Permanent rental housing, the construction of which was strongly financed by the central government, is regarded as a social housing for those who fall within the lowest income bracket. Differing from "public rental housing", offered to tenants for sale after a five year rental period, this type of housing is intended for rental use on a long-tenn basis. At present, about 190,000 permanent rental housing units exist in Korea. According to a statistics, 15.6% of its residents did not pay their management fee and rental payment in 4 or more months in 2005, which places stress on the housing management. Based on the "eviction condition" stipulated in the tenancy agreement for permanent rental housing, a householder owning assets or a vehicle which is not used as his means of living, who is overdue with his management fee and rental payment for a long time, may be evicted from the house. However, there are many conflicts and problems between administrators/housing managers and residents in the process of enforcing this regulation. The purpose of this study is to explore the key issues associated with the present situation and the reasons why so many management fee and rental payment for permanent rental housing are overdue. For the purpose of research, data were collected from 10,990 permanent rental housing residents nationwide via a questionnaire survey in February 2007. One third of the respondents had an experience of more than 2 months overdue since they have moved in current residence. For further analysis, the respondents were divided into three groups, based on their working ability. The major finding showed that the group of respondents who have working ability required a more practical plan, such as employment, to have a sustainable life, while the other group of no labor force indicated a need for more housing allowance from the government. To suggest more specific alternatives for the subject of housing payment overdue, further comparison study should be performed between the residents of permanent rental housing and other low income tenants in private housing sector.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of anterior segmental osteotomy (ASO) in bimaxillary protrusion (BP) patients by comparison between the mandibular soft and hard tissue changes from orthodontic treatment and ASO. Methods: All 44 patients were diagnosed with BP in Kyung-Hee Medical Center. Orthodontic treatment with teeth extractions were underwent by 23 patients (Group A) and 21 patients underwent ASO (Group B). Mandibular soft and hard tissue changes were measured and evaluated, which were based on the vertical and horizontal reference line in lateral cephalometric radiographs. Statistical significance between the changes and correlation between each measurement were analyzed. Results: The amount of B point movement was lesser than that of the lower incisal tip (LIT) retraction, and LIT was tilted lingually in group A. The posterior movement discrepancy between LIT and B point was insignificant, and the inclination of lower incisor was not changed in group B. The soft tissues, including the lower lip, showed a posterior movement and reduction in the depth of mento-labial groove. According to the correlation analysis, the movement of the lower incisor was significantly related to the movement of the lower lip in group A, and the movement of the lower incisor was significantly related to that of the movement of lower lip, B point and Pog in group B. Conclusion: The orthodontic treatment in BP patients results in posterior tilting movement of the lower incisor, but ASO results in the bodily movement of the lower incisor. Consequently, ASO is more effective in BP cases because it ensures the controlled movement of the lower incisors.

Investigation of meridian line and acupoints as anatomical entities should be very important, as acupuncture and meridian massage for medical purpose in the hospital or for skin care in beauty shop are each based on the traditional meridian theory. We isolated tubular structures under the skin of rabbits where the traditional meridian lines are located. The characteristics of these tubular structures isolated from the abdominal wall matches those of Bonghan tubes and Bonghan tubules found by Bong Han Kim. The Bonghan theory established by Bong Han Kim suggests that meridian lines consist of Bonghan tubes and Bonghan tubules. We could observe the presence of large cells inside the Bonghan tubule and the presence of small granules referred to as Sanal in Bonghan theory inside the striae consisting of the Bonghan tubules. Present research suggests that there exist a third unique tubular structure where Sanals flow other than Bonghan tube and Bonghan tubules.

