This paper deals with two controversial points : “Is ``The internal progress theory`` singular as a method to study the old Korean novel?” and “What are validity and limitation of ``The internal progress theory``?” The paper intends to examine history of the old Korean novel after 1970s through the lens of the aforementioned controversial points. Regarding the former, the paper states ``The internal progress theory`` has been renewed by identifying a novel as “a narrative of combat”, “a narrative of concreteness” and “a narrative of desire”. Therefore, the paper insists ``The internal progress theory`` should not be considered singular as a method to study the old Korean novel. The paper further mentions that the ‘renewal’ is a process of identifying problems of Modernism and escaping from it. Regarding the latter, the paper asserts that the study of the old Korean novel based on ``The internal progress theory`` has a tendency to contemplate mainly on “the problem of colonization” and “the problem of ownership”; therefore, ``The internal progress theory`` is still valid. However, its limitations are its tendency keep a distance from the problems of post-modernism such as “feminism” and “medievalism”. In summary, the paper claims that there is a common section between ‘The internal progress theory’ and ‘post-modernism’, and it is necessary to build dialogic relationship between those two when studying old Korean novel.

Liposarcoma is one of the most common malignancies originating from human soft tissue. Because most of liposarcoma occur in the lower extremities or retroperitoneum, there are few reports about liposarcoma of head and neck region, including larynx and pharynx. Histologically, there are four types of liposarcoma, and prognosis and recurrence rate are different according to histologic subtype. Wide excision is the treatment of choice and liposarcoma hardly respond to primary radiotherapy. A 56-year-old man presented with voice change and foreign body sensation in laryngopharynx. Hypopharyngeal liposarcoma was diagnosed by surgical biopsy and performed totallaryngopharyngoesophagectomy and gastric pull-up. Here we report our experience on this case with review of literature.

Recently, many natural medicines, whose advantages are less side effects and possibility of long-term use, have been studied for their capacity, their anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and regenerative potential of periodontal tissues. Cervi Parvum Comu(CPC) have been traditionally study as an hale, growth. hematogenous, anti-aging, hack pain in Eastern medicine. The purpose of present study was to investigate the effects of CPC extract on cell cycle progression and its molecular mechanism in human fetal osteoblasts. CPC extracts (10 ${\mu}g/ml$) increased cell proliferation in the human fetal osteoblasts compared to non-supplemented control. There was no significant change in the G1 and S phase, hut a increase in the G2/M phase in 10 ${\mu}g/ml$ and 100 ${\mu}g/ml$ of CPC extracts group as compared to non-supplemented control. The protein expression of cyclin E, cdk 2, cycln D, cdk 4, and cdk 6 was higher than that of control group. The level of p21 was lower than that of control. But that of pRb and pl6 was not distinguished from control. These results indicate that the increase of cell proliferation by CPC extracts may be due t o the increased expression of cyclin E, cdk 2, cyclin D, cdk 4 and cdk 6, and the decreased expression of p21 in human fetal osteoblasts.

A transformer is a device that changes the current and voltage by electricity induced between coil and core steel, and it is composed of metals and insulating materials. In the core of the transformer, the thermal load is generated by electric loss and the high temperature can make the break of insulating. So we must cool down the temperature of transformer by external radiators. According to cooling fan's usage, there are two cooling types, OA(Oil Natural Air Natural) and FA(Oil Natural Air Forced). For this study , we used Fluent 6.2 and analyzed the cooling characteristic of radiator. we calculated 1-fin of detail modeling that is similar to honeycomb structure and multi-fin(18-fin) calculation for OA and FA types. For the sensitivity study, we have different positions(side, under) of cooling fans for forced convection of FA type. The calculation results were compared with the measurement data which obtained from 135.45/69㎸ ultra transformer flowrate and temperature test. The aim of the study is to assess the Fluent code prediction on the radiator calculation and to use the data for optimizing transformer radiator design.

Nano-structured electrodes were fabricated to develop efficient photoelectrochemical conversion systems for the synthesis of hydrogen from water and hydrocarbon fuels from $CO_2$. In this work, we compared the photoactivity of rutile $TiO_2$ nanorods grown on FTO and SEED/FTO by a hydrothermal method. An analysis of the microstructures showed that the density of nanorod/SEED/FTO samples, which showed only the (002) peak in their x-ray diffraction patterns, was two times higher than that of a nanorod/FTO sample. The photocurrent density of nanorod/SEED/FTO samples was increased by as much as 40% of the photocurrent density of the nanorod/FTO sample due to the increased specific density of the nanorods. However, the transient time for a recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes was 20 times faster in the nanorod/SEED/FTO. The seed layers are discussed as possible recombination sites.
