현재 우리나라 산업전반으로 볼 때 ‘제품디자인’에 대한 관심과 지원은 점차 증대되고 있다. 하지만 아직도 수많은 업체와 제품성적에 따라서 그 편차 또한 크다. 이에 보여주는 제품디자인 분야에서 다소 생소할 수 있는 타이어디자인의 개발사례를 통해 좀더 다양한 제품디자인 프로세스와 디자인의 다양성을 이해하는 데 조금이나마 도움이 되었으면 한다. 타이어 하면 일반적으로 먼저 생각나는 것이 ‘검다’, ‘둥그렇다’,‘굴러다닌다’ 이런 정도다. 감성소비시대로 불리고 있는 요즘 아직도 많은 소비자들, 아니 디자이너들조차 “타이어에 디자인이 필요해?”라며 디자인을 왜 하는지 궁금해하는 사람들이 많다. 다양한 정보와 제품의 홍수 속에서 타사와의 차별화만이 경쟁력의 핵심요소로 부상하고 있는 지금 타이어의 경우도 예외일순 없다. 따라서 제품경쟁력의 핵심요소로 성능과 가장 밀접한 관계가 있는 Tread Pattern Design은 그만큼 중요한 경쟁요소인 것이다. 이에 본 개발사례에 관한 연구는 타이어디자인의 사례연구로 디자인 저 관여 제품으로 인식된 타이어디자인이 어떻게 전개되고, 또한 왜 타이어는 디자인이 중요한가를 소비자와 디자이너가 조금이나마 인식되기를 기대한다. It has gradually grown a interest in Product Design in the industry of Korea. But there is a wide difference between both product characteristics and companies. The design of tire could be unfamiliar in the area of product design. For that reason, this study shows to understand the various method of product design process and variety of design through the development of tire design. Tire will remind you 'black', 'round', 'roo on' etc. A number of consumers and designers are curious to know 'why does tire need to be designed?' in this current consuming age. In the diversity of the information and product, only a product of distinction can be won in a competition. The tire design is no exception this rule. Therefore, a tread pattern design is the most important competitiveness which is related to the competitiveness of product. this study of tire design explains a evolution of tire design which has not interested in yet, as well as requirement of the processing tire design systematically.
