한민족과 만주족의 문화 비교연구 -장례문화를 중심으로-

만주족은 알타이어족으로 언어상 우리민족의 언어와 비슷하고, 역사적으로 우리민족과 분리와 통합을 계속하면서 발전하여온 민족이다. 만주족과 우리민족은 때로는 이웃하면서 때로는 같은 지역에서 부단히 접촉하고 또한 서로의 문화를 공유하였으며 역사적인 활동무대도 백두산과 압록강 주변 일대를 근거지로 생활하면서 우리 민족과 같은 문화 생활권에서 지내온 민족이다. 따라서 두 민족 간에는 언어와 문화에 있어서 자연히 많은 유사성을 지니고 있는 점을 간과할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 고대문헌에 나타난 기록을 중심으로 하여 우리민족과 만주족의 장례문화를 비교함으로써 두 민족이 지니고 있는 고유 특성의 공통점에 대해서 분석 고찰하였다. 고찰해 본 결과 두 민족의 장례문화·묘제·장제·장의는 그 방법과 형태 그리고 사회 문화 내세관·사상·친족관계 등에서 일치하는 부분이 많이 존재함을 발견할 수 있었다. 이하 약술하면 첫째, 동굴생활, 즉 수혈생활은 수신과 수혈신앙 나아가서는 사자의 가옥인 무덤과 관련이 있다. 둘째, 상장(喪葬)기간은 각기 차이는 있으나 기간이 길고 짧음보다는 사자의 영혼이 비양(飛揚)하도록 최대한 도우려한다. 셋째, 후장에는 크게 두 부류로 나눌 수 있다. 그 하나는 한민족의 쌀과 만주족의 돼지는 사자의 양식으로, 다른 하나는 말과 소인데 사자의 영혼이 하늘로 올라가도록 돕는 데 사용하였다. 넷째, 가무는 두 민족이 장례의식에 있어 클라이맥스로 볼 수 있다. 사자의 영혼을 좋은 곳으로 보내기 위해 신과 자연과 소통하는 자연언어의 표현인 것이다. Manchurian belongs to the Altaic language the same as Korean does. Historically, Manchurian had developed its country as they had mingled with Koreans so much over the years. That is, in some period of time Manchuria and Korea were one country and in some period they were separated into two countries, but in all cases, they lived near to each other near around Mt. Baek-Du and Up-Lok river area. This means that they both had much contact to each other over the years. This made us be interested in much similarity they have between these two nations, such as in their daily lives, languages and cultures. In this report, we expecially intend to compare the particular similarity and the differences in ancient forms of the funeral ceremonies between these two nations according to the written records in the past. In result, I understood that funeral service cultures, the services in a graveyard, the method and the form of the funeral ceremonies of both Machurian and Korean as well as the culture society, the thought of the eternal lives, thinking, and the relationship between families, finding much similarity, or accordance between Manchurian and Korean. The followings will be the outline of the report. The first, the life of the den, that is, a pit dwelling life is SuShin and the pit dwelling life and faith which are much related to the dwelling places for lions and tombs. The second, there are differences in the length of the funeral but this is not much matter but the spirit of lion`s does matter. The third, there are 2 main parts in afterward funerals. One is; Han race`s rice and Machurian`s pigs are lions` food. The other one is; the horse and cows are the spirits of the lion and they try hard to help the spirit of the lion goes on to the Heaven. The last one is that dances were the most climax of the whole funeral to both nations. In order to ascend the spirit of the lion, dancing ceremony became the natural expressions of the communication between gods and the nature.
