국내 B - ISDN 에서 신호 능력 향상을 위한 정보 모엘링과 Lookahead 기능 구조에 관한 연구

This paper presents the requirement for signalling capability enhancement and the scenario of information modeling in B-ISDN, which is under development in Korea. These requirements can be used to both peer-to-peer and layer-to-layer signalling protocol. The B-ISDN connection-oriented bearer service with enhanced signalling capability can transport unlimited user's information through Virtual Path/Virtual Channel or Common Route Connection Group connection between one or more Sb/Tb reference point. To enhance currently developed B-ISDN signalling capability, this paper also proposes the method of call related information flow using information modeling technique. The context of this paper can be applied to the phased ongoing specification and development of the B-ISDN systems in Korea. Furthermore, it is possible to process Broadband tele-service through the signalling and call processing procedure in the later NNI, and to provide for the best convenience of terminal user.

In this paper, we propose applicable methodology using simple scenarios for the architecture and its procedure of signalling at the NNI for B-ISDN in Korea. By the recent technologies, the flexible and integrated networks of the future are designed, and the infrastructure hardware and software of those networks are designed based on the modular concepts. Also, the ATM-based B-ISDN must be able to support the broadband transmission function for providing various services with diverse bandwidths such as multimedia service and the function for controlling services and bandwidth is necessary. Currently, the requirements at the NNI for B-ISDN in Korea are based on the network node connection type which is connection setup structure. They must show the upper/lower layer conformance to have the flexibility in new services and guarantee the interoperability between the network functions. But, network functions and protocol specifications described in this paper are limited to the first stage target system in Korea. Therefore, we present the modular architecture which is corresponding to the B-ISUP of HAN/B-ISDN with those characteristics. Currently applicable architecture and procedure for B-ISUP and the functions of expandable modular architecture are also proposed.

This paper propose a novel scheme, called Mobiel Terminal Initiated Scheme(MTIS), in which mobile terminal initiates the backward handover by sending handover request message with the list of target radio ports. In this scheme, the old ATM switch suporting end-user mobility, denoted by EMAS\ulcorner, checks whether each EMAS\ulcorner, managing the target radio port, has its available resources. If it has, the EMAS\ulcorner performs the path rerouting between CrossOver Switch (COS) and itself after deciding the most suitable target radio port. Therefore, the MT initiates the handover after deciding the most suitable target radio port through the beacon signal of Wireless Access Point (WAP). The EMAS\ulcorner have only to check the resource availability of the target radio port. It is no need to waste time to decide the suitable target radio port. Also, once receiving the request of the resource availability, the EMAS\ulcorner can reduce the rerouting delay time due to perform the path rerouting to the COS. In comparison with that of the ATM-Forum procedure, our proposed MTIS handover delay time reduced 14~21%, and end-to-end transfer delay time reduced 2~9%, as a result of the simulation.
SMX - 1 운용관리시스템의 Copyback 기능 구현

신호중계교환기 SMX-1 운용관리시스템 이중화는 시스템 장애의 최소화, 데이타베이스의 내용과 현재 가용 중인 데이타와의 일치성 문제, 타겟시스템과 운용관리시스템과의 불일치 예방 차원에서 필수적이라 하겠다. 그러나 위의 제약 조건을 만족하는 이중화 모델은 적정한 비용과 서로 상관 관계에 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서 SMX-1 시스템은 위 사항을 고려하여 테이블 Copy기능(Copyback 기능)을 타겟시스템과 운용관리시스템에 구현하였으며, 시스템의 신뢰도 및 데이타 일치성을 최대한으로 보장하였다.
유무선 복합망에서 이동 단말 기반 핸드오버의 링크 품질에 관한 성능 분석

This paper proposes the Handover Scheme for the mobile terminal and describes the result of the performance analysis. In the conventional scheme of handover request, the withdrawal of terminal may occur because handover request is performed based on fixed signal level without considering network load and terminal mobility. The proposed scheme offers the minimization of withdrawal and handover blocking probability by means of the handover request of terminal based on the network load and terminal mobility. Conventional handover scheme has the sequential procedure that network performs resource check and path rerouting on the handover by MT(Mobile Terminal). Proposed handover scheme pre-processes the resource check before the handover request by predicting the handover request time so that handover latency can be reduced. Moreover, path optimization is executed after the completion of handover in order to reduce handover latency. The reduction of handover latency prevents the dropping of service by minimizing backward handover blocking. In summary, we propose the prediction of handover request time and decision method based on terminal mobility, validating the performance of proposed scheme considering various cases of simulation.
