University of Ulsan has prepared the Accreditation Program since 1999 and most of the engineering educational programs in College of Engineering have been accredited by ABEEK. This paper provides summarized description of the accreditation system development for engineering education in UOU and also discusses, what is to be considered in order to achieve the continuous improvement of education systems under the Accreditation Program.
CFT기둥과 H-형강보의 볼트 접합부에 관한 실험적 연구

본 연구의 목적은 CFT-기둥과H-형강보의 볼트를 이용한 접합부의 형식을 제안하는 데 있다. 본 연구에서는 직선형, 굽힘형, U자형, 기성제품 고장력 볼트를 이용한 아홉가지 형식의 접합부를 제안하였다. 이 아홉가지의 접합부 형식에 대하여 단순 인장 실험을 수행하였으며, 이 실험 결과에 의해 성능이 우수한 형태를 선정하여 단순 휨 실험을 수행하였다. 그리고 단순 휨 실험을 통해 보-기둥 접합부의 구조적인 거동을 비교 분석하였다. 단순 휨 실험의 분석 결과, 휨 접합부의 구조성능은 상당히 우수한 것으로 나타났으나 시공시 해결되어야 할 사항들이 남아 있는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to propose the prototypes of bolted end plate moment connection between CFT column and H-beam sections. Nine different types of bolt are designed in this study. The shapes of those bolt are straight. bent, hooked or stud-type. The end plate moment connection between CFT column and H-beam sections which are jointed by those bolts are studied experimentally to compare their performances. The simple beam bending tests are carried out to investigate the structural behavior of beam-to-column connections. The experimental results show that some of the bolted end plate connection types have quite good performance in the structural behavior but still have a lot of week points to be solved for the efficiency of construction.

Due to the recent economic downturn, many construction companies are facing difficulty on running their business. In order to overcome these difficulties, they are focused on developing their competitiveness. However, the importance of competitive advantage achievable through existing patents and technology, ensuring the protection and market regulation, and financing capacity and economies of scale have diminished recently. Traditional construction industry which resemble the characteristics of manufacturing and services industry had retained its competitiveness through rigidly mass supplying its deliverables up until modern days. However the current domestic construction market now undergoes transformation by attempting various changes through an introduction and phasing in of a customer focused services as a means of adapting into the ever changing market environment. The primary study has taken place for the strategic adoption of a successfully attempted internal marketing theory which states that “To satisfy the external customers, satisfaction of internal staff has to be met” This study has revealed that critical components within ‘internal marketing’ composition had strong influence over the specific construction firm. Hence this text proposes the ways in which ‘internal marketing’ approach can be used for the betterment of managing a construction organization.

This paper summarizes the results from the experimental study performed to investigate the structural behaviors of reinforced<br/> concrete beams strengthened by the composite fiber ropes tendons developed in this research. The rope braided with the<br/> UHMWPE fiber is excellent in the respect of strength but its failure mode is undesirably brittle. Steel turn-buckles developed in<br/> this research are connected at the middle of the fiber rope tendons and used as a device to control the magnitude of pretension<br/> forces and the failure mode of the tendons at the same time. The magnitude of pretension forces of the tendons and the strength<br/> capacity ratio between the ropes and the turn-buckles are considered as the major variables for the experimental analysis. Six<br/> beams were tested to investigate the structural performance of the proposed tendons used for rehabilitation works of reinforced<br/> concrete beams, such as failure modes, strength, stiffness and ductility. Results from this study show that the reinforced concrete<br/> beams rehabilitated by proposed method could have the maximum flexural moment capacity improved more than 140%, and the<br/> deformation ductility improved to be larger than 11.0. It implies that the proposed composite tendon possesses excellent<br/> performances in structural behavior, especially in the respects of flexural deformation and strength. And the proposed system could<br/> be used effectively for the rehabilitation works of reinforced concrete beams.
