Panel methods are useful tools for analyzing fluid-flow around a wing section. It has the advantage of fast and accurate calculation, compared to other CFD Methods such as RANS solvers. This paper suggests a piecewise linear panel method in order to improve accuracy of existing panel methods by changing the piecewise constant singularity strength to linear singularity strength(for dipole strength). The piecewise linear panel method adopts the linear distribution of singularity strength, while control point is located at the node of each panel. Formulation of the piecewise linear panel method is given, and some calculation results are shown for typical wing sections.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of active core training using all kinds of tools for 12 weeks on the Senior Fitness Test (SFT) result and foot pressure of patients who receive surgical treatment and drug therapy after a stroke. The subjects of this study were 20 patients at a rehabilitation welfare center for the elderly and they were divided into a training group (11 patients) and a control group (9 patients). The exercise method was proprioceptive exercise aimed at stimulating and training somatic senses and the subjects conducted exercise using a sling on an aero-step. The measurement items included body composition test, SFT, and foot pressure and training effect was examined. The 12-week exercise led to the following result. According to the SFT analysis result, stroke patients" active core training using a togu resulted in significant differences between the training group and the control groupin sitting and standing, raising a dumbbell, walking for six minutes, holding hands behind the back, and 2.44M walking round. There was no significant difference between the training group and the control group in foot pressure analysis. To sum up this study result, trunk stabilization exercise, in other words, active core training using a togu resulted in significant improvement in functional physical strength of stroke patients and therefore it can be said that trunk stabilization exercise has an intervention effect. Although there was no significant difference in foot pressure analysis, foot pressure distribution at the neutral position was seen, which suggests that there was influence on balance. Therefore, the researcher hopes that continuous development and study of rehabilitation programs will be made through more clinical applications.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of upper and lower body muscular exercise on pelvic deviation for aged women above 65 years of age who have been diagnosed with pelvic imbalance and degenerative disorder in Orthopedic Surgery due to chronic back pain. The subjects of this study were 25 aged women above 65 years of age; 13 of them were placed in the upper and lower muscular exercise group and 12 were placed in the control group. The effect on pelvic deviation was measured, compared, and analyzed after 12 weeks of exercise. The following are the findings: 1. The length of trunk and the change in the length left and right pelvis improved significantly in the upper and lower muscular exercise group(p<.05). There also was a significant difference according to time and inter-group interaction(p<.05). 2. There was no difference in the pelvic rotation of the two groups(p>.05), but pelvic slope was significantly decreased in the upper and lower muscular exercise group(p<.05). Based on these findings, it was concluded that upper and lower muscular exercise has positive impact on the length of trunk, the change in the length left and right pelvis, and the pelvic slope. Therefore, upper and lower muscular exercise could be applied to exercise programs for aged women with pelvic deformation to maintain good posture and balance.
This study examined aged women in Germany who have had femur surgeries to discuss how eight weeks of riding a bicycle influence their balance to provide important basic resources for the development of an appropriate bicycle exercise program after femur surgery. 1. In "standing on one foot with eyes opened" category, significant improvement in time was observed only with the bicycle exercise group on the left foot and significant difference between groups was observed after eight weeks. For the right foot, significant improvement in time was observed with both groups, along with significant difference between groups. 2. In "standing on both feet with eyes closed" category, significant improvement in time was observed only with the bicycle exercise group. Also, significant difference between groups was observed after eight weeks. 3. In "sitting and standing five times" category, significant improvement in time was observed only with the bicycle exercise group and significant difference between groups was observed after eight weeks. 4. In "standing after 30 seconds of sitting" category, significant improvement in time was observed only with the bicycle exercise group. Strangely, significant difference between groups was witnessed before the exercise. 5. In "6-minute walking" category, significant improvement in time was observed only with the bicycle exercise group and significant difference between groups was observed after eight weeks."
Among many patient's who have unsound stepping that have a method of body balance and stable walking to Hemiplegia patient's, and Nordic walking have been using much to ordinary people in Europe. The purpose of this study is that training through treadmill walking affects to Hemiplegia patient's safe walking, exercise program like treadmill training was reported many times but in our country's case, the study of rehabilitation exercise through nordic walking exercise program seldom uses. In this study, heart rate, blood pressure, BMI and walking time of paralysis patient had caused by cerebral paralysis First, After 12 weeks nordic walking, the all of 4 Hemiplegia patients' heart rate is lower in rest situation. Second, After 12 weeks nordic walking, the all of 4 Hemiplegia patients' Systolic blood pressure is lower and Diastolic blood pressure is normal. Third, After 12 weeks nordic walking, the all of 4 Hemiplegia patients' 30M walking tends to faster. Fourth, After 12 weeks nordic walking, the all of 4 Hemiplegia patients' BMI is much lower. As exercise way, nordic walking training will be studied for Hemiplegia patient and regular people in our country, and it is important to patient's functional and independently rehabilitation in the clinic.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Qigong therapy and manual manipulation therapy, which are not surgical procedures, performed on scoliosis patients in Y girls’ high school for 8 weeks. Qigong therapy was performed on 8 scoliosis patients and manual manipulation therapy on the remaining 8 patients. The patients were treated with Qigong therapy and manual manipulation therapy for 8 weeks and the effects on lumbar back strength, and body balance have been evaluated. The results of the analysis have shown the following: The effect of Qigong gymnastic exercises and manual manipulation therapy on lumbar back strength: As for lumbar back strength, there has been a meaningful increase in the period at every angle in both Qigong therapy and manual manipulation therapy (P<.05). And a meaningful difference appeared at 0° and 12°among groups (P<.05). The effect was more significant in the Qigong group than in the manual manipulation group. The effects of Qigong gymnastic exercises and manual manipulation therapy on the balance of body: When it comes to the static balance of the body, a meaningful difference in the disturbed area has been observed with B1 (standing on both feet with eyes closed) and E1 (standing on the left foot with eyes closed) among groups and in the interaction of the period with the group (P<.05).
