The purpose of this article is to research the method of values education through the national geography curriculum. Values education through is the best way of making students experience love for their country and national identity. Therefore, an effective method for value education is as follows: 1) The aims of value education in the national geography curriculum are as follows ① desire for scientific inquiry ② love for national teritory ③ frontier spirits ④ love for nature ⑤ National identity ⑥ international cooperation ⑦ cherish the desire for national unification. 2) Various teaching methods should be used in order to make students participate directly in value inquiry process learning, such as, the discussion and solution of problems through photographs and A V. materials, fieldwork notes, and discussion of topics. 3) Contents of textbooks should be generalized in order to make students experience value education process learning. 4) It is more important to teach students by the process of value education than mere geographical facts, Even though National Geography is of great importance, it is not included as a compulsory subject in the high school curriculum, a phenomenon to the regretted. This is why this author emphasizes that national geography should be a compulsory subject in the high school curriculum.
