In this thesis, we present the Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) fuzzy model based adaptive controller and adaptive identification for a general class of uncertain nonlinear dynamic systems. We use an estimated model for the unknown plant model and use this model for designing the controller. The hybrid adaptive control combined direct and indirect adaptive control based on TSK fuzzy model is constructed. The direct adaptive law can be showed by ignoring the identification errors and fails to achieve parameter convergence. Thus, we propose an TSK fuzzy model based hybrid adaptive (HA) law combined of the tracking error and the modeling error to adjust the parameters. Using a Lyapunov synthesis approach, the proposed hybrid adaptive control is proved. The hybrid adaptive law (HA) is better than the direct adaptive (DA) method without identifying the modeling error in terms of faster and improved tracking and parameter convergence. In order to show the applicability of the proposed method, it is applied to the inverted pendulum system and the performance is verified by some simulation results.

With increased participation in sporting activity, overuse tendon injuries are a major problem in sports medicine. Tendinopathy is generic descriptive term for the clinical conditions in and around tendons arising from overuse. Tendinopathy is debilitating condition that results in significant deficits in performance and prolonged time away from activity. Histological studies show either absent or minimal inflammation. There are three main theories to explain the development of tendinosis, including the mechanical theory, vascular theory, and neural theory. Risk factors are divided into intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. The management of tendinopathy revolves around modulating tendon pain, as pain is the presenting and limiting factor for activity. Despite an abundance of therapeutic options, the scientific evidence base for managing tendinopathies is limited. The aim of this review is to report the options for most widely used conservative management of tendinopathy.

The air-sea relations in the northern sea of Cheju Island have been stidied through the observations on Ham-duck area. The oceanic circumstances are basically affected by the adjacent seas, specially the East China Sea. Seasonal tempreature changes let us make sure that the Kuroshio waters are extended to the north-west direction in winter and shrinked to the south-east direction on summer. In addition, Ham-duck area shows some air-sea relations, such as closely related dir and sea surface temperatures, and effects of precipitations on surface salinities. the temperature and salinity distributions in the coastal areas also reveal probably upwellings by the east winds, However, the monthly observations of planktons and fishes make it hard to find any effects of these oceanic changes, which are primarily due to the atmospheric conditions, on the biological productions.

The purpose of this study is to analyze synoptically some characteristics of the surface inversion at Kori, southeastern part of Korea and to be useful for a searching examination of the air pollution potenial at a coastal industrial region. The data used in this study are the temperatures at 20m and 1.5m above the surface, wind velocity and wind direction observed hourly at the monitoring station which is located at Gilcheon-ri (N35˚19'44", E129˚17'20") near Kori in Korea, from December, 1967 to November, 1970. By analyzing these data statistically and synoptically, the following results were acquired. 1) The occurence frequency of the surface inversion is the highest in November and the lowest in June. In seasonal variation, autumn has the highest and summer has the lowest occurrence frequency. 2) The modes of the onset and dispersion times of the surface inversion are 18:00 and 08:00 respectively. The annual mean duration of the surface inversion is 11.3 hours. 3) The aspects of annual variations of inversion intensity and occurrence frequency with time are similar to each other and also have a close connection with sunrise, sunset and the changing time of land and sea breezes. 4) According to Pasquill's stabillity classification in inversion cases, it was proved that there are the classes of E, F and G being stable in inversion cases at Kori.
