        도세포종의 방사선학적 소견:나선식 CT의 유용성을 중심으로

        Purpose : To analysis the radiologic characteristics of a pancreatic islet cell tumor, and to assess the usefulness of spiral CT scanning in the detection of a small tumor. Materials and Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the clinical, pathologic, and imaging features of 12 cases of pathologically-proven islet cell tumors of the pancreas occurring between 1989 and 1995. Imaging study included conventional CT (n=9) , spiral CT (n=3), ultrasonography (n=5), MRI (n=4), and angiography (n=6). Results : Among 12 patients, eight (67%) were diagnosed as suffering from functioning islet cell tumor, and four (33%) as nonfunctining tumors cases. Of the former, four were insulinoma and one was glucagonoma. Their average diameter was 2.4cm, whereas that of nonfunctioning tumors was 5cm. The average diameter of islet cell tumors was 1.3cm. Using conventional CT (4), spiral CT (3), ultrasonography (3), MRI (1), and angiography (3) preoperative localization was possible. Dynamic spiral CT scans with 5mm slice thickeness were performed in the three cases of smaller tumor (2cm) showed 100% sensitivity. Conclusion : Since nonfunctioning islet cell tumors tend to be large, it is usually possible to detect a tumor by using only ultrasonography or conventional CT scan. In the case of functioning islet tell tumors, however, localization of the lesion requires more complicated imaging studies. Our results show that thin slice spiral CT was valuable in the defection of small functioning tumors and can be the modality of choice for preoperative localization of a pancreatic islet cell tumor.

        Conversion phenomenon during the induction period of general anesthesia -A case report-

        Conversion disorder is characterized as psychological symptoms such as somatization and emotional distress, but there is no abnormal electrical signal in the brain. We report a patient who appeared conversion disorder during the induction period of general anesthesia. A 45-year-old woman was planned for arthroscopic knee meniscectomy. In the operating room, she appeared stable, but she said extremely nervous in this situation. Before propofol injection for induction of anesthesia, we injected 1% lidocaine 50 mg iv for pain relief. Immediately after injection, she showed general seizure-like activity and then tonic-rigid muscle tone, dyspnea with periodic breathing without cyanosis, and clouding of consciousness. The operation was delayed, and she was examined by neurosurgeon and psychiatrist. She was diagnosed as suffering with conversion disorder and she was without brain abnormalities on the magnetic resonance imaging. Her condition improved after anti-depressant medication and supportive psychotherapy. She underwent uneventful knee surgery 40 days later.

        군 병사의 외상경험이 군 생활 적응에 미치는 영향: 군 생활 스트레스 대처, 자아탄력성의 조절효과

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of traumatic experiences prior to enlistment on military life adaptation and the moderating effects of stress coping and self-resilience. For this study, 203 soldiers from privates to sergeants were given a set of survey questionnaires, and correlation and hierarchical regression were carried out for data analysis. As a result of correlational analysis, military life adaptation had a negative relationship with traumatic experiences and positive relationships with problem-focused coping, social support seeking coping, and resilience. In addition, as a result of examining the moderating effects of stress coping styles and resilience based on whether the soldiers had traumatic experiences, stress coping styles and resilience had positive effects on those with traumatic experiences rather than those without traumatic experiences. These findings suggest that although soldiers have traumatic experiences, military life can be adaptive if they use active stress coping styles or are self-resilient. In conclusion, implications and limitations of this study are presented regarding these findings. 본 연구는 군 병사의 입대 전 외상 경험이 군 생활 적응에 미치는 영향에서 스트레스 대처와 자아탄력성이 조절하는지 확인하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 이등병에서 병장까지 병사 203명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하고, 상관분석 및 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 상관분석 결과 외상경험 기간과 군 생활 적응은 부적 상관이 나타났으며, 문제중심 대처와 사회지지추구 대처, 자아탄력성은 군 생활 적응과 정적상관을 보였다. 그리고 조절효과 분석 결과, 외상경험이 없는 병사들에 비해 외상경험이 있는 병사들이 군 생활 적응에 스트레스 대처방식과 자아탄력성이 더 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 외상 경험이 있더라도 적극적인 스트레스대처 방식을 사용하거나 자아 탄력성이 높으면 군 생활이 적응적일 수 있음을 의미한다. 이러한 결과에 따라 연구의 의의 및 제한점을 논의 하였다.

        원근투영법 기반의 PTZ 카메라를 이용한 머리자세 추정

        본 논문에서는 PTZ 카메라를 이용한 머리자세추정 방법에 대하여 서술한다. 회전 또는 이동에 의하여 카메라의 외부인자가 변경되면, 추정된 얼굴자세도 변한다. 본 논문에는 PTZ 카메라의 회전과 위치 변화에 독립적으로 머리자세를 추정하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 얼굴검출, 특징추출 그리고 자세추정으로 이루어진다. 얼굴검출은 MCT특징을 이용해 검출하고, 얼굴 특징추출은 회귀트리 방법을 이용해 추출하고, 머리자세 추정은 POSIT 알고리즘을 사용한다. 기존의 POSIT 알고리즘은 카메라의 회전을 고려하지 않지만, 카메라의 외부인자 변화에도 강건하게 머리자세를 추정하기 위하여 본 논문은 원근투영법에 기반하여 POSIT를 개선한다. 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법이 기존의 방법 보다 RMSE가 약 $0.6^{\circ}$ 개선되는 것을 확인했다. This paper describes a head pose estimation method using PTZ(Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera. When the external parameters of a camera is changed by rotation and translation, the estimated face pose for the same head also varies. In this paper, we propose a new method to estimate the head pose independently on varying the parameters of PTZ camera. The proposed method consists of 3 steps: face detection, feature extraction, and pose estimation. For each step, we respectively use MCT(Modified Census Transform) feature, the facial regression tree method, and the POSIT(Pose from Orthography and Scaling with ITeration) algorithm. The existing POSIT algorithm does not consider the rotation of a camera, but this paper improves the POSIT based on perspective projection in order to estimate the head pose robustly even when the external parameters of a camera are changed. Through experiments, we confirmed that RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) of the proposed method improve $0.6^{\circ}$ less then the conventional method.

        Polished Wafer와 Epi-Layer Wafer의 표면 처리에 따른 표면 화학적/물리적 특성

        Physical and chemical changes in a polished wafer and in $2.5{\mu}m$ & $4{\mu}m$ epitaxially grown Si layer wafers (Epilayer wafer) after surface treatment were investigated. We characterized the influence of surface treatment on wafer properties such as surface roughness and the chemical composition and bonds. After each surface treatment, the physical change of the wafer surface was evaluated by atomic force microscopy to confirm the surface morphology and roughness. In addition, chemical changes in the wafer surface were studied by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy measurement. Changes in the chemical composition were confirmed before and after the surface treatment. By combined analysis of the physical and chemical changes, we found that diluted hydrofluoric acid treatment is more effective than buffered oxide etching for $SiO_2$ removal in both polished and Epi-Layer wafers; however, the etch rate and the surface roughness in the given treatment are different among the polished $2.5{\mu}m$ and $4{\mu}m$ Epi-layer wafers in spite of the identical bulk structural properties of these wafers. This study therefore suggests that independent surface treatment optimization is required for each wafer type, $2.5{\mu}m$ and $4{\mu}m$, due to the meaningful differences in the initial surface chemical and physical properties.
