초·중등 교직 이탈에 관한 국내 연구동향 분석: 2018년-2024년 연구를 중심으로

본 연구는 2018년부터 2024년까지 국내 초·중등 교사의 교직 이탈 및 이직 의도 관련 연구를 체계적으로 분석하여, 연구 현황과 향후 연구 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 자료수집을 위해 한국교육학술정보원(KERIS)이 제공하는 RISS 사이트를 활용하였으며, 자료수집 결과 학위 논문 11편, 학술지 논문 16편의 총 27편의 연구물이 선정되었다. 연구 주제는 총 세 가지로 분류되었으며, ‘교직 이탈 의도’에 관한 연구가 가장 많았고(50%), 그 다음으로 ‘교직 이탈 관련 연구’(33%), ‘교사의 이직 경험에 관한 연구’(17%) 순으로 나타났다. 조사 기간 중 2023년도 이후 교직 이탈에 관한 연구가 62.5%를 차지할 정도로 많았기 때문에 이러한 현상이 나타난 원인을 살펴볼 필요가 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위해 교직 이탈의 복합적 요인을 분석하고 정책적 대안을 마련해야 한다. 또한, 경력 단계별 맞춤형 지원을 통해 교직 이탈을 예방하고, 교직 환경 개선과 교사에 대한 사회적 인식 개선의 필요성을 제언하였다. This study systematically analyzes the trends in research on teacher attrition conducted in South Korea between 2018 and 2024. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on teacher attrition, along with implications for future studies by examining not only teacher attrition but also teachers’ intentions to change professions. Data was collected using the RISS database provided by the Korea Education Research Information Service (KERIS), resulting in the selection of 27 research papers, which included 11 dissertations and 16 journal articles. The selected studies were categorized into three primary topics: 'Research on the intention to leave the teaching profession' (50%), 'Research on teacher attrition' (33%), and 'Research on teacher turnover experiences' (17%). Notably, research on teacher attrition has surged since 2023, constituting 62.5% of the total studies, suggests the need to explore the underlying causes of this phenomenon. As a countermeasure, it is recommended that researchers conduct a multifaceted analysis of the factors contributing to teacher attrition, develop targeted policy measures, provide career-stage-specific support to prevent attrition, and focus on improving both the teaching environment and societal perceptions of the teaching profession.
