Objective; The purpose of this study is to identify the state of occupational lead exposure in the Navy and use it as basic data to create a better working environment. Method; This study collected and analyzed the results of working environment monitoring conducted from 2013 to 2019. The lead exposure process was classified into soldering, welding, painting, metalworking, maintenance, shooting, and others. The difference in lead exposure levels according to the process was descriptively compared. Result; The average of lead exposure levels in other processes was the highest at 0.011mg/m3, followed by shooting at 0.01mg/m3. The median value of lead measurements at the shooting range was the highest, and the overall distribution of the measurements was higher than that of other processes. Conclusion; In order to protect workers from excessive lead exposure, interventions such as installing ventilation facilities suitable for workplace characteristics are necessary based on the results of this study.

Objectives: Thirdhand smoke (THS) refers to residual tobacco smoke pollutants that remain after cigarette smoking. The purpose of this study was to determine predictors of the belief among adults in Korea that THS is harmful to children. Methods: A population-based sample of 3,000 adults (≥19 years) among a web-based panel in Korea was obtained in November 2016. The respondents filled out questionnaires, including THS beliefs, smoking status, presence of voluntary smoke-free rules at home, and support for the implementation of smoke-free regulations at home. THS beliefs were assessed with a statement that staying in a room today where people smoked yesterday can harm the health of children. Results: Overall, 92.2 % of adults believed that THS exposure could harm the health of children. Respondents who were nonsmokers, believed that SHS exposure were associated with pneumonia of children, lived in home with complete smoke-free rule at home, and supported the implementation of smoke-free regulation at home were more likely to believe that THS could harm for health of children. Conclusions: The majority of Korean adults believed that THS exposure could harm the health of children. Predictors identified in the study can be useful to address the risk of THS beliefs and promote implementation of tobacco control policies.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to research ‘Daeri’ drivers who work for drunken customers as a substitute driver. This was the first study in Korea to investigate assault and verbal abuse experienced while employed as a ‘Daeri’ driver. Methods: In this study, we conducted a survey to investigate people who work as ‘Daeri’ drivers. The survey was performed from September 1 to 7, 2014. The participants were 166 adult men and women who work as full-time ‘Daeri’ drivers. Results: Participants who experienced physical violence and assault from the customers to the point of disturbing safe driving in a year were 36.1% of total respondents. People who experienced verbal abuse to the point of disturbing safe driving in a year totaled 80.4% of respondents. In addition, there were also qualitative research results. Conclusions: Acts that impede safe driving are a danger to both passengers and drivers. By protecting the safety of ‘Daeri’ drivers, we will be able to protect the safety of citizens. Therefore, it is necessary to make an effort to protect ‘Daeri’ drivers from customer violence. Furthermore, it is also necessary to research policy to emplace a legal system that can protect ‘Daeri`` drivers
