        A Study on Students’ Perceptions of Grammar-Learning Activities Utilizing TV-Series

        This study pursues two aims: first, it introduced TV-series based activities embedded into an EFL grammar class, partly following the cognitive-affective model of learning through watching subtitled video; second, it examined the participants’ changes in linguistic, cultural, and affective perceptions as a result of semester-long activities. The pre- and post-surveys involved seven items for each domain, in total twenty-one items. The participants were twenty-six Korean students who enrolled in an obligatory EFL grammar course offered by a Korean university. The participants revealed statistically significant changes in linguistic and affective domain, particularly for the speaking-related items. Furthermore, the results of qualitative research showed that the learners were very satisfied with the use of TV-series in grammar class in that they contributed to providing fun and resources for the authentic application of English grammar. It is suggested that more sophisticated use of TV-series will further increase English learners’ grammar competence.

        DSA 전극의 산성용액에서의 양극산소발생

        산소 과전압을 줄이기 위하여 RuO₂, IrO₂, MnO₂를 다공성 티타늄판에 형성시킨 DSA(Dimensionally Stable Anode)를 제조하여 산화물 특성, 양극 분극특성, 전극경시 변화, 아연전착 양상 등을 조사하였다. RuO₂, IrO₂, MnO₂의 결정형태, 표면조성 및 열적 특성을 XRD, ESCA, DTA로 조사하였다. 안정제로 IrO₂를 혼합한 RuO₂-IrO₂/Ti 전극이 전해특성 및 안정성이 우수하게 나타났으며 납전극에 비하여 약 450㎷의 소극성 효과를 기할 수 있었다. DSA(Dimensionally Stable Anode) electrodes for reducing oxygen overvoltage were prepared by forming RuO₂, IrO₂ and MnO₂ on perforated titanium plate and their anodic polarization characteristics, life time of electrodes and surface morphology of zinc electrodeposits were investigated in acid solutions. The crystal structure, surface composition and thermal property of oxides were investigated by XRD, ESCA and DTA. The RuO₂IrO₂/Ti electrode formed by mixing IrO₂ as stabilizer showed good in electrolysis property and stability and the depolarization effect of this electrode was about 450 ㎷ compared with lead electrode.

        급속모래여과 공정에서의 여과보조제에 의한 수질개선효과 연구

        The objective of this study it to evaluate the microbial safety in rapid sand filters adapted in most drinking water treatment plants. The potential pathogens to cause water quality problems Are presumed to be Giardia and Gryptosporidium. They look like particles in view of their size. It has been reported that if the number of particles (larger than 2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in water) is less than 100 per mL and its turbidity is below 0.1 NTU, it is considered as a safe water in terms of pathogens. In order to achieve such a good water quality. filter-aids (chemicals) were added to the inlet-channel of filter and their effectiveness was evaluated on the basis of water quality factors such as turbidity and particle counting. This study was conducted in she three steps of experiment: jar test. pilot plant test and real water treatment plant test (P plant in seoul). The experiment reult of the P water treatment showed that cationic polyamine was the most effective in the removal of particles and turbidity at the does of 0.25 mg/L. The turbidity without filer-aids showed in the range of 0.12 ~0.17 NTU during filtration and 0.14 NTU on the average. However. with addition of polyamine, the turbidity represented below(or less than) 0.1 NTU after 20 min in the start of filtration and kept 0.08 NTU on the average. On the other hand, as for number of particles, while no filter-aids led to the range of 111 ~270 per mL and 190 on the average, addition of polydmine led to 113 per mL on talc average, and kept below100 per mL after 20 min in the start of filtration.

