Among Hangul's letters I select 64 complex-structured letters containing twin and double consonants and produce them in the bold condensed sans-serif type, and then I compare them with the existing letters. The results are as follows : when we make Hangul in the ligature, I make sure of the fact that its readability becomes higher than that of the existing letters because the complexity of its letters' steokes gets reduced steikingly and the space of the letter's inner parts also gets widened a little. And I come to get the result that its bold condensed sans-serif type reduces the phenomenon of giving a strong stimulus to our eyes, not to speak of its beauty and well-balancedness.

Various objects that exist in the space where we live in all have color. Colors bring inspiring emotions to peoples' hearts, making our lives abundant, and we people cannot do without them; they have a close relationship with our lives. We simply haven't observed them consciously but even when we are blinking our eyes, we are experiencing big changes related to color. These are changes which occur according to the existence of light. The moment a person blinks his/her eyes, or in other words, the time span during which one cannot see objects because light is cut off by closing his/her eyes, is so short that the change is not recognized, since it does not give a great effect to people's lives. No matter how developed a person's sight is, distinguishing color and even the existence of objects is impossible when there is no light. Therefore, there must be light for external elements of objects to be perceived as colors to the eyes. Such perceived colors, with physical perception processes, form color images as personal experience and memories join with cultural environments. Therefore, various emotions and images form through individual emotion and association processes and each color images is universal and have social and cultural meanings. Therefore, this study researched the symbolic image of crimson colors that have been held by Korean people and of how color psychologies of crimson colors felt by age group (sixties, forties, twenties) are changing according to time periods and historical backgrounds.

음악적 접근을 통한 창의적 생명과학활동이 유아의 생명과학개념, 과학적 태도와 음악창의성에 미치는 영향

This study explores the effects of creative life science activities through musical approach on young children’s life science concepts, scientific attitudes and musical creativities. Subjects were 48 five-year-olds(24 in the experimental group; 24 in the comparison group) in P kindergarten. The experimental group participated in creative life science activities through musical approach, and the comparison group participated in general life science activities for 12 weeks. The data were analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, t-tests, ANCOVA using SPSS 20.0. The results show that creative life science activities through musical approach contribute significantly to improvement of young children’s scientific attitudes and music creativities. Both activities contribute to improvement of young children’s life science concepts, but there was no significant difference between activities. The common life science activities would also help development of children’s life science concepts, however, creative life science activities through musical approach showed significant positive effect not only on life science concepts, but also on development of scientific attitudes and musical creativities. These results proved the effects of integrated life science-music activities, and proposed ideas about integrated life science-music activities and creative activities for teachers. 본 연구는 음악적 접근을 통한 창의적 생명과학활동이 유아의 생명과학개념, 과학적 태도 및 음악창의성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 P유치원 만 5세 유아로, 실험집단과 비교집단 각 24명, 총 48명이었다. 연구목적에 따라 실험집단에는 음악적 접근을 통한 창의적 생명과학활동을 적용하고, 비교집단에는 일반 생명과학활동을 훈련받은 담임교사가 12주 간 적용하였다. 자료는 SPSS 20.0 프로그램으로 기술통계, t검증, 공변량분석방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 본 활동은 특히 유아의 과학적 태도, 음악창의성에 유의한 효과가 나타났다. 유아의 생명과학개념은 두 집단 모두 사후 점수가 향상되었지만, 집단 간 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 일반 생명과학활동도 유아의 생명과학개념 발달을 도울 수 있지만, 음악적 접근의 창의적 생명과학활동은 생명과학개념 뿐 아니라 과학적 태도와 음악 창의성에도 유의한 영향을 미친다는 결과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 생명과학과 음악의 통합교육활동의 효과를 실증하였으며, 교사들에게 생명과학과 음악의 통합활동과 창의적 활동의 아이디어를 제공하였다.

한글 가로쓰기 완성형 활자체에 대한 연구

Hanguel is what has been trimmed and polished by our ancestors who have really loved and grudged Hanguel in spite of suffering from varous severe trials and adverse situations for 540 years since 1446 when Hanguel was invented and announced. The rapid growth of economics made us require a variety of Hanguel Letters and made us require to make Letters suitable for the various purposes of use. Nevertheless Hanguel is under the position of lacking of Hanguel Lettering Styles and much more lacking of the basic study about lettering based on the scientific and logic system. Under these present circumstances I have researched for the making method after the analysis and comparison of Hanguel's structure in terms of the modeling principle of horizontal lines as the basic study for the imporvement of Hnaguel's "completion Letter Style on Horizontal Line Writing". The results are follows : 1.The orderliness was elevated through the strong action of horizontal lines in the low, mid and high positions. 2.The readability was increased because it was easy to make a distinction between the letters according to the number of formative elements. 3. The harmony was increased because the size of consonants was changed by small width. 4.It became much more concise by trimming the white spaces of low and high area to the low area. 5.It became much more pertinenced between vertical and horizontal width. This study aimed at investigating the structure and frame of Hanguel Lettering as a basic process of improving it. From now on I hope that this study is helpful for the improvement of the Hanguel's beautiful and excellent Completion Letter Style on Horizontal Line Writing by trying the serif and the variation of thickness on the basis of this kind of Letter Structure and Frame.

한글 Logotype를 위한 제 Modul에 대한 연구

To make the logotypes of trademarks or company names in the Korean language, in general we may need many kinds of design principles, such as those of harmony, systematization, estheticness, originality, readability, and so forth. Therefore, this study suggests five kinds of module to give concrete forms of these principles. These five modules are as follows : (a) module of reducing the 『ㅎ』horizontal line which contains a great number of horizontal lines in the Korean consonants ; (b) module of the letter 『원』and similar letters which contains much difficulty in designing the logotypes in the Korean language ; (c) module of putting to the same lines the lower lines of initial sound letters and the upper lines of last sound letters, and then reducing the upper and lower width of the logotypes in the Korean language; (d) four types of modules in which each design of the horizontal lines is different in the sentence unit ; (e) module of designing the thickness of the horizontal lines in two types.
