        중도입국자녀의 언어능력에 대한 비판적 담론분석

        As one of the most important sites in which language policy is articulated and through which it is disseminated, printed media reportage plays important roles in agenda setting. Drawing on Fairclough s critical discourse analysis, this study examines the effects of intertextuality on the discursive construction of immigrated students and their language competency in selected Korean newspapers. It also aims to show how the newspapers employ specific discursive strategies to represent the immigrated students and their monolingual/bilingual competence from the neoliberal perspectives. Focusing on genre, style, and discourses, which are respectively associated with representational, identificational, and actional meaning of discourse, this study found that different discursive strategies were interwoven, and that they drew on deeply entrenched ideological beliefs about language and society, such as, language as language as problems, rights, capital, and resources It was concluded that the discourses in Korean media could be conceptualized in two intersecting continua informing social integration ideological debates.

        영어능력 인증에 대한 비판적 담론분석

        This study aims at applying critical discourse analysis methodology to investigating Korean newspaper media reportage of Korean universities’ graduation accreditation system for English proficiency certification. In this study, the discourse event was discussed from three dimensions of textual, discursive, and social practice. It was found that a top-down communicative practice was mobilized to legitimize the need for English proficiency certification for college students in Korea. The voices of university presidents were frequently quoted in the aspect of style. By presenting their voices as authoritative (a portrayal enhanced by combining deferential presentation with the interview genre, in which an authoritative voice states definitive answers to questions posed), discourse producers regarded English language as an object to be managed, a problem to be solved, and a target to be mastered. It legitimized the dominant paradigm of language determinism, or monolingualism in internal and interdiscursive relations of the text.

        본 연구는 건설 디지털 제조를 위한 3D 프린팅 기술 개발을 위하여, 플라이애시 및 고로슬래그 미분말 등의 알칼리 활성화 결합재를 Binder Jetting 3D 프린팅 방식으로 출력하고, 후처리 방법을 통해 출력물의 압축강도를 증진하는 것이다. 진공 펌프 및 규산나트륨-수산화나트륨 복합 수용액을 적용하여 후처리 방법을 검토하였으며, 후처리 용액에 침지한 후 -0.1 MPa 진공 압력으로 처리한 공시체의 압축강도는 11.04 MPa 로써 강도 증진을 확인하였다.

        담론으로 접근하는 언어정책탐구 연구방법

        This paper is intended to show that LPP (language planning and policy) is a multilayered phenomenon constituted and practiced in and through discourse. It gives a brief history of four different approaches to LPP research. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the exercise of language planning led to or was directed by the promulgation of a language policy by the government or other authoritative bodies. However, LPP is itself an instance of social change. It deems activities that move upwards as well as downwards. The field of LPP has been subject to a series of critical and discursive turns for the last decades. In the early 1990s, the CLP (critical language policy) emerged as a response to earlier language planning work. However, it has been criticized for being too deterministic and underestimating the power of human agency. Drawing on CDS (critical discourse studies), this study explicates how LPP has been interconnected with discourse beyond the text. Drawing from interdisciplinary literature related to LPP, it is argued that the contemporary DILP (discursive inquires to language policy) combines the macro and micro, offers a balance between policy power and interpretative agency from ethnographic research methods. Moreover, it can be committed to multicultural and multilingual issues in Korea, especially those that pertain the rights of indigenous and minority language speakers.

        논증 기반의 언어평가 타당화 연구의 이해 -고부담 의사결정의 맥락으로부터-

        The purpose of this paper is to discuss the applicability of the assessment use argument (AUA: Bachman & Palmer, 2010) to validation in the Test of Proficiency in Korean with foci of value implications and consequences. Ever since Messick (1989) articulated value implications and consequences in the conceptual model of test validity, the social dimensions of testing have been increasingly recognized (McNamara, 2012), and various approaches have been proposed to include the social dimensions into validation research. However, few empirical studies have investigated the social dimensions of testing nor do validation frameworks comprehensively provide procedures for evaluating value implications and consequences. Nevertheless, AUA addresses the limitations in the existing validation frameworks by specifying two claims of decisions for evaluating value and consequences. In this discussion paper, a description of the AUA and a review of empirical validation studies which used the AUA are provided, followed by discussions of the usefulness and applicability of the AUA to the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) for evaluating issues of values and consequences. This paper also suggests that analyzing policy documents and media reportage as well as listening to multiple stakeholders’ voices be considered for further research in test validation.         한국어 교재 대화문의 구어문법 분석

