In this paper an optical encryption system, which can decrypt the original image by using the autocorrelation terms of a JTC, is proposed. Unlike the conventional JTC, the joint input plane of the proposed system is composed in a frequency-domain not a spatial-domain, thus it is sufficient only one Fourier transformation operation. An original image is encrypted to a complex-valued random image and the original image is reconstructed by using the autocorrelation terms which is the main drawback of conventional JTC. Therefore the proposed system is more suitable for JTC and real time processing. Computer simulations and optical experiments show that the proposed system is very useful for a JTC architecture.

In optical security system using the frequency-domain JTC, we proposed the method which can remove the effect of terms caused by the shifted center of input images. Because the joint input plane of the fequency-domain JTC system is composed in a frequency domain, it needs only one Fourier transformation. In this method. the phase component appeared in the output plane of JTC should be considered. We analyze the effect of phase terms and provide the solution. By computer simulation and optical experiment, the analysis for the phase effect and the performance of the proposed system are confirmed.

A micro former among micro machines is known as a useful tool for machining micro parts. It makes micro holes automatically with punches, a hole-shape die and material by rotation of crank shaft synchronously. Micro displacement in micro forming affects on the performance of machining because micro forming size is similar with its mechanical displacement. Therefore, the measurement of this micro displacement is essential to be guaranteed to obtain high forming precision in the whole machine as well as its devices. This paper addresses the development of a laser interferometer to measure micro displacement for a micro former. The laser interferometer is able to measure micro displacement during a few micro seconds with non-contact. For the experiment, a laser probe installed on the optical table with optical devices and a micro stage. Moving mirror set up upside of micro stage. The velocity decoding board is also added to calculate doppler shift frequency directly. The output signal is processed by LabView. Finally experiments are found out the relation between displacement and output signal.
Shape Invariant Korean Character Recogmition Using Optical Associative Memory

A holographic implementation of an optical associative memory system for shape invariant recognition of the printed Korean character is proposed. The structure of the recognition system is a single-layer neural network employing feedback. To form an optical memory loop, we use cascaded Vander Lugt correlators. The first holographic correlator is made of MACE filter having a high discrimination capability. And to reduce the size of the recognition system, we multiplex four MACE filters into one. Thus, 14 consonant MACE filters and 10 vowel MACE filters can be synthesized into four consonant MMACE filters and three vowel MMACE filters, respectively. The second holographic correlator. on the other hand, is made of a CMF having broadband characteristics so that the reconstructed image has high fidelity. Computer simulation results show that the proposed system has shape invariance and high discrimition capability.

쉽게 시험할 수 특성을 가진 SLA 의 설계에 관해 논하였다. 제안된 SLA는 hardware를 부가함으로써 회로의 상태를 쉽게 조절하고 점검할 수 있게 하였다. 제안된 SLA는 test pattern과 응답이 SLA에 구현된 함수에 관계없고 단지 SLA의 크기에 따라 유일하게 결정되는 매우 짧은 보편적인 test sequence를 갖는다. 여기서 고려된 SLA의 고장은 단일 및 다중 stuck faults, crosspoint faults 및 bridge faults이다. 또한 고장의 위치 판별 및 그 처리에 관해서도 고찰하였다. Design techniques for programmable storage/logic arrays(SLA's) with easily testable features are discussed. The easily testable SLA's will be designed by using additional hardware to provide an easy means to set or check the states. These augmented SLA's have the very short universal test sequences such that the test patterns and responses are uniquely determined only by the size of the SLA's independently of the function of them. The types of faluts considered here are single and multiple stuck faults, crosspoint faults, and bridge faults in SLA's. Fault location and reapir of SLA's are also considered.

A new optical system is proposed for digital watermarking. The proposed system uses binary phase hologram and Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The mark image to be hidden is randomly phase-modulated image, and its Fourier-transformed hologram image is superposed on the original image. The mark image, the information for authentication, is extracted by using Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The availability of the proposed watermarking system is confirmed by computer simulation and optical experiment.
