이 논문에서는 오정희 소설에 나타난 젠더 정체성의 표상을 무의식적 층위에서 고찰하였다. 오정희 소설에서 젠더 정체성은 무의식을 반영하는 은유로 표상되고 있다. 작품 속 화자의 유년시절 상실체험은 애도의 과정을 끝내지 못하고 동일시 대상의 내면화로 이어진다. 때문에 화자는 여성으로서 젠더 정체성을 획득하지 못하고 자아 비난과 환멸의 시선을 가지게 된다. 다시 말해 아버지 상실 단계에서 어머니와의 애착과 통합을 통해 동일시 대상을 대체하는 과정을 거치지 못하고 아버지라는 초자아가 화자의 무의식에 자리 잡게 된다. 화자의 무의식에 자리잡은 남성 초자아는 상실의 분노를 자신에게 향하게 한다. 그 결과 화자는 자기비하와 여성 젠더에 대한 환멸적 시선을 가지게 된다. 그런데 그렇듯 불안하고 왜곡된 화자의 젠더 정체성은 작가의 후기작인 옛우물에서 변모한 모습을 보인다. 옛우물 은 화자의 무의식이 반영된 은유를 통해 내면화된 동일시 대상을 대체하는 서사로 변모한다. 작품에서 화자는 자신의 기억을 소환하여 해석하고 명명하면서 타자가 자리 잡은 초자아와의 분리와 주체적 젠더 정체성 형성을 모색하게 된다. 이 과정에서 작가 오정희의 경험과 의식이 작품 속 화자와 연동되어 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 이는 오정희가 창작을 통해 지속해온 여성적 자의식 탐구가 자신의 여성적 자의식과 무관하지 않다는 것을 말해 준다. This study considered the symbol of gender identity represented in the novels of Oh Jung-hee from the perspective of the unconscious. Gender identity in her novels is represented as a metaphor reflecting the unconscious. The experience of loss of the narrator from the childhood appearing in her works fails in completion of the process of condolences, and is connected to internalization of the object of identification. For this reason, the narrator is not able to acquire gender identity as a woman and begins to build the vision of self-condemnation and self-disillusionment. In other words, the narrator cannot go through the process of replacing the object of identification through attachment and integration with her mother in the stage of losing her father, she allows the superego called “father” to be installed in her unconscious. The male superego installed in the narrator’s unconscious leads the fury of loss to be directed to herself, and creates disillusion towards female gender. Nonetheless, the unstable and distorted gender identity of the narrator changes in “The old well” written in the late stage of production of the novelist. This work “The old well” transforms into a narrative replacing the internalized object of identification through the metaphor reflecting the unconscious of the narrator. The narrator in this work recalls her memory to interpret and designate it, until she achieves to separate superego installed by other, and seeks for formation of independent gender identity. It is possible to confirm that the experience and consciousness of the writer Oh Jung-hee are closely connected with the narrator of her own work, in the middle of this process. This demonstrates that the research of female sense of identity, which Oh Jung-hee has been maintaining through her creation, is not irrelevant to female sense of identity of her own.

오정희의 「저녁의 게임」에 나타난 헤테로토피아 양상 연구

이 논문에서는 오정희의 「저녁의 게임」에 나타난 헤테로토피아 양상과 그것이 가지는 서사적 의미를 고찰하였다. 헤테로토피아는 푸코의 근대 담론에 따른 공간 사유와 문학적 공간의 의미가 함축되어 있다. 달리 말하면 ‘다른 공간’을 뜻하는 헤테로토피아는 병렬적으로 분산된 공간에 대한 논의이며 이는 근대 공간의 경계와 배치에 관한 개념이다. 아울러 이 공간은 언어를 뒤얽고 전복하는 위반의 문학적 공간이기도 하다. 「저녁의 게임」에는 이러한 헤테로토피아적 정향이 드러나 있다. 「저녁의 게임」은 화자의 불안정한 심리상태에 기인한 표층 공간과 심층 공간이 혼재적으로 서사된다. 다시 말해 「저녁의 게임」에서 헤테로토피아는 화자에게 전도되고 이를 통해 화자는 기만의 일상적 공간을 중화하고 중단한다. 또한 위반의 공간 생성은 부여된 규제를 향한 저항이며 경계를 허무는 몸짓이다. 이러한 연구는 해체적 서사전략을 통해 위계질서의 위선을 드러내는 과정을 검토함으로써 문학의 윤리적 소임에 대한 작가의 지향과 방법에 대한 새로운 시각을 제시할 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. This study considered aspects of heterotopia and its narrative significance observed in "An evening game" of Oh Jung-hee. Heterotopia implies ideas of spaces and literary spaces based on the modern discourse of Michel Foucault. It is because heterotopia referring to "other spaces" is a discourse about spaces dispersed in parallel and a notion related to the boundary and placement of modern spaces. Moreover, these spaces can also be literary spaces of violation where languages are intertwined and subverted. This inclination of heterotopia is observed in the author's work, "An evening game." The narration of "An evening game" is simultaneously mixed between the surface layer space caused by unstable psychological state of the narrator and the deep space. In other words, heterotopia in "An evening game" is transmitted to the narrator, and the narrator consequently neutralizes and ceases the daily space of deception. Moreover, the generation of space of violation is considered resistance to the given regulations and a gesture destroying the boundary. This study has significance in the sense that contributes to proposing a new perspective of the author's orientation and methods regarding the ethical mission of literature, by inquiring into the process of which hypocrisy of hierarchical order is revealed through deconstruction-based narrative strategies.
