Ba9Ge3N10: A New Ternary Nitride Containing Isolated Planar Triangular Anions of [GeN3]5−

A new nitride, Ba9Ge3N10, was obtained as single crystals from constituent elements in molten Na. It crystallizes in space group R-3c (No. 167) with a = 7.9399(2) Å, c = 17.282(1) Å, and Z = 2. It contains the first example of isolated nitridometallate anions of GeN3 5− in perfect planar triangular shape. Ge-N bond length is 1.786(8) Å, which is significantly shorter than any known Ge-N bonds, ranging from 1.84 Å to 1.95 Å. Valence bond model suggests partial multiple bonding character of the Ge-N bond, which is the first example of such bonding configuration for Ge-N bond. N-centered polyhedral perspective suggests the structure of Ba9Ge3N10 can be conceived as the cationic framework of [Ba9Ge3N9]3+, whose 1/3 of the octahedral interstitial sites are occupied by N3− anions.
Organic-Inorganic nani-Composite of PMMA-Forsterite Doped with $Eu^{+3}$

Drying-step in sol-gel processing was bypassed by exchanging alcoholic solvent in forsterite alcogel directly with MMA. By in-situ polymerization of the MMA, organic-inorganic nano-composite of PMMA-forsterite was prepared. As porous nature of inorganic networks in the gel was preserved and fixated in the composite, spherical morphology of PMMA was resulted. The PMMA-forsterite composite was optically transparent, machinable,mechanically sustainable, and thermally more stable than pristine PMMA. When doped with $Eu^{+3}$, inorganic moiety in the composite provided site environment that is very different from that in pristine PMMA. Prominent $^{5}D_0$ → $^{7}F_0$ transition at 578 nm, broken degeneracy in $^{5}D_0$ → $^{7}F_1$ and $^{5}D_0$ →$^{7}F_2$ transitions suggested that $Eu^{+3}$ was exclusively doped in the inorganic moiety of the composite, which had lower symmetry than the organic counterpart.
FIXED POINT AND PERIODIC POINT THEOREMS ON METRIC SPACES

The aim of this paper is to establish a new fixed pointtheorem for a set-valued mapping de¯ned on a metric space satisfy-ing a weak contractive type condition and to establish a new com-mon fixed point theorem for a pair of set-valued mappings de¯nedon a metric space satisfying a weak contractive type inequality. Andwe give periodic point theorems for single-valued mappings de¯nedon a metric space satisfying weak contractive type conditions.
Mn/Cu-Impregnated Aluminosilicate 합성과 그 표면에서의 CH₃SH의 흡착파괴

수용액상 졸-겔 공정을 통하여 높은 표면적과 다양한 크기의 기공을 가지는 알루미노실리케이트 담체를 합성하고 그 표면에 망간과 구리를 침지시켜서 냄새를 내는 화합물에 대한 흡착파괴제 분말을 합성하고, 이로부터 압출성형법에 의하여 honeycomb형상의 탈취장치의 prototype를 제작하였다. 합성한 흡착파괴제는 CH₃SH에 대하여 높은 파괴율을 나타내어 200㎎의 고체시료가 200ppm의 기체를 20분만에 파괴 제거하는 것이 관찰되었다. 그러나, 이러한 흡착파괴 반응의 부산물로서 또 다른 종류의 냄새물질인 (CH₃)₂S₂를 생성하는 것이 관찰되었다. Aluminosilicate support with high BET surface area and a broad pore size distribution was synthesized via aqueous sol-gel route. By impregnating Mn and Cu components on the surface of the prepared support, a destructive adsorbent for odorous molecules was synthesized, and a prototype of deodorizing device unit was formed into a honeycomb by extruding technique. The synthesized destructive adsorbent (200㎎) could destroy 200㎖, 200ppm CH₃SH within 20min. Though the deodorizing efficiency against CH₃SH was fairly high, it was observed that (CH₃)₂S₂ was produced as a byproduct.
