Six Sigma, a powerful management strategy focused on customer satisfaction, has been widely adopted in Korean companies since 1996. The effectiveness of Six Sigma is already proven in many large companies. It is, however, still difficult for small and medium sized companies to implement it. In this paper, a Six Sigma model for a small and medium sized company is considered. We suggest six factors for a successful implementation of Six Sigma in a small and medium sized company. Those success factor consist of management leadership, Six Sigma organization and belt system, education and training, recognition and reward system, process improvement roadmap, and the selection of right project. A case study of HSD engine's Six Sigma is also considered.
