김찬경,이인영,이본수,이익춘,김관수,주영협,Kim, Chan Kyung,Lee, In Young,Lee, Bon Su,Lee, Ik Choon,Kim, Kwan Soo,Joo, Young Hyup 대한화학회 1996 대한화학회지 Vol.40 No.7
Dieis-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and 5-membered ring compounds which have exo-cyclic double bond has been studied using the PM3 method. Transition states do not show large geometrical change with the variation of dienophiles. Two isomers are possible due to the rotation of the exo-cyclic double bond of a dienophile. The reactivity for the formation of different products are explained using the FMO energy gap. The exo and endo selectivity of the reaction has been also studied from the correlation between the deformation energy and the activation barrier. Minimum energy reaction path is discussed using the Curtin-Hammett principle.

This study investigate the relationship between antecedents of hotel users loyalty and loyal customer's behavioral responses, mainly depending on Korean and Chinese samples. Previous studies of service customer and their loyalty unveiled service loyalty is largely affected by customer's satisfaction, switching cost, and image factors. Loyal customers also tend to be of longer-tern relationship in their transactions, of high repurchase intention, and to diffuse positive word-of-mouth communication voluntarily.
For the analysis of relationships, variables in the model were firstly conceptually and operationally defined, grounded on the prior researches. This study assumed that hotel user's satisfaction is determined by physical as well as service provider's features of a hotel, plus prior experience of dissatisfaction. Switching cost is proposed to be affected by alternative's attractiveness, sunk cost, and user's variety-seeking tendencies. At the same time, hotel image is hypothesized to be dependent on hotel's reputation in the industry and user's perceived congruence of the images between the hotel and himself/herself. Some researchers found that the switching cost plays as a determinant role for customer's loyalty while it is affected by customer's satisfaction and hotel image.
Six hundreds of questionnaires were distributed to 300 Korean and 300 Chinese with an experience of local and/or foreign hotels in recent 3 years.
433 valid samples, 174 from Korean and 259 from Chinese were analysed to test hypothesis, using statistical package of AMOS 4.0 and SPSS 10.0 for Windows.
Reliability and validity of the instrument were within acceptable level. Model and hypothesis in the form of structural equation model were tested via AMOS 4.0. Results revealed that hotel user's loyalty is affected by satisfaction, switching cost, and image factors. This study showed that image factors significantly influence customer's switching cost while satisfaction failed to have a significant impact on it. A model using Korean users only da1a showed the same outcomes as in the Chinese only user's model, which supposedly means that customer satisfaction is no more an idiosyncratic feature of hotel industry both in Korea and China
Results from the analysis of cultual differences between Korea and China, borrowed form the idea of Hofstede's framework showed statistical significance in power distance and uncertainty while not in individualism and masculinity. Structural model in Korea reveals that switching cost does not influence hotel user's loyalty statistically. Chinese model neither showed significant path coefficient between satisfaction and loyalty, nor hotel image factors and loyalty.
For the increase of practical applicability, further analysis of determinants in the model were executed and discussed its findings. Comments on the limitations of this study are hoped to make some contributions for the future research on the sectors of customer's Loyalty and hotel business strategy.

Most types of collagen used for biomedical applications, such as cell therapy and tissue engineering, are derived from animal tissues. Therefore, special precautions must be taken during the production of these proteins in order to assure against the possibility of the products transmitting infectious diseases to the recipients. The ability to remove and/or inactivate known and potential viral contaminants during the manufacturing process is an ever-increasingly important parameter in assessing the safety of biomedical products. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacies of the 70% ethanol treatment and pepsin treatment at pH 2.0 for the inactivation of bovine viruses during the manufacture of collagen type I from bovine hides. A variety of experimental model viruses for bovine viruses including bovine herpes virus (BHV), bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV), bovine parainfluenza 3 virus (BPIV-3), and bovine parvovirus (BPV), were chosen for the evaluation of viral inactivation efficacy. BHV, BVDV, BPIV-3, and BPV were effectively inactivated to undetectable levels within 1 h of 70% ethanol treatment for 24 h, with log reduction factors of ${\geq}5.58$, ${\geq}5.32$, ${\geq}5.11$, and ${\geq}3.42$, respectively. BHV, BVDV, BPIV-3, and BPV were also effectively inactivated to undetectable levels within 5 days of pepsin treatment for 14 days, with the log reduction factors of ${\geq}7.08$, ${\geq}6.60$, ${\geq}5.60$, and ${\geq}3.59$, respectively. The cumulative virus reduction factors of BHV, BVDV, BPIV-3, and BPV were ${\geq}12.66$, ${\geq}11.92$, ${\geq}10.71$, and ${\geq}7.01$. These results indicate that the production process for collagen type I from bovine hides has a sufficient virus-reducing capacity to achieve a high margin of virus safety.

Viral, bacterial, and fungal infection can be transmitted from donor to recipient via transplantation of human amniotic membrane. Therefore human amniotic membrane for transplantation should be disinfected and sterilized before use. The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of the disinfection process and sterilization processes used at human tissue bank in the inactivation of viruses, bacteria, and fungi. A variety of experimental model viruses, bacteria, and fungus for human pathogens, including the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), bovine herpes virus (BHV), bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV), hepatitis A virus (HAV), porcine parvovirus (PPV), Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Candida albicans were all selected for this study. Enveloped viruses such as HIV-1, BHV, and BVDV were effectively inactivated to undetectable levels by 70% ethanol treatment, gamma irradiation process, and ethylene oxide (EO) gas sterilization process. Also non-enveloped viruses such as HAV and PPV were effectively inactivated to undetectable levels by gamma irradiation and EO gas treatment. However HAV and PPV showed high resistance to 70% ethanol treatment. E. coli and C. albicans were effectively inactivated to undetectable levels by 70% ethanol treatment, gamma irradiation process, and EO gas treatment. Also B. subtilis was effectively inactivated to undetectable levels by gamma irradiation process and EO gas treatment. However it showed high resistance to 70% ethanol treatment.

Ab initio calculations with STO-3G method were carried out on isomers of isobutylene dianion and dilithioisobutylene, and geometry, energy and Mulliken population were discussed. Energy of reaction, ${\Delta}$E, for isodesmic processes involving these species and relative heats of formation, ${\Delta}H_f$, estimated with ${\Delta}$E have shown that the contribution of "Y-aromaticity" to the structural stabilization of Y-type dianion is a tenuous one but the alkylation appears to proceed via the Y-type dilithio compound.
