Research in educational administration and leadership has exclusively focused on procedural knowledge and managerial skills dealing with factual matters and order-producing agenda in administrative contexts and organization. Under the guidance of the tenets of the "theory movement", largely shaped by logical positivism, empirical research in the field for years has been encouraged and adopted as value-free methods to control people in organizations.
As main ideas of logical positivism were refuted successfully in the field of philosophy of science, the theoretical dominance of traditional scientific views of educational administration was challenged by some alternative view, especially subjectivism and critical theory. Given that education is itself a value enterprise, contemporary literature increasingly has addressed the necessity for educators to regard their professional responsibilities as basic moral and ethical imperatives.
Based on the recent literature emphasizing the moral nature of schooling, the study examined the ethical nature of educational administration and administrator training programs. In order to make the field more sensible to value issues encountered in educational contexts, the study also analysed major value theories emerged in the field, such as Hodgkinson's value theory, critical value theory and caring ethics, as value frameworks avaliable to educational administrators. Finally, the study suggested some possible ideas, including the use of case studies and a case of action research programs, needed to be taken into administrator training and preparation programs to improve the ethical awareness and morality of administrator in education.

Theories grow and evolve as they are applied and verified in real situations. In return, practices are improved further as the problems at hand are diagnosed and resolved through theoretical mechanisms. On the other hand, the development of theories in various studies is systematically carried out through academic discourse exchanges based on scientific and philosophy debates and individual scholars' truth-seeking activities within the academic community, reflecting the spirit of the times and field demands. Educational administration is no exception. The paper focuses on systematically exploring debating issues on the philosophy of science concerning the development of theory in the field of educational administration. In order to achieve this goal, the definition of theory and the open view of theory are first outlined and major issues related to the interrelationships of the foundations of the philosophy of science in the process of theory construction (false thinking about the philosophy of science, key features and main differences between scientific realism and critical realism) are comprehensively examined.

Adrenal hypoplasia congenita (AHC) is a rare inherited disorder of the adrenal gland caused by deletion or mutation of the dosage-sensitive sex-reversal AHC critical region on the X chromosome, gene 1 (DAX1) gene. The DAX1 gene is expressed in the adrenal cortex, the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus, the testis, and the ovary. Most affected infants present with failure to thrive, salt wasting, and hypoglycemic seizure in early life. Immediate mineralocorticoid and glucocorticoid replacement is essen- tial. Most boys with AHC present with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, resulting in failure to enter puberty and the need for testosterone treatment. However, a recent study revealed that the onset of puberty in boys with AHC can be variable, ranging from arrested or absent to precocious. We describe a case involving a newborn who presented with primary adrenal insufficiency due to a mutation of the DAX1 gene and was finally diagnosed with AHC.