        본 고에서는 로봇 자체에서 제공하기 어려운 고기능의 로봇 서비스를 다수의 이기종 로봇 플랫폼에게 안정적으로 제공할 수 있는 네트워크 기반 로봇 표준 환경으로 개발하고 있는 RUPI 서버 소프트웨어 플랫폼에 대하여 기술한다. RUPI 서버 소프트웨어 플랫폼은 원격에서 로봇 클라이언트의 상태를 진단하고 복구하는 로봇 클라이언트 관리 기술, 로봇 클라이언트에서 수행되기 어려운 응용 컴포넌트를 로봇 클라이언트를 대신하여 적재, 관리, 실행하는 로봇 클라이언트 응용 관리기술, 상황인지 기반의 원격 로봇 응용 개발 및 운용을 위한 원격 로봇 응용 플랫폼 기술, 다수의 이종 로봇 클라이언트가 안정적으로 접속할 수 있도록 고가용성을 보장하는 RUPI 서버 가용성 기술로 구성되며 본 고에서는 이를 위한 표준기술 규격과 동향 및 구현 기술에 대하여 살펴본다.

        Li / V6O13 리튬 폴리머 전지의 성능

        Li/V_6O_(13) 전지의 성능과 poly(acrylonitrile)[PAN]계 폴리머 전해질의 전기화학적인 성질을 조사 하였다. 폴리머 전해질의 이온 전도도는 상온에서 2.3×10^(-3)S/㎝를 보였으며 리튬 전극과의 상용성도 우수하였다 또한 4.3V(vs. Li^+/Li)까지의 전기화학적인 안정성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. Li/V_6O_(13) 전지 반응은 V_6O_(13) 전극과 폴리머 전해질간의 계면저항이 지배적 이었다. V_6O_(13)내의 리튬 이온의 확산 계수값은 2.7×10^(-9)∼4.2×10^(-8)㎠/sec로 나타났다. V_6O_(13) 활물질의 이용률은 C/8(50㎂/㎠)에서 95%였으며 C/4(100㎂/㎠)에서는 82%로 각각 나타났다. The performance of Li/V_6O_(13) cell and the electrochemical properties of polymer electrolyte based on poly(acrylonitrile)[PAN] was investigated. The ionic conductivity of polymer electrolyte showed 2.3×10^(-3)S/㎝ and the compatibility with lithium electrode was excellent. Also, it showed the electrochemical stability up to 4.3V(vs. Li^+/Li). The cell reaction of Li/V_6O_(13) was dominated by the interfacial resistance between V_6O_(13) electrode and polymer electrolyte. The diffusion coefficient of lithium ion within V_6O_(13) was 2.7×10^(-9)∼4.2×10^(-8)㎠/sec. The utilization of V_6O_(13) active material was 95% at C/8(50㎂/㎠) and 82% at C/4(100㎂/㎠), respectively.

        Precision Capsular Infarct Modeling to Produce Hand Motor Deficits in Cynomolgus Macaques

        Stroke research in non-human primates (NHPs) with gyrencephalic brains is a critical step in overcoming the translational barrier that limits the development of new pharmaceutical and rehabilitative strategies for stroke. White-matter stroke (WMS) has a unique pathophysiology from graymatter stroke and is not well understood because of a lack of pertinent animal models. To create a precise capsular infarct model in the cynomolgus macaque, we first used electrical stimulation to map hand movements, followed by viral tracing of the hand motor fibers (hMFs). This enabled us to identify stereotactic targets in the posterior limb of the internal capsule (PLIC). Neural tracing showed that hMFs occupy the full width of the PLIC, owing to overlap with the motor fibers for the leg. Furthermore, the hMFs were distributed in an oblique shape, requiring coronal tilting of the target probe. We used the photothrombotic infarct lesioning technique to precisely destroy the hMFs within the internal capsule. Double-point infarct lesioning that fully compromised the hMFs resulted in persistent hand motor and walking deficits whereas single-point lesioning did not. Minor deviations in targeting failed to produce persistent motor deficits. Accurate stereotactic targeting with thorough involvement of motor fibers is critical for the production of a capsular infarct model with persistent motor deficits. In conclusion, the precision capsular infarct model can be translated to the NHP system to show persistent motor deficits and may be useful to investigate the mechanism of post-stroke recovery as well as to develop new therapeutic strategies for the WMS.
