The morphologies of inkjet-printed narrow silver lines on fluorocarbon film-coated glass substrates were measured with varying contactangles and drop spacing to study the actual stability of line printing by using a practical inkjet system. From a practical stability pointof view, three types of the lines were observed: stable, unstable, and meta-stable. The stable lines were free from any bulging or breaking;the unstable lines had repetitive and periodic instabilities; and the meta-stable lines had no repetitive instability but had irregular bulgesthat appear sparsely. Unstable line printing resulted from either the dynamic or static instability of bead flow, which arose when the pressure-driven bead flow was too large or too small compared with droplet deposition rate, respectively. Whether the printing would bestable or meta-stable was determined by the anti-bulging stability of the flow against other disturbances. The anti-bulging stability increasedwhen the bead flow rate was balanced with the printing rate, whereas it decreased for the present system when the flow-balancebecame sensitive to drop spacing.

Gamma band neural oscillations in the human electroencephalogram (EEG) play an important role in perceptual and cognitive processes. Auditory steady state responses (ASSR) can probe neural oscillations with respect to phase synchronization and response magnitude. EEG recordings in bipolar disorder and schizophrenia patients showed reduced evoked power and phase locking for 40Hz ASSR. Also, several studies have reported increased evoked power and decreased synchronization of the gamma band in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. ASSR deficits in various psychiatric disorders may index disturbances of gamma-aminobutyric acid neurotransmission within auditory pathways and cortex. Although, several studies have reported ASSR deficits in various psychopathologies of psychiatric illness, further studies are necessary that investigate biological mechanism based on the ASSRs. In this review, the current concept and biological mechanism of ASSRs are discussed. 감마밴드의 신경진동은 인간의 지각 및 인지기능에 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 신경진동은 40 Hz ASSR에 의해 측정되는데 정신분열병 및 양극성 장애에서는 유발된 진동 파워 및 위상동기화(phase synchronization)의 감소가 나타나며 이러한 ASSR결손은 피질성 회로 내의 GABA 억제조절 기능의 변화로 인한 것으로 보인다. 또한 알츠하이머 병에서는 유발된 진동의 파워 및 위상동기화의 증가가 나타나는데 이는 피질억제능력의 결함과 관련이 있는 것으로 이해할 수 있다. 감마밴드의 ASSR결손은 다양한 장애에서 발견되고 있지만 정신분열병을 제외하고는 관련연구가 부족한 실정이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 감마밴드에서 나타나는 ASSR은 아직까지 명확한 병인이 밝혀지지 않은 정신장애들의 중요한 생물학적 진단도구가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대되고 있다.

Electrical sintering of silver nanoparticles was performed using operational amplifier (OP amp) to apply a constant DC current. Conducting lines were printed on glass substrate by a drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printer and silver nanoparticle ink. Specific resistance and microstructure of sintered silver lines and were measured with varying DC current. Sintering process finished within a few milliseconds. Increasing applied DC current, specific resistance decreased and gain size increased. Achievable minimum specific resistance is approximately two times higher than specific resistance of bulk silver.
