고전소설 결연징표의 현대적 변용 연구 - K-drama를 중심으로-

This study focuses on the transformation and succession of the “token of a match” in K-dramas. It is a common and key element in Korean classic novels. While there are some changes in the form of K-dramas, their essence has not changed. The essence of the token of a match is decided fate. This idea has remained in the unconscious minds of the Korean people in the form of fate, as it appears in K-dramas, and it is the token of a match that becomes the proof of fate. In K-dramas, men and women confirm inevitability and fate by symbolizing them with the tokens, and the destiny love represented by these tokens has an irreplaceable and absolute value. Thus, it can be confirmed that the token of a match and the ideas and rituals contained therein are the same for the Korean people regardless of the passage of time. If we recognize in our own mind the need to preserve our uniqueness, it will be a great force for K-culture to develop in a desirable direction and our content can stand out in the world. 이 논문은 남녀의 인연을 이루는 매개체로써 고전소설의 주요 소재로 활용된 ‘결연징표’가 현대 한국의 대표적인 대중 서사인 K-drama를 통해 어떻게 변형되면서 계승되고 있는지를 살펴본 것이다. K-drama의 결연징표는 시대의 변화에 따라 그 형태와 서사적 맥락에 다소의 변화가 나타난다. 하지만 고전소설에서부터 이어져 온 ‘결연징표’ 화소의 본질은 천정인연을 바탕으로 한 필연론이다. 이런 사상은 우리 민족의 무의식 속에서 이어져 내려왔다. 그리고 그것은 K-drama에서 ‘운명’이란 말로 등장하고, 그 운명의 증거가 되는 것이 바로 ‘결연징표’이다. K-drama의 애정 서사에서도 주인공 남녀는 결연징표로 인해 운명임을 확인하고, 이에 따르는 그들의 사랑 또한 대체불가한 절대성을 갖는다. 이를 통해 ‘결연징표’와 그에 담긴 사상과 의식은 시대가 흘러도 우리 민족에게 동일하게 계승되고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 우리 문화 콘텐츠가 세계적으로 더 빛날 수 있는 방법은 가장 우리다운 것의 발현에 있음을 인식하고, 우리가 갖고 있는 이러한 고유성을 알고 살린다면 K-culture가 방향성을 가지고 발전하는 데 큰 힘이 될 것이다.

<편옥기우기>의 결연 양상 연구

This study aims to examine narrative features and meanings inPyeonOkGiugi from the perspective of marriage. Marriage is a drivingforce in the overall work. PyeonOkGiugi distinguishes itself from otherclassic Korean novels in the aspect of marriage. The two main characteristics of the marriage in PyeonOkGiugi are,first, the connection and accumulation of the signs of spouse elements. A single strong sign of a spouse does not lead to an overall epicmarriage relationship, but several elements-such as fate made inheaven, a dream, a poem and a piece of jade-are connected and addedto each other to form the absolute relationship between the male andfemale protagonists. The second characteristic is the maximization ofthe role of the assistant. The assistants act as agents for the heroineand appear as partners who share the same belief. The maleprotagonist and his family make connections with the ideologycomprised of loyalty, filial piety, and devotion, which the femaleprotagonist’s family has maintained. The marriage between male andfemale protagonists in PyeonOkGiugi is not just the attainment ofaffection but also the realization of ideological protection andvalue-sharing solidarity. The extreme conservative ideology of the female protagonist’s familyrepresents the writer’s consciousness of rebuilding the ideology represented by loyalty, filial piety, and devotion, which collapsedduring the late Joseon Dynasty. Therefore, understanding marriage inthe context of PyeonOkGiugi can help us find its meaning byappreciating not only the interesting part of the work but also its themeand value orientation.