        목적 본 연구에서는 구어문법/교육에 관한 연구가 최근에 더욱 주목받고 있음에 따라 한국어 교재의 대화문에서 나타난 구어문법의 사용 양상을 분석하고, 담화의 구어성에 초점을 맞춘 교육방향을 제시하고자 한다. 방법 Thornbury와 Slade(2006)가 제시한 구어 어휘/문법 범주를 기반으로 구성하였다. 구어어휘 특성에 해당하는 세부 항목은 ‘반복’, ‘허사’, ‘담화표지’, ‘평가표지와 참여표지’로 나누었고, 대화문법 특성의 세부항목은 ‘머리말’, ‘꼬리말’, ‘생략’, ‘대용어’, ‘의문문’, ‘시제와 상’, ‘화법’으로 분류하였다. 결과 교재 대화문은 다양한 구어 담화 전략을 반영하기 보다는 일부 몇 가지 전략에 집중된 것으로 나타났다. 담화표지는 가장 높은 사용 빈도가 나타냈지만, 반복이나 생략은 해당 교재의 대화문에서 전혀 발견되지 않았다. 머리말과 꼬리말은 전형적인 구어문법 특성이지만 해당 교재에 머리말(26회)에 비해 꼬리말(3회) 사용에 인색했다. 모든 문장은 의문문과 현재 시제로 구성되어 있었다. 결론 본 연구에서는 영어 구어문법을 선행연구로 삼았기 때문에 한국어 교재의 대화문 분석에 동일한 추론이 가능할지 추가 논의가 필요하겠지만 구어적 요소는 개별 언어에 상관없이 보편적인 현상으로 이해된다. 한국어 학습자가 구어적 의사소통을 제대로 습득하기 위해서는 한국어 교재에 보다 실제적인 구어적 요소가 반영될 필요가 있다. Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore the use of Korean spoken grammar in Korean textbooks as research is drawing more attention recently on spoken grammar and teaching. Methods Thornbury and Slade(2006)’s framework of spoken grammar was applied from twelve criteria for analyzing features of spoken grammar. The detailed items that correspond to the characteristics of spoken vocabulary are as follows: reapeating, filler, discourse markers, appraisal, as the characteristics of conversation grammar are head/tail, ellipsis, an interrogative sentence, aspect. Results It was found that features of spoken discourse analyzed were dependent on a limited strategies. The highest frequency was found in the categories of ‘discourse markers’ and ‘pro-forms’ as repetition and ellipsis were not found. Head was found 25 times, but tail was used 3 times. All sentence had an interrogative form in present tense. Conclusions Further research is needed to understand whether the items of English spoken grammar can be well applied in the analysis of Korean conversation and textbook. It was concluded that Korean textbooks which aim to foster Korean conversational skills and natural spoken interaction should be based on the authentic features of spoken vocabulary and grammar.

        기업교육과정에서 스토리텔링 진단평가도구의 활용에 관한 탐색 연구

        본 연구의 목적은 국내외 다양한 분야의 학술문헌으로부터 수집된 스토리텔링 진단평가도구들의 차별적인 특성을 기업교육의 맥락과 실제적 채점 활동으로부터 이해하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구팀은 특수교육, 유초등교육, 언어치료, 영어교육 등 다 양한 학술 분야로부터 관련 선행문헌을 검토했고, 삼성전자 직원 대상의 2017년 봄학기 스토리텔링 교육과정에 참여한 3명의 학습자들이 사전-중간-사후 평가도구 문항에 응답한 자료를 각기 다른 진단평가 모형에 적용해보았다. 스토리텔링 진단평가 의 대표적인 모형 8개(Bliss, McCabe, & Miranda, 1998, Gilllam & Person, 2008; Hedberg & Stoel-Gammon, 1986; Heilmann, Miller, & Nockerts, 2010; Justice etal., 2010; Labov & Waletzky, 1967; Stein & Glenn, 1979)로부터 연구팀은 학습자들의 구술 자료를 채점하고 개별적으로 작성한 채점자 일지를 공유하면서 각 평가도구의 특성을 탐색했다. 채점자들의 관점과 채점 결과는 2018년 1-2월 총 5회에 걸친 전체 회의로부터 공개적으로 논의되고 조정되었다. 본 연구는 채점자들이 공유한 진단평가 과업의 적절성, 평가등급과 채점절차의 명시성, 평가영역의 채점 수행성에 관한 논점을 요약했고 추후 기업교육, 스토리텔링 교육, 구술 진단평가에서 고려되어야 할 사안을 제시해 두었다. The purpose of this study is to examine diagnostic assessment of storytelling proficiency in business education. Over the decades, oral narrative skills have been deemed as a key component of language learning process, and the related diagnostic information has been significant interest to researchers and practitioners in speech pathology, children language learning, or first/second language acquisition. Few studies, however, have been devoted to storytelling assessment in EFL (English as Foreign Language) business education. In this study, eight diagnostic assessment models of storytelling were collected, revised, and evaluated by five experienced researchers and teachers in a business education program, where students enrolled on the course titled ‘English Storytelling Practice’ within Samsung Electronics. Oral narrative samples were analyzed by micro, macro, mixed narrative scoring schemes. It was found that as micro narrative scoring scheme had low practicality to raters, especially for time-consuming and ambiguous rubric, so did mixed narrative scoring scheme. Macro scoring scheme had relatively high practicality to raters, but it provided insufficient diagnostic information to upper intermediate level storytellers. Theses finding have implication for future development of diagnostic assessment instruments in localized and business contexts.
