      • 시간 스케일러빌리티를 이용한 MPEG-4 FGS 비디오 부호화 기법

        The paper shows MPEG-4 FGS(Fine Granularity Scalability) using the scalable video encoding technique that is adapted by MPEG-4 standard and a scheme to improve its efficiency. MPEG-4 FGS is the encoding technique that has the good flexibility for various property of devices and bandwidth variation over the internet. To improve MPEG-4 FGS coding efficiency, we applied an encoding technique with temporal scalability. In other words, the base layer is encoded with the same technique as the typical MPEG-4 FGS and the enhancement layer is encoded by adding temporal scalability property In test results, we could know that had better coding efficiency in the case of adding temporal scalability for the enhancement layer.

        Scaling Reuse Detection in the Web through Two-way Boosting with Signatures and LSH

        The emergence of Web 2.0 technologies, such as blogs and wiki, enable even naive users to easily create and share content on the Web using freely available content sharing tools. Wide availability of almost free data and promiscuous sharing of content through social networking platforms created a content borrowing phenomenon, where the same content appears (in many cases in the form of extensive quotations) in different outlets. An immediate side effect of this phenomenon is that identifying which content is re-used by whom is becoming a critical tool in social network analysis, including expert identification and analysis of information flow. Internet-scale reuse detection, however, poses extremely challenging scalability issues: considering the large size of user created data on the web, it is essential that the techniques developed for content-reuse detection should be fast and scalable. Thus, in this paper, we propose a qSignlsh algorithm, a mechanism for identifying multi-sentence content reuse among documents by efficiently combining sentence-level evidences. The experiment results show that qSignlsh significantly improves the reuse detection speed and provides high recall.

        Survey on the Perception of Urogenital Complications in Diabetic Patients

        Purpose: Retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy are well-known complications of diabetes; they are often expected to occur and, therefore, are usually tested for. However, urogenital complications, such as sexual and voiding dysfunctions, are less well known, and consequently, many patients are not treated appropriately despite their symptoms. Thus, we surveyed diabetic patients with regard to their perception of urogenital complications. Materials and Methods: We designed a survey for patients in our hospital who were being treated for diabetes mellitus (DM). The questionnaire included items on age, sex, treatment duration, treatment options for and the level of perception of urogenital symptoms, the presence of urogenital symptoms, and whether treatment was intended or had been initiated. Results: In total, 275 patients participated in the survey. The perception questions on DM-associated urogenital complications showed that 89 patients (32.4%) had no knowledge, 84 patients (30.5%) had some knowledge, and 102 patients (37.1%) had detailed knowledge about these complications. A total of 124 patients (45.1%) reported urogenital symptoms: 93 patients (75.0%) reported voiding dysfunction and 61 patients (49.2%) reported sexual dysfunction. Common symptoms of voiding dysfunction were urinary frequency, nocturia, sense of residual urine, weak stream, and urinary incontinence. Common symptoms of sexual dysfunction were reduced libido, and erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction. Conclusions: The survey showed that the subjective prevalence rate of urogenital symptoms in diabetic patients was 45.1%. However, only a small percentage (37.1%) of the patients cognized that these symptoms were associated with DM. Therefore, it is necessary to properly inform and educate diabetic patients on possible urogenital complications that may occur.

        Endoscopic treatment of vesicoureteral reflux in pediatric patients

        Endoscopic treatment is a minimally invasive treatment for managing patients with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). Although several bulking agents have been used for endoscopic treatment, dextranomer/hyaluronic acid is the only bulking agent currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treating VUR. Endoscopic treatment of VUR has gained great popularity owing to several obvious benefits, including short operative time, short hospital stay, minimal invasiveness, high efficacy, low complication rate, and reduced cost. Initially, the success rates of endoscopic treatment have been lower than that of open antireflux surgery. However, because injection techniques have been developed, a recent study showed higher success rates of endoscopic treatment than open surgery in the treatment of patients with intermediate- and high-grade VUR. Despite the controversy surrounding its effectiveness,endoscopic treatment is considered a valuable treatment option and viable alternative to long-term antibiotic prophylaxis.

