and aesthetics was lower than the other countries. It is necessary to study the re-usable package design in unique form and in a variety of fields and products. I introduced the applications suitable for advanced kids treats. It was to minimize the additional cost of ink to print at both sides and maintain the graphics of existing package. I made Tan gram can be enjoyed easily by punched dotted line. Also I increased the ease of use by concise illustration manual. I hope it make up reproduce the traditional play for creativity of kids and brand image upgrade.

1917년 문맹테스트 이민법을 통해 본 하와이 사진신부

Due to the hostility toward immigrants in the United States, the Immigration Act was enacted in 1917. This Immigration Act included three core clauses, and one of them was literacy test. This literacy test was performed to pick out the immigrants who could read a certain level of English. Through this filter called ‘literacy test’, many Asian people and southern Europeans from other than English-speaking countries, were limited to enter the United States. In case of Asian picture brides, they were exempted from this test even though they were Asian people. The picture brides mean the women who left for marriage immigration after receiving a picture from their native men residing in the United States. This study aims to understand the process of how those Asian picture brides such as Japanese and Korean picture brides could be exempted from literacy test through the articles and diplomatic documents of the time. 미국 내에서 일어나는 이민자에 대한 반감으로 인해 1917년 이민법이 제정되었다. 이 이민법에는 핵심적인 세 가지 조항이 있었는데 그 중 하나가 바로 '문맹테스트' 이다. 문맹테스트는 이민자들이 영어를 어느 정도 구사할 줄 아는 지를 가려내는 시험이었다. 영어권 국가가 아닌 아시아인들과 남부유럽인들은 문맹테스트라는 거름망을 통해 미국으로의 입국이 제한되게 되었다. 아시아 사진신부는 아시아인임에도 불구하고 이 시험에서 면제가 된다. 사진신부란 미국에 거주하는 고국출신의 남성들에게서 사진을 받아 결혼이주를 떠났던 여성들을 일컫는다. 아시아 사진신부 즉, 일본인과 한국인 사진신부는 어떻게 문맹테스트에서 벗어나게 되었는지 기사와 당시 외교문서를 통해 그 과정을 알아보고자 한다.

정신분열병 환자의 작동기억 이상에 대한 기능적 자기공명영상 연구

Objective:Impaired processing of working memory is one of the cognitive deficits seen in patients with schizophrenia. This aimed at corroborating the differences in the brain activities involved in the process of working memory between patients with schizophrenia and the control subjects. Method:Fourteen patients with schizophrenia and 12 healthy volunteers were recruited in this study. Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) was used to assess cortical activities during the performance of a 2-back visual working memory paradigm using the Korean alphabet as mnemonic content. Results:Group analysis revealed that left lateral prefrontal cortex and right parietal lobule showed decreased cortical activities in the patient group. On the other hand, an increased activation in left superior and middle frontal gyrus, left middle temporal gyrus, right cuneus, both occipital lobes, right fusiform gyrus and right cingulate gyrus. The activation in left anterior lobe and both declive of cerebellum was also increased. Conclusions:This study showed a decreased activation in left lateral prefrontal and right parietal neural networks from the patient group and confirmed the earlier findings on the impaired working memory of patients with schizophrenia using fMRI investigation. The regions implicated in our study suggest an abnormal functioning of the fronto-parietal cortical areas that are critical to the information processing stream, which might be correspondent to common pathophysiology rather than a common etiology in schizophrenia.

광양항 컨테이너터미널 통합 결정요인에 관한 연구

In the recent rapidly changing period, polarization for shipping and port companies, especially those operating port terminals, is maximizing. In particular, the Gwangyang Port container terminal operator is being considered for integration between terminal operators due to operational difficulties such as low productivity, low handling charge, and continuous deficit operation. In this study, analyzing determinants that should be considered when integrating Gwangyang operators in the future. In particular, it reflects changes in the environment of Gwangyang Port and existing studies. In addition, based on the determinants analyzed in this way, the Gwangyang Port integration scenario was derived and the importance of each scenario was analyzed. This study is meaningful in that it reflects the recently changed environment of Gwangyang Port and analyzes factors to be considered in future integration rather than the necessity and effect of integration.

중년 여성의 문제음주 성향과 관련된 사회심리학적 특성

Objectives: The study was conducted to identify the relationships between social support, depression, and problem drinking in some middle aged women. Methods: The subjects of this study were consisted of the 181 married middle aged women whose ages were between 40-59 years living in Anyang area, Self-administered survey was conducted and the questionnaire was comprised of general characteristics of the subjects, social support, depression(CES-D), problem drinking(AUDIT-K). The statistical analysis was done using PASW Statistics 20.0 programs. Results: There were significant negative correlations between social support and problem drinking and depression was positively correlated with problem drinking. The significant factors associated with problem drinking were education, income, and social support in multiple regression analysis. The three factors explanatory power was 19.8%. Conclusion: There were correlations between social support, depression, and problem drinking. Therefore it is necessary to primarily consider social support and depression to effective prevent drinking problems in middle aged women.
