Wild ginseng pharmacopuncture is a partly used Traditional Korean Medicines therapy with no previously well documented hepatotoxicity. We report the the first case of suspected drug-induced liver injury (DILI) after intravenous Wild ginseng Pharmacopuncture therapy. Our clinical observation based on patients laboratory studies, medical history, detailed drug history and ruling out other possible causes. Our patients suspected diagnosis was wild ginseng pharmacopuncture-induced liver injury with correlation between detailed drug history and laboratory studies. This diagnosis was supported by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences-Roussel Uclaf Causality Assessment Method(RUCAM). This report represents the first documented cases of suspected DILI after intravenous wild ginseng pharmacopuncture therapy, highlighting the need for future research regarding potential hepatotoxicity of Wild ginseng Pharmacopuncture.

This study examines a clinical progress of treatment for the sequelae of facial palsy through Jung-ahn acupuncture. The patient in this case was diagnosed with facial paralysis a few years ago. The patient was treated with Korean medicine and Western medicine, but was given up without improvement. The paretic symptom was found out in left side of the face. Also facial spasm and epiphora caused by blepharoptosis were existed. The patient got 8 times Jung-ahn acupuncture treatment from September 18th, 2014 to September 26th, 2014. House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system(H-B scale) was implemented. On the first time of the treatment, H-B scale was Grade Ⅴ and facial nerve grading was 2/8. Facial spasm and epiphora caused by blepharoptosis in lower eyelid were appeared on facial expressions and conversation. After total 8 treatments(therapies), H-B scale was Grade Ⅲ and facial nerve grading was 5/8. The symptoms of facial paralysis and blepharoptosis were improved. Jung-ahn acupuncture is estimated to be effective in facial palsy sequela. More cases are required to develop treatment of facial palsy sequela.

The purpose of this study is to report a clinical progress of sudden hearing loss through korean medicine. Between 26th Mar. 2014 and 19th Apr. 2014, she was treated with Chuna manual therapy every day and observed by Pure Tone Audiometry (before and after) and visual analogue pain scale (VAS). A patient was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss on 23th Dec. 2013 in Severance Hospital, she had sudden hearing loss on left side. She had 19 times treatments. At the first of treatment, her audibility was 20 dB on right side, 74 dB on left side and she had tinitus and ear fullness (VAS 8 / VAS 9). At the middle of treatment (2nd Apr. 2014), symptoms of tinitus and ear fullness started improving. State was tinitus VAS 6, ear fullness VAS 6. At the end of treatment (21th Apr. 2014), state was tinitus VAS 4, ear fullness VAS 4, and recorded 35 dB on right side, 80 dB on left side in pure tone audiometry. Chuna manual therapy is estimated to be good for sudden hearing loss especially on tinitus and ear fullness. More cases are required to develop treatment of sudden hearing loss. Objectives The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of Chuna and Stylex device treatment in patients with genu varum. Methods 2 patients (21/male, 40/female) with genu varum were recruited in this study. Chuna treatment at pelvic, and stylex device treatment at both legs were applied to all participants. Outcomes were assessed using Q-angle (Quadriceos angle), TFA (Tibiovemoral angle), Distance of both sides patella. Results 1. Distance of both sides patella were decrease in all case. 2. Q-angel and TFA were decrease in case 1. but slight invrease in case 2. Conclusions This study showed that Chuna and Stlyex divice treatments could be used as an effective method for decrease distance of both sides patella. but Q-angle and TFA need more research on whether proper assessment as a measure of genu varum.