      • 국내시유 중 Ascorbic Acid의 함량변화에 관한 연구

        本 實驗은 市乳 貯藏中 UHT乳와 HTST乳, 包藏容器, 螢光 照射에 따른 asorbic acid의 含量變化를 調査한 實驗으로 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. UHT乳의 ascorbic acid 含量은 HTST乳에 비해 21% 낮았다. 2. Ascorbic acid와 酸素含量은 10日 동안 貯藏中 조금씩 減少하였다. 3. 7日 동안 貯藏中에 jiro pack에 있어서 ascorbic acid와 酸素 減少率은 polyethylene pack과 carton pack에 있어서 보다 높았다. 그러나 tetra pack에 있어서 ascorbic acid와 酸素의 含量은 7日째부터 13日째의 貯藏期間中에 각각 15%씩 減少되었다. 4. 400 Lux 螢光에 노출된 투명한 유리병에 담긴 市乳의 ascorbic acid와 酸素含量은 24時間 貯藏中에 각각 88%와 24.7%로 급속히 減少되었다. This experiment was carried out to investigate the changes in the content of ascorbic acid in domestic market milks that was treated with UHT and HTST method, fluorescent light, and that filled different packaging containers during storage. 1. The content of ascorbic acid in UHT milk was 21% lower than that of ascorbic acid in HTST milk. 2. The content of ascorbic acid and oxygen decreased little by little during the 10 days of storage. 3. Decrease rate of ascorbic acid and oxygen in Jiro pack was higher than that of ascorbic acid and oxygen in Polyethylene pack and Carton pack during the 7 days of storage. However, the content of ascorbic acid and oxygen in Tetra pak decreased about 15% respectively from the 7th day to the 13th day. 4. The content of ascorbic acid and oxygen in clear glass bottles exposed to 400 Lux. fluorescent light decreased rapidly about 88% and 24.7% respectively during 24 hours.

        한약재 유해물질 모니터링 사업(Ⅰ) : 유통 한약재의 중금속에 관한 연구 Studies on heavy metals of natural medicines in market

        Objectives : This study was performed to determine the harmful heavy metal ions(Pb, Hg, As, Cd, Cr) in twenty species of natural medicines circulated in Korea and China. Methods : The levels of heavy metal ions(Pb, As, Cd, Cr) were processed using kjeldahl digestion and ICP(Inductively Coupled Plasma spectometer). Mercury was determined by the amalgamation method. Results : Lead was detected less than 0.01(㎍/g) in most samples but in Achyranthes Root it was detected more than 1.0(㎍/g). The amount of Mercury was 0.01(㎍/g) in Trichosanthis Radix and 0.14(㎍/g) in Lonicera Flower. However, in Osterici Koreani Radix of Seong-do(China), Coix Seed of Jecheon(Korea) and Seoul(Korea) and Cimicifuga Rhizome of Seong-do(China), it was detected more than 1.2(㎍/g). The amount of Arsenic was determined 0.12(㎍/g) in Peach Kernel and 0.89(㎍/g) in Cimicifuga Rhizome. Cadmium was detected similar levels in most samples. Cadmium levels in Asiasarum Root was higher than any other samples and its value was 0.40(㎍/g). The amount of Chromium was detected 0.26(㎍/g) in Coix seed and 4.1(㎍/g) in Asiasarum Root. Chromium levels in Osterici Koreani Radix, Achyranthes Root and Asiasarum Root were higher than others. Hazardous heavy metals except Cr were detected less than 1.0(㎍/g) in most samples. Conclusion : The results mean that natural medicines were exposed to risk-hazardous environment.

        Effect of RF Power on an Al-doped ZnO Thin Film Deposited by RF Magnetron Sputtering

        Transparent and conductive Al-doped ZnO thin films (thickness, 200 nm) were prepared on glass substrates via RF magnetron sputtering at room temperature, using a disk of ZnO mixed with 2 wt% Al_2O_3 as a target (diameter, 3 in). We investigated the effects of RF power (20 - 100 W, in steps of 20 W) on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of the fabricated thin films. The preferred orientation was observed on the (002) plane of all the Al-doped ZnO thin films deposited on the glass substrates. Moreover, good crystallinity was obtained in the RF power range of 40쭯80 W. All the Al-doped ZnO thin films exhibited more than 80% transmittance, regardless of the RF power; the optical band gap increased with the RF power. The best electrical properties were obtained at 80 W as follows: electrical resistivity = 1.76 ≠ 10^(-3) Ωcm, carrier concentration = 6.35 ≠ 10^(20) cm^(-3), and mobility = 5.57 cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1). The results of XPS analysis showed that the number of O vacancies and Al atoms were dependent on the RF power, and they were maximum at 80 W.
