This study seeks to clarify how the KAP learners utilizing his/her academic literacy practice to complete his/her academic activities in the real academic contexts. I proceeded a case study with my participant ‘IZ’ who is a 22-years-old Chinese student majoring in Politics. To get a ‘thick description’ for IZs’ case, I triangulated my data analysed those data by the method suggested by Strauss & Corbin(1998). As a result, although with limited Korean proficiency, IZ basically could manage all of his academic activities. IZ also struggled to apply his academic and linguistic experience in China, tried to build a social relationship with who could help him academically. Last but not least, the negotiation of identities also made great influences on IZs’ academic literacy practice.
