The magnetoresistance (MR) of spin-valve type is analysized on the basis of equivalent circuit, in which two ferromagnetic layers representing the anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) effect are parallelly connected and the giant magnetoresistance (GMR) effect have a serial connection configuration. The measured MR profiles at angles of Φ= 0˚, 60˚ and 90˚ in glass/NiO(30 nm)/NiFe(5 nm)/Cu(4 nm)/NiFe(5 nm)/Ta(5 nm) spin-valve samples are in good agreement with calculated ones using double domain model. The AMR and GMR components in spin-valve structure are decomposed using double domain model. As the magnetizing angle Φ increases, AMR effect becomes significant.
Characteristics of Anisotropic Magnetoresistance with Temperature Variation in NiO/NiFe bilayer

NiO(30 nm)/NiFe(t) (t= 5, 10 and 30 nm) Temperature dependence of anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) curves were measured as function of the angle between the applied field H_(ex) and the exchange coupling field Hex in NiO(30 nm)/NiFe(t) (t= 5, 10 and 30 nm) bilayer, and the data were compared with the calculated results using the single-domain model with the fitting parameter of crystalline anisotropy field. The AMR curves for H ≤H_(ex) are asymmetrical respect to θ = 0^(˚) in t = 10 nm sample, and the angles for maximum resistance, θ_(m), are located at negative field region for measuring temperature T= 300 K. As temperature decreases, the AMR curve becomes nearly symmetric at T =100 K, and then again asymmetric with positive θ_(m). The comparison of these results with the calculated AMR has suggested that the crystalline anisotropy field increases with the decreasing temperature, but its angle decreases.
