신상필,김지형,데니스 고메즈,카시아노 추레스카,한지은,박세창 한국임상수의학회 2009 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.26 No.4
An Asian water monitor Varanus salvator with physical wound due to bite which was subsequently infected with bacterium resulting to hemorrhage and pus in the skin blisters, abdominal distention and septicemia. Morganella morganii was isolated and identified from the blood and kidney of the reptile, and confirmed by PCR and biochemical tests. The sensitivity of isolated strains to different groups of antibiotics was also evaluated using the disc diffusion method. Pathogenicity test using M. morganii (SNUFPC-MM01) (1.6 × 1011CFU/mouse) to suckling and adult mice resulted to the death of all mice. This paper describes the first isolation of M. morganii from Asian water monitor in Korea.

A giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) that was reared for public exhibition in a private commercial aquarium in Seoul, Korea, was recently found dead. The fish had evidenced symptoms including anorexia, lethargy, and depression persisting for two weeks. A bacterial pathogen from fish organs (kidney, liver, spleen) was cultured, identified and confirmed as Photobacterium damselae subsp. damselae, using a Vitek System 2, API 20E test, multiplex PCR, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. In this paper, we have described the isolation and identification of Photobacterium damselae subsp. damselae from a giant grouper reared in a private aquarium in Korea.
Mass Mortality of Doctor Fish (Garra rufa obtusa) Caused by Citrobacter freundii Infection
백근욱,김지형,카시아노 초레스카,데니스 고메즈,신상필,한지은,박세창 한국임상수의학회 2009 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.26 No.2
In this paper, we described a case of mass mortality of doctor fish from a private fish hatchery farm in Korea with a history of abnormal swimming behavior, diffuse bleeding on the skin and fins and sudden death caused by fish pathogenic bacteria, Citrobacter freundii. Twelve moribund fish fingerling samples were submitted to College of Veterinary Medicine, Seoul National University in October 2008 for diagnostic examination. Diagnostic results showed that the morphological and biochemical properties of the bacteria isolated from the moribund fish were C. freundii. The remaining diseased fish from the hatchery farm were given treatment based on our recommendation and successfully recovered.
어름치(Hemibarbus mylodon)에서 Clinostomum complanatum 감염증
김지형,김경연,오태엽,장환,조성준,데니스 고메즈,카시아노 허모피아,박세창 한국임상수의학회 2008 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.25 No.4
The metacercariae species have often been isolated from fresh water fish in Korea. In this study, we reported Clinostomum complanatum, a species of metacercariae isolated from gill and muscle of Korean barbel (Hemibarbus mylodon), a natural monument fresh water fish in Korea, by morphological observation. The excysted metacercariae, tongue-shaped and progenetic, were 3.11-4.62 mm in length and 0.90-1.43 mm in width. Fresh water fishes are known as the second intermediate hosts of C. complanatum. This is the first isolation report from Korean barbel.
