The dual pulse rocket motor(DPRM) distributes the propellant energy effectively via pulse separation device(PSD) to improve the range and terminal velocity of the missile. There are two types of PSD such as bulk head type and thermal barrier type. A subscale thermal barrier type DPRM was designed, manufactured, and tested. The results showed good understanding of the characteristics of the PSD and will be applied to the design of the full scale DPRM.

In general, a valve body of the automatic transmission (AT) is controlled by the clutch, the brake and lubricating oil flow in a hydraulic system and lubricant flow for each valve can be adjusted independently. To increase the lifetime of AT, the lubrication flow rate in a valve body for a 6 speed AT based parallel hybrid electric vehicle must be provided with proper oil distribution and control. In this study, we carried out several experiments without the inner parts of AT and with a AT assembly. The variation of the flow rate on oil temperature and pressure between an oil supply port and the outlets of the lubrication port was evaluated and analyzed. In the case of AT without the inner parts, it was evident that as the oil required for an operation of the clutch and brake was discharged from the outlet port, the flow rate from each lubrication port is decreased. However, the flow rate of the AT assembly was slightly increased. In addition, the lubrication flow rate was increased with increasing the oil temperature, and also it was reduced with increasing the oil pressure. Details of the resulting data are discussed.

이중펄스 로켓모타는 두 개의 펄스모타 사이에 격벽 또는 격막을 통하여 1단 펄스모타 연소 후 2단 펄스모타가 연소하는 방식으로 일회성 추력 방식이 아닌 효율적으로 이중추력을 조절한다. 이러한 추력 배분을 통하여 사거리와 종말속도를 증가시켜 미사일의 기동성 및 사거리를 향상시킨다. 본 연구에서는 격막 펄스분리장치를 직경 000mm급 이중펄스모타에 설계하였으며 지상연소시험을 통하여 분석하였고, 결과적으로 펄스분리장치의 파열 특성을 파악할 수 있었다. Dual pulse rocket motor(DPRM) has a rocket motor with different pulse grains divided by a pulse separation device(PSD) such as a fragile bulkhead or a thermal barrier type. It distributes thrust energy very effectively via pulse separation device to improve range and terminal velocity of a missile. This paper contains the thermal barrier design and experimental analysis through ground firing tests of 000 mm diameter dual pulse motors. The results showed good understanding of the characteristics of the PSD and will be applied to the design of the full scale DPRM
고체 추진기관 적용 EPDM/Kevlar 조성의 접착형 내열 튜브 개발

본 연구는 고체 추진기관에 적용되는 내열재를 autoclave 방식이 아닌 hot press molding으로 제작하여 연소관에 접착 가능한 상태의 내열재로 제작하는데 초점을 두고 있다. EPDM/kevlar를 기본 조성으로 내열재 원료가 구성되고, 미가류 sheet 상태로 공급된다. 전방 내열재는 금형을 사용하여 preform 상태로 1차 제작하고, boots를 구형하기 위해 두개의 preform 사이에 modified nylon film을 사용하여 제작 하였다. 실린더 부위를 포함하고 있는 후방 내열재는 특별히 설계된 하나의 금형으로 제작되었고, boots 부위는 초경합금 칼날을 가지고 있는 장비에 의해 실현되었다. In this study, we focused on development of the adhesive insulator using the case for solid rocket motors. Material of insulator used unvulcanized rubber based on EPDM/kevlar. In case of front insulator, preforms was made by using hot press molding, and then modified nylon film was inserted between two preforms for boots manufacturing. Rear insulator included cylinder part was embodied by only one mold with special designed and manufactured shape in the process. Boots part of rear insulator was obtained by cutting machine with hard-metal cemented carbide.

Recently social awareness on environmental issues including air pollution has been raised, and related laws and regulations have been reinforced. In the circumstances, the development of common rail diesel engine has been progressed, which can correspond with EURO IV & V and has low-noise, strong-power and excellent fuel efficiency. This research aims to develop parts for Advanced Fuel/Oil Filtering Re-circulation applicable to this kind of regulation proof engines. These parts can playa role of converting traditional air emission type crankcase into recovery type crankcase so that the engine can deal with environmental regulations, which do not allow minimal amount of toxic gas discharge.
Fabric/EPDM계 고무의 제작 공정에 따른 삭마 특성

격벽형 펄스분리장치를 갖는 이중펄스 로켓모타의 경우 2단 모타 추진제 연소시 1단 모타 연소실 내부에 높은 강도의 가스흐름이 발생하므로 1단 모타 연소관 내열재 설계가 중요한 변수들 중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 높은 강도의 가스흐름으로부터 연소실 내부를 보호하기 위하여 fabric을 삽입한 EPDM계 고무의 제작 공정을 확립하였으며 높은 강도의 가스흐름을 유발하도록 설계된 모사모타에 적용하여 삭마 특성을 분석하였다. The dual pulse rocket motor is a pressure vessel containing two pulse grains separated by a pulse separation device such as a fragile bulkhead. One of the important things in this systems is case insulation design using the excellent materials in the 1st stage pulse motor. We investigated manufacturing process of fabric/EPDM chamber insulations in order to protect the 1st stage pulse motor case with high intensity gas flow. Simulation motor connected with extension tube having FRP disc was designed to study ablation characteristics of insulation.
