구절초의 추출조건에 따른 Linarin 함량과 In Vitro 생리활성 변화

본 연구에서는 구절초를 대상으로 물과 에탄올을 이용하여 확보한 각각의 추출물에 대하여 추출 수율, 폴리페놀 함량, 플라보노이드 함량, linarin 함량, ABTS 라디칼 소거능과 DPPH 라디칼 소거능, α-glucosidase 저해 활성, lipase 저해 활성을 측정하였다. 구절초는 70°C, 50% 주정 추출조건에서 추출 수율과 총플라보노이드 함량, linarin 함량, ABTS 라디칼 소거능과 DPPH 라디칼 소거능, α-glucosidase 저해 활성, lipase 저해 활성이 가장 높았다. 또한, linarin 함량이 구절초 추출물의 생리활성과 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 구절초 추출물은 linarin 함량이 증가함에 따라 항산화, 탄수화물 및 지방 흡수 지연 활성을 가지는 것으로 생각한다. 본 연구를 통하여 구절초의 추출조건에 따른 생리활성을 확인함으로써 향후 구절초를 이용한 건강기능식품의 소재 등으로 이용 가능할 것으로 생각한다. This study was designed to determine optimal extraction conditions of Chrysanthemum zawadskii (CZ) with high yield of bioactive compounds (linarin, polyphenols, and flavonoids) and improved in vitro activities. Ethanol extracts were examined at different concentrations (0, 30, 50, 70, and 95%) and temperatures (50 and 70°C). The recommended extraction conditions were 50% ethanol at 70°C for 4 h, which gave the highest yield of linarin, polyphenols, and flavonoids. This extract appeared to have the greatest ABTS and DPPH radical scavenging activities (87.81% and 51.42% at 500 μg/mL, respectively) and α-glucosidase (74.59%) and pancreatic lipase inhibitory activities (90.44%). As contents of linarin increased, antioxidative activity, inhibitory effects of carbohydrates and lipid absorption of CZ extracts increased as well. From these results, CZ extracts can be used in functional food industries.

Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the uterine cervix is a rare and highly aggressive cervical neoplasm. Metastases and recurrences of the tumor are common. Cervical large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas are distinctive cervical carcinomas that are frequently misdiagnosed and have unfavorable prognosis. So prudential care must be considered for proper diagnosis and multimodal treatment may be required for better survival. We experienced one case of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma accompanied with adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix in 52 year old woman. The uterine cervix covered and infiltrated with adenocarcinoma cells and attached polypoid mass (3.2×2.1 ㎝) composed of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma cells. The diagnosis was confirmed by immuno-staining using cytokeratin (+), synaptophysin (+), chromogranin (+), neuron-specific enolase (+), CD 56 (+), and vimentin (-). So we report the case with brief review of the literature.
아리랑위성 2호, 5호의 우주파편 충돌회피기동 주기 분석

본 논문에서는 현재 운용 중인 아리랑위성 2호와 발사예정인 아리랑위성 5호의 우주파편 충돌 회피기동 주기를 분석하였다. 이때, 각 위성들의 임무궤도 특성, 충돌 회피 여유시간, 허용 충돌확률, 위치 불확실성 등의 인자들의 변화에 따라 분석을 수행하였다. 또한, 결과의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 실제 1년 동안 생성된 NORAD TLE 카탈로그(catalog) 상의 우주 물체들과 아리랑위성 2호와의 충돌 회피기동 주기를 계산하였다. 분석 결과, 두 위성 모두 연중 약 1회 충돌 회피기동이 요구됨을 확인할 수 있었으며, 계산 인자들의 변화에 따른 결과 분석을 통해 추후 발사 예정인 저궤도 위성들의 충돌 회피기동 주기 예측 정밀도를 향상시키기 위한 방안들을 제시하였다. In this paper, a collision avoidance maneuver frequency for the KOMPSAT-2 and the KOMPSAT-5 is analyzed. For the statistical prediction of the avoidance maneuver frequency, mission orbits, responsive time, accepted collision probabilities, and positional uncertainties of primary and secondary objects are considered. In addition, the collision avoidance maneuver frequency of the KOMPSAT-2 is compared to the case that NORAD catalog during one year is used to calculate that of the KOMPSAT-2. As a result, the collision avoidance maneuver frequency is one per year on average and effective factors on the statistical prediction of the avoidance maneuver frequency are investigated. Efforts to improve its prediction accuracy are also discussed.

