This experimental study describes atomization characteristics of spray-spray impingement. Effect of the impingement location and angle on the penetration and the sauter mean diameter of the impinged spray were investigated. Experiment were performed under ranging from 50㎪ to 250㎪ spray pressure, ranging 30˚ to 135˚ angle on the penetration and free spray.<br/> In the case of this experimental, sauter mean diameter D₃₂ tends to decrease and duration of film disintegration t?? to decrease, when spray pressure and angle on the penetration is increased.<br/> Sauter mean diameter D₃₂ were about 20% to be smaller compared with a free spray to jet-jet impingement and 30% to be smaller compared with a free spray to spray-spray impingement.<br/> <br/>
It is necessary to measure pressure, temperature, chemical equilibrium and the shape of flame in order to understand the combustion process in a combustion chamber. In particular, the flame formulation and combustion process of divided combustion chamber are different from those of a single chamber, And the variable diameter of a jet hole can effect not only physical properties like ejection velocity, temperature and time of combustion but also a chemical property like the reaction mechanism. Accordingly temperature is one of the most important factors which influence the combustion mechanism. This paper observed shape of flame by using the schlieren photographs and measured the pressure in a combustion chamber and the reaching time of the flame by ion probe By doing these. we investigation the formulation of the flame and the process of propagation. These measurement methods can be advanced in understanding the combustion process and process and propagation of flame.<br/>
This study is an investigation for improvement of experiment and practice education of Department of Mechanics through job analysis. The results of this study are as follows. 1. There will be necessary two or three courses (machine design, machine production or machine operation and repair part) for the last term. 2. Experiment and practice method linked from material selection to manufactures completion will be developed. 3. The investigation into the effect of fuel addition to the intake air of a compression ignition engine was performed as a part of research into the engine noise due to combustion. by In the intake, process, the ratio of the added fuel to the main fuel varies from 0% to 20% the increment to 5% and engine load varies from 0 to 4/4 by the increment of 1/4. As the result of present study, When the ratio of the added fuel to the main fuel was 10-20%, ignition delay became to be short, specific fuel consumption decreased, and engine noise was reduced. In addition, when the intake pipe was headed, ignition delay became to be short but the tem-perature of exhaust gas increased, specific fuel consumption also increased at the low load.

Many researches about the combustion process gas temperature and velocity in a constant volume combustion chamber have been conducted. The temperature and the distribution of velocity in the combustion chamber have a large influence in the combustion process. Temperature distribution and their histories of jet flame in a constant combustion chamber were measured by a laser rayleigh pyrometer , as a fundamental study of the combustion process in a spark ignition engine. It makes this study get the important data of temperature histories and flame state of jet flame.
On the internal combution engine. effective beat release rate was affected by engine rpm, air fuel ratio, ignition timing and so forth. In this paper, by measuring engine indicator diagram according to various. air fuel ratio, we calculated rate of pressure increase and heat release rate using theoretical formula. In addition to this, caculated total quentity of heat release per one cycle. From the above investigation, the results were obtained as following. 1) Calculated heat release rate for each crank angle using equation (15),. and measuring indicator diagram. 2) Heat release rate become maximum at air fuel ratio 11, and it's value were 900 cal/deg at after TDC 12 degree.
Kerosene jet diffusion and premixed flames in the high temperature air stream were experimentally investigated to make clear the temperature effect on the flame structure. Kerosene was used as the test fuel. The air temperature was controlled from room temperature to 1100K which was higher than the self- ignition temperature of a kerosene spray. Flame shape and temperature distribution were measured to characterize the spray combustion appeared in the hut air stream. As the result ignition point was shifted to the upstream side with an increase of air temperature. When the air temperature become higher than 800K, the blue flame appeared at the bottom portion of flame.
