This experiment was conducted to study the possibility of pellet semen as a replacement for ampoule semen and simplifying the method of glycerol addition to the egg yolk extender with Korean native cattle. Glycerol was added once and twice to the egg yolk semen extender and equilibration time was 6, 12 and 18 hrs. respectively. Each semen was freezed in the liquid nitrogen and thawed in a 5℃ water bath. Inseminated artificially frozen semen to the cows and calculated the fertility (N.R. 60-90 days) and sperm living index. The results obtained are as follows: 1. No significant difference was found between once and twice additions of glycerol on the living index of spermatozoa. 2. No significant difference was found between, 6, 12 and 18 hours equilibration intervals on the living index of spermatozoa. 3. Conception rates in the Korean Native Cattle of pellet and ampoule semen were 55.1% and 59.2% respectively. The results indicated that conception rate of pellet semen was no better than the ampoule semen.

본 연구는 광양만의 흥수기 전후의 표층온배수의 확산 특성을 고조, 중조 및 저조시의 CTD 관측자료분석을 통하여 온배수와 섬진강 담수 방류량의 변동에 따른 수평 및 연직구조로 파악하였다. 그 결과 광양만 표층온배수의 확산 특성은 전반적으로 해수 유동구조와 섬진강의 유출량, 그리고 하구역에 인접한 대단위 산업단지에서의 온배수에 의해 복잡한 형태를 파악할 수 있었다. A study on the spatial and temporal distributions of surface thermal effluents in Seomjin River estuary and Gwangyang Bay executed to grasp in 2005(July) and 2006(February, May, August, September). The distribution of surface thermal effluents during the spring tide show well the tidal current and thermal effluents effect to the expansion of Seomjin River discharges.

Auxiliary reinforcement methods such as for-poling and multi-steel pipe grouting etc. are frequently used to avoid a possible collapse of tunnel face, where the ground condition is not favourable as well as geological formation is not sufficient. However, among those methods a suitable reinforcement method is exclusively decided by tunnel engineers" experience so far. Therefore, this study introduces a data-mining technique for the proper auxiliary reinforcement method during uncertainty of tunnelling work. The data-mining technique has widely been used in the field of social science, medical treatment, banking and agriculture etc. A decision-tree together with PDA technique based on tunnel construction data was developed to provide a reasonable reinforcement method in this study. Future study will be focused on the application of this technique in a variety of underground space developments.

There is an increasing need for the ability to predict the turbulent flow, chemical reaction and heat transfer phenomena in furnaces and combustors and their performance as a function of the input and boundary conditions. Although a significant progress has been achieved in predictive modelling techniques, the shortcomings in certain modelling aspects highlight the lack of detailed information on the turbulent-combustion characteristics of the flow and radiation heat transfer. Detailed knowledge of the turbulent flow, flame characteristics and heat flux distributions is required in furnaces and combustors for high combustion efficiency and low pollutant emissions. In this paper, FLUENT 4.0 is applied to numerical analysis of the FHC-Ⅲ type swirl burner in No.2 Hot Mill Works of POSCO. The mixture fraction / PDF(Probability Density Function) approach with K-ε turbulent model is used for simulation of turbulent diffusion flames. The PI-model is applied to radiation heat transfer.
