The foot is only a part of body, but it is marvelously well organized. About 52 pieces, a quarter of bones which organize human body, are concentrated on foot, and ligaments over 100 closely connect to bones and muscles, so absorb external pressure and smooth the body movement. Especially the sole of foot is the place on where 700 or more nerve branches spread through out, and the functioning of whole body is activated by moderate stimulation on this part. Like this, Reflexology is the method which stimulates the reflex parts on our body with massage to improve the whole body functioning and cultivate immunizing power. Especially there are reflex parts of internal organs largely distributed on foot, so on the sides of fatigue and stress relieving, functional disorder for each part, and other beauty and health treatment, it is easy to have access to, also the efficacy worth expecting. This Reflexology have been used widely remedy since Ancient Egypt as folk, and these days it is spotlighted as alternative medicine in Germany, Japan, United States and so forth. In Korea, actually studies and instructing activities on Reflexology is also lively conducted, but the correct and proper education of expert knowledges and techniques on foot treatment must precede for Reflexology to take firm hold in Esthetic field under this kind of situation. At the same time, Reflexology must be conducted as a method for beauty, never as a medicine or cure. This study suggested that theoretical system and technique Reflexology. But this study says the limitation of exact data. The various effects and method should be suggested through aboundant clinical application in the future.
중·노년의 홍삼복용이 심폐능력과 인지능력에 미치는 영향

This study was performed to investigate the effect of 12 weeks red ginseng intaking on the cardiovascular andcognitie performance in the middle-aged and elderly women. Sixty-four volunteers, all over 55 years of age, agreed to participate and were placed in 8 groups; in the elderly (65-74 yrs), ginseng intaking and exercise group(n=8), only exercise group(n=8), only ginseng intaking group(n=8), and control group(n=8); in the millde-aged(55-64 yrs), ginseng intaking and exercise group(n=8), only exercise group(n=8), only ginseng intaking group(n=8), and control group(n=8). The subjects who joined this program were asked to take red ginseng or participate in exercise program(3 times/week, 80min/day), depending on particular group for 12 weeks. They were tested on their heart rate for resting and sub-maximum exercise and cognitive performance tasks(information processing speed and WAIS-test) at the beginning and the end of the 12-weeks program. For data analysis, mean and standard deviatin scores were calulcated and ANOVAs were used. In the middle-aged, ginseng intaking was influenced on both information processing speed(represented by finger simple reaction time and choice reaction time), and spatial ability andinoformation processing performance on visual stimulation (Trail-making). There was also exercise effect on same tasks. But ginseng intakig was not influenced on cardiovascular function and other cognitive tasks(eye-hand corordination, digit-span, Digit-symbol substitution, tapping). In the elderly, ginseng intaking was not influenced on any information processing speed and cognitive tasks. These results indicate that ginseng intaking may be useful for information processing speed of the middle-aged, but not for that of the elderly.

Lead-free $0.98(Na_{0.5},K_{0.5})NbO_3-0.02Li(Sb_{0.17}Ti_{0.83})O_3$ (hereafter 0.98NKN-0.02LST) ceramics doped with $Ag_2O$ were prepared using a conventional mixed oxide method. The specimen showed superior structural and electrical properties when 1 mol% $Ag_2O$ was doped. For the 0.98NKN-0.02LST+1.0mol%$Ag_2O$ ceramics sintered at $1,100^{\circ}C$, piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of sample showed the optimum values of 207 pC/N. The 0.98NKN-0.02LST+1.0 mol%$Ag_2O$ ceramics are a promising candidate for lead-free piezoelectric materials.