자궁내막종의 감별진단을 위한 난소낭종 환자의 혈청 Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) 농도의 진단적 유용성에 대한 연구

Objective: To evaluate the usefulness of serum concentrations of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) of patients with ovarian cysts for differential diagnosis of endometrioama. Method: From Jan. 2003 to Dec. 2004, preoperative serum MIF levels were assessed in 28 women with endometrioma, 32 with benign epithelial tumor, 23 with functional and simple cysts, 22 with benign mature cystic teratoma, and 25 women without ovarian tumor as control. MIF levels were determined using an ELISA (Quantikine Human MIF immunoassay, R&D Systems, Inc., USA). Results: Mean MIF levels were higher in all groups with benign tumors than control (all p<0.01), but there was no significant difference between benign tumor groups (p=0.95). There was no significant correlation between MIF levels and tumor volume, body mass index (BMI) (p=0.635, 0.674 respectively) Serum MIF level had significant correlation with count of WBC and neutrophils (p=0.008, 0.024 respectively), but had no correlation with count of lymhocytes and monocytes (p=0.688, 0.294 respectively). Conclusions: This study showed a marked increase in MIF concentrations in the peripheral blood of patients with endometrioma, but there was no significant difference with other benign tumors. Serum MIF level had significant correlation with count of WBC and neutrophils. These suggest serum MIF level has no usefulness for differential diagnosis of endometrioma from other benign ovarian cysts.

진생베리 추출물이 요구르트의 품질특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 진생베리 추출물을 첨가하여 요구르트를 제조하였다. pH는 전반적으로 발효기간 중 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 산도는 대조구와 첨가군 모두 시간이 경과 할수록 각각 1.07%, 1.20~1.09% 적정산도 값이 증기하는 정향을 나타내었다. 유산균수 변화는 발효초기에는 대조구가 높은 경향을 나타내었으나 발효 8시간 이후 진생베리 추출물 첨가군이 높은 경향을 나타내였다. 당도는 발효과정 중 모든 군에서 감소하였으며, 점도는 8시간째 GY50, GY75, GY100이 각각 571.90, 473.50, 469.50으로 급격하게 증가하였으나, 대조구와 GY25는 각각 43.20, 104.60으로 뚜렷한 증가 현상은 나타나지 않았다. 발효 24시간 후 DPPH 라디칼 소거능은 대조구(28.39%)에 비해 진생베리 추출물을 첨가한 GY25(37.08%), GY50 (40.62%), GY75(42.32%), GY100(44.06%)이 우수하였다. 관능검사에서는 GY25이 향과 색을 제외한 한목들에서 가장 높은 기호도를 보여 대조구보다 관능적으로 우수하였다. 이상의 결과를 종합해보면 진생베리 추출물을 첨가함으로써 기호성과 항산활활성이 개선된 새로운 요구르트 제조가 가능하다고 사료된다. Fermenration and quality characteristics of yogurt added with Ginseng berry extract(GEB) were investigated. Water and GEB were mixed with various proportions, such as 0:100(control), 25:75(GY2S), 50:50(GY50), 75:25(GY75) and 100:0(GY100), to dissolve skim milk powder. The pH of yogurt prepared with GEB decreased during fermentation but the titratable acidity increased under the same condition. The viable cell of lactic acid bacteria of yogurt prepared with GY100 maintained the highest value during fermention for 24 hrs at 37℃. But the vialbe cell decreased rapidly after 8 hrs fermentation in control. The sugar content of the yogurt increased as increasing the GBE concentration, but decreased during fermentation in all treatments. The DPPH radical scavenging ability showed the highest value in yogurt prepared with GY100. The sensory evaluation of yogurt prepared with GY25 showed the highest value in taste, favor and overall acceptability. In summary the above results is suggested that nutritional value and sensory quality of yogurt were enhanced by the addition of Ginseng berry extract and GEB can available as a new ingredient in yogurt manufacturing.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate histomorphometrically a toothash - plaster of Paris mixture associated with collagen membrane ($Bio-Gide^{(R)}$), regarding new bone formation in the peri-implantitis defects in dogs. Three mandibular molars were removed from 1-year-old mongrel dogs. After 2 months of healing, 2 titanium implants with sandblasted with large grit and acid etched (SLA) surface were installed in each side of the mandible. Experimental peri-implantitis was induced with ligatures after successful osseointegration. Ligatures were removed after identification of bone defect beneath the level of 5th thread of fixture on radiographic image. The mucoperiosteal flaps were elevated and the contaminated fixtures were treated with chlorhexidine and saline. The bone defects were assigned to one of the following treatments: no guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedure (group 1), GBR with Bio-$Oss^{(R)}$ and Bio-$Gide^{(R)}$ (group 2), or GBR with toothash - plaster of Paris mixture (TPM) and Bio-$Gide^{(R)}$ (group 3). The dogs were sacrificed after 8 or 16 months. The mean percentages of new bone formation within the limits of the 5 most coronal threads were $17.83{\pm}10.69$ (8 weeks) and $20.13{\pm}13.65$ (16 weeks) in group 1, $34.25{\pm}13.32$ (8 weeks) and $36.33{\pm}14.21$ (16 weeks) in group 2, and $46.33{\pm}18.39$ (8 weeks) and $48.00{\pm}17.78$ (16 weeks) in group 3, respectively. The present study confirmed statistically considerable new bone formation within the threads in group 3 compared with group 1 at 8 and 16 weeks (P<0.05). Although, data analysis did not reveal significant differences between group 2 and 3, the latter showed better results during the period of 8 or 16 weeks. Our findings support the effectiveness of TPM as a GBR material in the treatment of peri-implantitis bone defect.