In recent, the concept of management is emphasizing the aspects of social welfare, especially in permanent rental housing that most of the residents are very low income households. Although the quality of service for the residents of permanent rental housing was improved comparatively, it still needs to continually change in response to the needs of residents. To figure out the better way of supporting the service for the residents of permanent rental housing, this study examined the role and function of management office and compared perception on management services between management staffs and residents of permanent rental housing. Based on the in-depth interview with 5 managers of permanent rental housing, two types of survey questionnaire (residents/staffs of management office) were developed for the research purpose. A sample of 89 management office staffs and 111 residents were used for the data analysis. Most of the respondents recognized the need of a cooperation system among management office, social welfare center, and residents for providing better management system and welfare service.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is an emerging detection technology for the amplification of DNA under isothermal conditions. The aim of this study was to develop a rapid and reliable LAMP technique for the detection of Cronobacter sakazakii in milk powder. In order to enhance the sensitivity and specificity, LAMP primers targeting outer membrane protein A (ompA) gene of C. sakazakii were designed using Explorer V4 software. Thirty seven C. sakazakii strains and 13 pathogenic microorganisms were used for comparative detection of C. sakazakii using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time PCR, and LAMP. LAMP developed in this study could specifically detect C. sakazakii strains without cross-reactivity with other foodborne pathogens. LAMP products amplified from ompA gene of C. sakazakii were digested with with HhaI and NruI enzyme. The specificity of LAMP was confirmed by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis. LAMP could detect C. sakazakii within 1 h without bacterial culture and its detection limit was as low as 1 CFU/mL C. sakazakii in milk. In the comparison of the sensitivity, LAMP showed 10,000- and 100-times higher detection limit than PCR or real-time PCR, respectively. Therefore, this study can conclude that LAMP is a rapid and reliable detection technique for C. sakazakii contaminated in powdered milk.

Resident participation or tenant empowerment is becoming an important concept of planning, provision of welfare services, and management of housing. It can be motivated by three variables: shared goals, shared values, and sense of community among residents. Theoretically, the more each of these three variables, the more likely people will be to participate. The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of management staff on residents' participation in public rental housing. For this, 198 management staff of public rental housing under Korea Housing Management were surveyed using questionnaire distributed by email during February 18 to 27, 2009. Only 33.3% of the public rental housing complexes surveyed constituted Residents Representative Committee. Most of the respondents showed negative perception of resident organizations and their roles as an meaningful way to communicate with them on the management system. Several ways to enhance the resident participation and to reduce housing and living cost burden of residents in public rental housing were suggested as follows: development and distribution of education and service program inspiring the residents' empowerment, enacting a provision of Tenants Representative obligation in Rental Housing Act, and so on.

Deep learning is widely utilized to classify or recognize objects of real-world. An abundance of data is trained on high-performance computers and a trained model is generated, and then the model is loaded in an inferencer. The inferencer is used in various environments, so that it may cause unrecognized objects or low-accuracy objects. To solve this problem, real-world objects are collected and they are trained periodically. However, not only is it difficult to immediately improve the recognition rate, but is not easy to learn an inferencer on embedded devices. We propose a real-time handwriting recognizer based on partial learning on embedded devices. The recognizer provides a training environment which partially learn on embedded devices at every user request, and its trained model is updated in real time. As this can improve intelligence of the recognizer automatically, recognition rate of unrecognized handwriting increases. We experimentally prove that learning and reasoning are possible for 22 numbers and letters on RK3399 devices.

The purpose of this study was to identify perception on housing welfare of social welfare practitioners. Specific research interest was focused on the area of housing welfare services and necessity, problems when execute housing welfare services, and activating strategy of housing welfare. For the research purpose, questionnaires were distributed to 537 people who work in the field of social welfare including social welfare officials in local government authorities and social workers at community welfare centers nationwide by mail and e-mail and 405 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 program. Respondents thought that the supply of public rental housing was the most important service to promote housing welfare. They also indicated the most serious problem was the lack of budget and housing welfare services and programs. As main reasons of local government's passive attitude toward housing welfare services and programs, respondents mentioned low interest level of housing welfare and lack of housing welfare education. Most of the respondents agreed the necessity of introducing the curricula related to housing welfare and expected to spread interest toward housing welfare in the field of social welfare.
