This paper compares seat vibrations of four type passenger car. The results also include the comparison of the human body accelerations and the ride values, such as the component ride values, and SEAT values of 12 axis accelerations obtained at the human body and seat track. The ride comfort evaluation is usually carried out by experiments of real cars which are expensive and sometimes may contain errors by passenger's postures. Simulations by computer, on the other hand, enable to solve these problems when the accuracy is proven. In this paper, also shows the correlation of human body vibration between experiments and computer simulations. For the computer simulator, Korean dummy models are developed from the Hybrid Ⅲ models by scaling the body data of Hybrid Ⅲ to those of Korean men and women.
A study on the design of a child seat system with mutipoint restraints to enhance safety
박동운,유완석 대한기계학회 2009 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.23 No.12
Currently, child seats are widely used as a child restraint system (CRS). The effects of CRS are experimentally investigated according to FMVSS213. In this paper, the dynamic simulation of a child seat is carried out using the LSDYNA software to develop an advanced CRS. A sled test using an existing child seat is first carried out, and the computer simulations using the LS-DYNA software are compared to the sled test to validate the dummy model and computer simulation. After matching the sled test and computer simulation results of a three-point belt-type child seat, a new type of child seat is developed with the computer simulation and optimization. For weight reduction, an optimization sequence is applied to determine the thickness of each part. For the area of stress concentration, reinforced members are added. The comparison between the simulation and the sled test shows good agreement, and the simulation results are proven useful for the further development of an advanced CRS.