한중 고전소설의 결연징표 비교 연구 - 유형별 서사구조와 변별성을 중심으로-

This study focuses on narratives of token of match in Korean-Chinese classic novels. This is to clarify the meaning of token of match in Korean classic novels. There are common tokens of match in Korean-Chinese classic Novels. First, token of match work in presentation of relationship, confirmation of relationship, and marriage. Secondly, these works also can be divided into three categories of token of match such as birth, dream and exchange types. However, absolute value and solidarity(sense of unity) are characteristics unique to Korean classc novels. And it makes differences in narrative conflict and the closing of the novel between them. Compared to Chinese classic novels, token of match in Korean-Chinese classic novels is Especially absolute in terms of values. This stands out in two ways. First, token of match works only for marriage in Korean classic novels. Even though it's a very precious thing, no one else covets because It works only for match. Secondly, token of match have solidarity(sense of unity) only for one match and persons concerned in Korean classic novels. In conclusion, we can now understand how important the token of match is in Korean-Chinese classic novels and expect more following studies on the theme. 본고는 한중 고전소설에 나타난 결연징표의 비교를 통해 한국 고전소설에서 결연징표가 지니는 의미를 보다 분명히 하고자 하였다. 그 결과 한중 고전소설에서 결연징표가 결연의 제시, 확인, 완성에 작용한다는 점, 결연징표의 유형이 천부형, 몽중제시형, 현세교환형으로 나뉜다는 점에서 유사하다는 것을 알게 되었다. 하지만 양국 소설은 결연징표가 지니는 절대성과 결속성에 있어서 차이를 보이고, 그것은 곧 갈등과 결말 처리 방식에도 영향을 미친다는 사실도 알게 되었다. 이처럼 한국 고전소설에 나타나는 결연징표는 중국 고전소설과 대비한 결과 그 가치와 기능 면에서 차이가 존재한다. 이는 두 가지 측면에서 두드러지게 나타난다. 첫째, 결연징표가 결연의 징표로만 작용한다. 결연징표는 누구나 갖고 싶어 하는 보배임에도 불구하고 다른 이가 탐을 낼 수 없는 절대적 존재감을 지닌다. 이는 결연징표를 바라보는 인식의 차이가 인물마다 다르게 드러나는 중국과 대조적이다. 둘째, 한국의 결연징표는 하나의 인연, 인물에 일대일로 대응되는 결속성을 갖는다. 이는 결연징표가 인연, 인물과 별개로 분리되어 작용할 수 있다고 믿는 중국 고전소설과 큰 차이가 있다. 결국 한국 고전소설에서의 결연징표는 중국 고전소설과 달리 결연 서사 및 작품 전체에 깊게 관여함을 알 수 있다. 그런 점에서 이 연구는 한국 고전소설에 나타나는 결연징표에 대한 좀 더 심도 있는 연구가 지속되는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.

적강인물 결연서사의 결연징표 재고 - <구운몽>과 <숙향전>을 중심으로 -

본 연구는 방각본 소설의 적강인물 결연서사를 바탕으로 결연징표의 요건과 유형 분류의 기준이 어떻게 설정되어야 하는지에 대해 고찰한 것이다. 방각본 소설의 적강인물 결연서사 중 결연징표의 성립 여부와 유형이 애매하게 나타나는 작품의 사례는 <구운몽 > 과 <숙향전> 에서 찾아볼 수 있다. <구운몽>은 천상계에서 만난 성진과 팔선녀의 인연이 인간계의 삶에서 어떻게 전개되는가에 따라 결연징표의 역할과 유형을 구분할 수 있다. < 숙향전>에는 천정인연의 증거가 되는 여럿의 결연징표가 중첩되어 나타난다. 따라서 <숙향전> 결연징표의 기능과 유형을 분류하고 정립하기 위해서는 그 중심이 되는 결연징표를 기점으로 또 다른 여러 결연징표들이 어떤 관계로 엮이어지는지를 확인하여야 한다. <구운몽>과 <숙향전> 관련 지금까지의 연구 흐름은 천상계를 중심으로 천상계의 등장인물 상호 간의 관련성에서 그 의미를 찾는 작업이 주류를 이루었다. 하지만 이 두 작품의 결연서사를 흥미롭게 견인하는 내용과 구조는 그 분량과 빈도 면에서만 보아도 천상계보다 인간계에 집중되고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 적강인물의 등장과 천정연분론에 갇혀 인간계를 등한시하고 천상계 중심으로만 살펴온 기존 연구의 선입견과 일반론에서 벗어나고자 한다. 그 결과 작품의 중심 서사를 인간계의 인물관계를 통해 전개되는 결연서사에 두고 이를, 문학적으로 가능하게 만드는결연징표의 요건과 유형이 무엇인지를 <구운몽>과 <숙향전>의 구체적사례를 빌려 더 명확하게 밝혔다. This study was conducted on marriage relationship epics of people expelled from heaven in ancient Korean woodblock novels. In particular, it aims to review the classification criteria. Guunmong and Sukhyang-jeon are works whose classification of Tokens of a match is ambiguous among ancient Korean woodblock novels. In Guunmong, Tokens of a match can be classified according to how the relationship between men and women met in the heavenly world affects the life of the human world. In Sookhyangjeon, tokens of a match that prove fate made in heaven continue to appear in various forms. therefore, It is necessary to check the relationship between the token that are the center of a match and the other tokens. This is because this process allows us to classify tokens of a match and set the criteria for the type. Until now, research on Guunmong and Sukhyang-jeon has mainly focused on finding its meaning, focusing on the heaven. However, it should be noted that the background that interestingly leads marriage relationship epics of these two works is centered on the story of the human world. Therefore, this study focused on the story of the human world, away rom the prejudice and general theory of existing studies that focused only on heaven. As a result, this study was able to more clearly identify the requirements and types of tokens of a match by looking at marriage relationship epics focusing on human relations in the human world.
