        고마리 추출물의 항산화, 항균, 항염, 항알레르기 효과

        This study was examin the potential of Persicaria thunbergii extracts as physiologically active cosmetic ingredients. Ethanol and hot-water extracts of P. thunbergii were examined by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging method for antioxidant activity, MTT assay for cell viability in RBL-2H3 and RAW 264.7 cells, paper diffusion assay for anti-microbial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Propionibacterium acnes, inhibition of nitric oxide (NO) production for anti-inflammatory effect and inhibition of β-hexosaminidase for anti-allergy effect. The polyphenol contents of P. thunbergii ethanol and hot-water extracts were 132.00 and 89.46 μg/mL, respectively. And total flavonoid contents of P. thunbergii ethanol and hot-water extracts were 115.27, 84.94 μg/mL, respectively. The anti-oxidative activity of the two P. thunbergii extracts was compared, and the anti-oxidative activity of the ethanol extract was found to be superior to that of the hot-water extract. The DPPH radical scavenging activity was found to be 79.80% for the ethanol extract and 70.33% for the hot-water extract at a concentration of 500 μg/mL. No significant cytotoxicity was observed in RAW 264.7 and RBL-2H3 cells. In addition, the concentration dependent antimicrobial activities of two extracts were demonstrated in 3 microbial strains, such as those of S. aureus, S. epidermidis, and P. acnes. The anti-inflammatory activity of two extracts was examined in RAW 264.7 cells, and nitric oxide (NO) production was suppressed in a concentration-dependent manner. Both ethanol and hot-water extracts also inhibited secretion of β- hexosaminidase in a concentration-dependent manner. Based on the findings from this study, P. thunbergii extracts could be used as functional cosmetic ingredients that possess anti-oxidative, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergy properties. In order to determine their applicability, further research should be systematically conducted to verify their efficacy through clinical studies in humans.

        삼백초 추출물의 항균성과 두피에 미치는 영향

        Some medicinal plant have been used to beauty care such as dandruff. In this study, antimicrobial activity of Saururus chinensis Baill extracts against Malasezia furfur (fungi caused dandruff), Pityrosporum ovale (fungi caused dandruff), Propionibacterium acne (bacteria caused pimple), Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive bacteria), Echerichia coli(gram negative bacteria) and Bacillus subtillis (gram negative bacteria) using turbidity of liquid broth, paper disc diffusion and spreading of agar plate. In turbidity of liquid broth, each microorganism showed antimicrobial activity with S. chinensis extracts of >7%. E. coli showed clear zone of 6.08 mm with S. chinensis extracts of 50% and B. subtilis exhibited clear zone of 6.70 mm with S. chinensis extracts of 90% in paper disc diffusion. Furthermore, clear zone was 7.20 mm for S. aureus, 6.33 mm for P. ovale, 7.30 mm for P. acne in 90% of S. chinensis extracts. In spreading of agar plate, E. coli showed antimicrobial activity at 7% of S. chinensis extracts and B. subtillis, M. furfur and P. acne exhibited antimicrobial activity at 25% of S. chinensis extract. In clinical test, 10 subjects didn’t appeared allergic reactions were treated with shampoo blending aroma oils and 15 drops of 50% concentration of S. chinensis extract for 4 weeks and degree of change on dandruff and inflammation of before and after of treatment evaluated by expert. Degree of change on dandruff and inflammation of experiment groups treated with the shampoo changed for the better than before treatment and control groups. Therefore, S. chinensis extracts were contained antimicrobial compounds and it may be suitable to develop new antimicrobial agents for care of hair diseases from these sources.

        마치현 에탄올 추출물의 항균, 항산화 효과

        마치현 추출물에 대한 생리활성 소재로서 응용 가능성을 확인하고자 하였다. 마치현 추출물의 측정 결과, 플라보노이드, 폴리페놀 함량과 DPPH radical 소거능을 확인하였으며, 세포실험 결과 HaCaT, RAW 264.7, RBL-2H3 세포에서 유의한 세포독성은 나타나지 않았으며. H 2 O 2 에 의한 유발되는 산화적 스트레스에 대한 HaCaT 세포는 마치현 에탄올 100 μg/mL 농도에서 83% 보호효과가 확인되었다. RAW 264.7 세포에 대한 마치현 추출물의 항염 효과를 확인 결과 저농도에서도 nitric oxide 생성이 억제되었으며, S. aureus, S. epidermidis, P. acnes 균에서도 마치현 추출물의 농도 의존적으로 항균 활성이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 마치현 추출물의 항산화, 항염증 및 항균 효과를 가지는 생리 활성 물질로서 활용 가능성을 확인하였다. In order to elucidate the P.Herba ethanol extracts were examined DPPH radical scavenging activity, NO production, protective effects against oxidative stress in HaCaT cells, anti-inflammatory activity, antimicrobial activity, anti-allergic effects, and inhibition of β-hexosaminidase expression. The antioxidative activity of the P. Herba extracts was compared, and the antioxidative activity of the ethanol extract was found to be superior. No significant cytotoxicity was observed in HaCaT, RAW 264.7, and RBL-2H3 cells. The protective effect of the extracts against oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) was examined in HaCaT cells, and it was found to be 83% This concentration refers to which extract ethanol at 100 μ g/mL. The anti-inflammatory activity of the extracts was examined in RAW 264.7 cells, and NO production was suppressed even at low concentrations. In addition, the concentration-dependent antimicrobial activities of the extracts were demonstrated in several bacterial strains, such as those of S.aureus, S.epidermidis and P. acnes. Based on the findings from this study, Portulacae Herba extracts could be used as physiological active substance that possess antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

        고삼 에탄올과 열수추출물의 항산화, 항염증 및 항균효과

        This study comparatively reviewed the antioxidant, antiinflammatory and anti-microbial effects of Sophora flavescens extracts. As a results of DPPH free radical, ethanol and hydrothermal extracts were 60.01% and 31.77%, respectively, at 500 μg/mL. Therefore, the former was higher in scavenging activity in a dependent fashion. Total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of the ethanol extract were 71.84 ±14.95 and 42.32 ± 1.05 μg/mL, respectively, while the hydrothermal extract was 61.20 ±2.35 and 35.80 ±4.79 μg/mL, respectively. Toxicity of ethanol extracts on HaCaT cells, no cytotoxicity was found at 10 μg/mL. In addition, concentration-dependent protective effects were verified for the oxidative stress caused by H₂O₂. Antimicrobial activity of ethanol extracts against skin flora such as Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes were observed. a clear zone was observed in the ethanol strain. In Malassezia furfur, in contrast, antimicrobial inhibitory activity was detected in hydrothermal extracts as well. The said results show that the ethanol extract is greater than the hydrothermal extract in terms of antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities.
